In Official Basketball Rules[1] 2014 which is approved by FIBA Central Board on February 2nd, 2014 and is valid as of October 1st, 2014, Article 43 of Rule 7 is spared for rules on Free throws.Section 43.2.4 is about the players in the free-throw rebound places and the section is as follows:The players in the free-throw rebound places shall be entitled to occupy alternating positions in these spaces, which are considered to be 1 m in depth (Diagram 6).During the free throws these players shall not:Occupy free-throw rebound places to which they are not entitled.Enter the restricted area, the neutral zone or leave the free-throw rebound place until the ball has left the hand(s) of the free-throw shooter.Distract the free-throw shooter by their actions.As you can see from the diagram there are rebound places given to the players. and if the player leaving his/her space violates the rule. if the contact occurs, there is player violating the rule and the referee is the one to decide who violates the rule and act accordingly.REFERENCES[1] Rules of the Game
