Royal Mail has admitted selling off thousands of items that got ‘lost in the post’ to help meet its running costs.The troubled company sells the contents of about 75,000 undelivered packages every year, at the risk of enraging hordes of customers already frustrated that their post has gone astray.Even customers who paid over the odds for premium ‘secure’ services to cover valuable items have been shocked to find their goods put up for auction, in an operation that could be netting the postal giant millions of pounds a year.The scandal was exposed by retired teacher John Beattie after he discovered that a set of antique bagpipes, which Royal Mail had lost, were for sale on internet auction site eBay.He had originally sold the rare 1910 Henderson bagpipes to a fellow collector in Belgium for Pounds 1,500 last July, and despatched them using the Royal Mail’s Airsure premium airmail service, described as ‘fast, secure and reliable’.Although the package was correctly labelled, it vanished without trace.However, in March this year a friend spotted the bagpipes online.It turned out that the package had spent three months languishing in the national undelivered mail centre inBelfast, before the Royal Mail sent it to Surrey auctioneers Wellers.In turn, they sold the bagpipes to an online bidder for Pounds 60. The instrument then turned up on eBay, advertised by a man in the Glasgow area.Wellers has an exclusive contract to sell Royal Mail’s undelivered post, but senior auctioneer Glen Snelgar refused to comment on their arrangement.He said: ‘We are bound by a confidentiality agreement.’ A Royal Mail spokeswoman admitted: ‘About 500,000 undeliverable parcels are sent to Royal Mail’s return letter centre every year.‘They are kept for up to six months, after which a proportion about 15 per cent are sent to auction, with the proceeds making a contribution to the centre’s annual Pounds 10million running costs.’ She said some of the money was given to charity, but would not disclose how much.Fifty-five-year-old Mr Beattie, of Northwich, Cheshire, is furious at how he has been treated. ‘I’ve spent a year trying to sort this out,’ he said.‘I did everything I should have.I clearly addressed the box containing the bagpipes, and Royal Mail labelled it with its own stickers, too.‘It even had an online track-tag attached to it, and this was supposed to enable Royal Mail to follow the progress of the package.‘After months of phone calls and countless letters, I’ve lost my bagpipes, lost money and I am worried this is happening to plenty of other people, too.‘Royal Mail does not answer to anybody. I have learned that if there is any possible way of cheating, the Democrats will do it. The evidence is shockingly overwhelming that such widescale cheating took place in the 2020 election that we will have no choice but to decertify multiple states which will send the election to the House of Representatives.And we can thank the Democrat party for nullifying our votes.Anyone who says Biden is “President-Elect” is fooling themselves and probably believing news sources without doing any individual research such as reviewing the mountains of evidence, which is an arduous task. It is far more probable, given what we know, that Trump won the 2020 election, but even that is too uncertain to certify.Some problems, be they fraud or incompetence, are irreparable. For example, if ballots are found to be cast by ineligible voters, once those votes are comingled with valid votes, there is no way to avoid potentially cheating one party or the other.NEVADA - For example, in Nevada, Biden “won” by about 33,600 votes. However, at least 87k votes are deemed to be ineligible, including 42k people voting twice, 23k votes from fake addresses, 1,500 votes from dead people and thousands more from people who moved out of state. A Nevada judge acknowledged this problem, but rejected the Trump Team’s request to decertify, expressing concern that it was too late to know which votes were the bogus ones. The judge was unquestionably wrong to ignore the fact that we really don’t know who legitimately won the Nevada election, but didn;t want even questionable votes thrown out.Some could argue that since the vast majority of the problems arose in the Democrat strongholds around Las Vegas, that these oddly large numbers of invalid votes were probably intentional and Trump probably actually won. But “probably” isn’t good enough. Nevada is a historically blue state but for all we know a bunch of Trump voters from Biden territory may have cheated. We simply do not know who won the state, which should have done a better job adjudicating ballots. By law, we absolutely must not certify Nevada, as the USSC will uphold if needed.————————————————-Nevada is not even close to the worst of the problems, but before I get into the really bad cheating, I will give full disclosure of my own vantage point. I am neither a Republican nor a Democrat as I hate both parties. I am an Independent with some left-leaning tendencies who voted for Jill Stein in 2016 and wrote-in Bernie Sanders in 2020. I will state upfront that I consider both major party candidates to be detestable and unfit for office, but I recognize that I will need to accept one or the other.So when the non-fixable problems are at a higher number than the margin separating the frontrunners in an election, we can’t just guess or default to whatever candidate is the same party as the state governor. Just because Biden makes a fiberboard sign that says “Office of the President Elect” doesn’t make it so nor does the media determine who wins. Both sides say “We won!” but neither can prove it.Republicans think that since the falsifications almost entirely seem to favor Biden and/or be from Democrat-heavy precincts, then we should assume all ineligible votes are for Biden and throw out whatever number of Biden votes equals the ineligible votes. But we don’t know all invalid ballots are for Biden and throwing out votes arbitrarily looks and smells an awful lot like disenfranchisement. Election results don’t hinge on whose fault it is either. Nevada must be decertified, not given to Trump.One option is the dreaded do-over of voting all over again. That is a tough pill to swallow, although it might be easier for Georgia which already has a special election on the docket. For most states, this will not be a viable option in the time available, especially since they would ostensibly need to correct the problems that caused the re-vote in the first place. Still, if a state re-votes it could restore a fair election. Otherwise, the Constitution does have a remedy for an election that does not clearly and legally show a winner by the majority of electors: The House makes the decision.The Attorneys General of eighteen states (TX, AL, AR, FL, SD, ND, LA, MO, SC, NE, KS, TN, IN, WV, MS, MT, UT and OK) have sued 4 states - PA, MI, WI and GA for flagrant misconduct altering the election results. The USSC refused to take the case based on Texas not having standing, not on the merits, but the enormity of the coalition foretells the level of opposition to the election fraud.Those 4 states might be specified because they all found themselves with Trump well ahead at the close of election day, then inexplicably called a stoppage to vote counting (which NEVER happens on an election night) then sent poll watchers home and then all 4 of them suddenly had huge numbers come in for Biden while no (or minimal) GOP poll watchers were around to see what happened. This is illegal and these states do not have the option of just ignoring the law and proceeding as if the fraud didn’t happen. In addition, there were well documented refusals to allow observation without fake closure of voting, particularly in PA and Michigan. Philadelphia and Detroit are known for shady elections, but this was beyond the pale, even for them.PENNSYLVANIA - The worst offender was Pennsylvania, although Michigan is right there with them. PA is also the least cooperative in transparent solutions such as recounts or forensic analysis or audits. They could be de-certified for multiple reasons, in addition to the refusal to allow observers to gain meaningful access to the process as required by law.By far the most grievously brazen act of sedition involves crooked PA Democrats trucking hundreds of thousands of ballots into the Commonwealth from New York State. We knew there was a sudden influx of thousands of ballots that were all or nearly all for Biden but we all thought they were coming in from around southeast Pennsylvania. There were also the postal workers who were told to backdate ballots that were not mailed by November 3rd and, of course, the many videos of PA vote “counters” sitting there filling out ballots after ballot as the cameras rolled.No, this was even more horrific. As whistleblowers by the thousands came forward, Jessie Morgan, a truckdriver told of his cargo consisting of 24 pallets of ballots in Gaylord boxes. He had roughly 130k to 288k ballots, every one of them actually prepared in another state, with no connection to Pennsylvania. His trip originated in Bethpage, NY, went to Harrisburg and then to Lancaster, PA. This shipment took place in October.His story checks out, as all big truck transports are heavily documented. He has shipping papers, loaders/unloaders, freight inspectors, highway tolls and weigh stations and constant GPS tracking - all corroborating his account. Even if they try to dismiss it by some insane excuse, they would need to provide evidence for the ballots going from PA to NY, to avoid what certainly looks like votes fraudulently created in another state. There is no question this happened and he said there were others with similar loads leaving Bethpage, which are being researched. Biden is only leading by about 80k, so his one truck alone flips the state.As it stands, Democrats and the USPS have no answer as to why anyone was trucking votes to PA from NY, but I assure you they are desperately trying to invent an answer. There is no feasible reason why votes would ever be trucked across state lines. Even if there was some crazy excuse, there are serious chain of custody issues involved, since the trailer of ballots literally disappeared with no record, just as one of the PA Dominion voting tabulators disappeared with no record of what happened.If Pennsylvania is not decertified then we may as well admit that we no longer have a democracy and proceed as liberty valuing Patriots do when subjugated by autocrats.The problems don’t end in PA with refusal to allow observers near the counting tables, backdating ballots, videos of people filling out hundreds of ballots and trucking in hundreds of thousands of ballots created and fraudulently completed in another state. There is also the minor detail that unsolicited mail-in ballots are unconstitutional in PA. Like Nevada and all of the other disputed states, there are also ineligible ballots enough to more than double the margin separating Biden and Trump. And yes, it was PA where they found discarded mostly-Trump votes and where a truck driver was found discarding tens of thousands of ballots on election night.GEORGIA - As the only disputed state with a Republican governor and legislature, you might expect more fair electoral practices in the Peach state, but you still have Fulton County and a voting center at State Farm Arena run by local Democrat partisans. In addition to adding easy-to-defraud mail-in ballots and a state fully outfitted with new expensive Dominion/Pelosi/Feinstein cheating software machines, another new feature of this year’s fiasco of an election is “consolidation” into centralized poll centers. Somehow Democrats convinced the SOS that crowding the whole state’s election into one packed room filled with people from all over was less of a covid superspreader than rural county separation.So just like its counterparts in PA, MI and WI, the State Farm Arena was closed down on election night, yet continued working with no GOP poll watchers or press around - as Biden’s numbers suddenly took an unnatural spike as has never been seen until 2020. Some Republican poll challengers who say they had been sent away saw that Biden’s numbers were rising at 1 am while the voting center was supposedly closed, so they rushed back to hear by security guards that the others had just left. These whistleblowers were called liars.Unfortunately for the cheating Democrats, four routine security cameras captured everything and we can all readily see what took place. The Republican challengers were absolutely right. All poll watchers and press (Fox News) left the facility all at once as did most poll workers. Six election workers stayed behind but sat around doing nothing until all other eyes had picked up belongings and exited. Then they immediately sprang into action, pulling suitcases filled with ballots out to each of 4 counting tables. These suitcases are the normal ballot carriers, not tourist suitcases, but the point is that the law requires both parties present and that was no longer the case. On the videos we also see the Republican poll watchers returning in the early morning, just after the cheaters had left - just as they said happened. This secretive processing involved 24k ballots illegally counted in a state Biden “won” by just 12k votes.Georgia Ballot Counting Fraud at State Farm Arena (Full Version) - Bing videoCorrupt GA officials are claiming that the behavior on the videos was “normal” and that the poll watchers and press, as well as most counters, supposedly all suddenly left on their own without being told to leave. However, there is no question that there were no poll watchers present, which automatically renders the counted ballots, the vast majority of which went for Biden, invalid. They wouldn’t have hidden their activity, in ways that they know are felonious and outright sedition, unless they were hiding something such as ballots they knew were fraudulent. GA elections supervisor Gabriel Sterling insisted that he reviewed the video “frame by frame” and it was without incident. Sterling MUST be fired before the January 5th election.One of the cheating vote counters in the smoking gun video, Ruby Freeman, was in fact, on Instagram bragging about her cheating while doing it. We can literally watch her as she knowingly runs Biden votes through the tabulator up to 20 times per ballot while we watch. This cheater was arrested, of course, but Patriots are calling for the arrest of her supervisor who turned out to be Freeman’s daughter, Shaye Moss. Moss was running the entire operation at the time as she kicked everyone out and she was the one pulling the cases of ballots out from under the cloth they were hidden under. Moss also is seen on another video slipping a USB drive into the pocket of an unidentified man.Georgia poll worker lawyers up after getting CAUGHT (Election 2020) - Bing videoGA did allow recounts, but the nonsense only got worse because poll watchers could not be forced to leave by fake water leak disasters. So both parties just fought and argued bitterly as ballots were not actually counted. On smaller stacks, legitimate counting could be seen, but on larger stacks of ballots little effort was given to pretend to be counting, as numbers were simply matched to the target numbers. There was no real recount in GA, according to affidavits. In the recounts, they did find thousands of ballots not even scanned as well as a USB drive not counted.Despite Governor Kemp demanding signature verifications to determine if the allegations are true, Georgian election officials refused to do any such investigation and have fought bitterly to not only prevent forensic analysis of the Dominion voting machines but to erase all evidence on the machines. As in the other states, GA allowed “upgrades” to the software the night before the elections, and contrary to law they did not get re-certified after the tampering. They did find at least one case of Dominion switching a vote from Trump to Biden and there are indications of outside interference over the internet by sources in Iran and China, who seem to be more able to directly control our voting than American citizens do.Vote counters complained that thousands of the ballots appeared to be Xeroxed copies of each other, all having the same exact “eclipse” of open white space inside of the otherwise blackened Biden oval. These copies were using different paper than normal ballots and, as copies, they all voted for Biden and Biden only. Rejection rates were statistically insane in all swing states, but normal in non-swing states. In Fulton County GA in 2016 the rejection rate was 5.77%, which is only a bit high, but in 2020, despite so many mail-in ballots which usually account for nearly all rejections, was just 0.4% - an incredibly low number.It is easy to cheat on military absentee ballots because they need to be transcribed from the email form to the paper ballots that can run through a machine. The transcription must only happen when both parties are confirming an accurate translation, but with GA sneaking in vote processing with nobody watching, we certainly can’t say that happened, so it is the honor system. The result was either cheating or an overwhelming support for Biden among military personnel, who strongly favored Trump in other states, by some 25% typically. One county in Georgia had 900–0 in favor of Biden, which is an unthinkably impossible statistic, so it is almost certainly fraudulent.Georgia is also the state where people were completing mail-in ballots the day they had the ballot mailed to them somehow, or the day after or even completed ballots days BEFORE the ballot was mailed to them. In addition, we have 96,600 ballots that were never mailed. FYI, since ballots come 600 to a box, any exact multiple of 600 is considered (at 0.17% chance of happening) a sign of fraudulent ballots, so there were almost certainly 96,600 faked ballots in Georgia, well beyond the 12k separation.This is in addition to the 24k ballots - twice the separation between Trump and Biden - seen on security video and Instagram being in live action cheating, literally narrating the treason as the ballot boxes were stuffed. The only reason we don’t know with certainty that Trump won Georgia is because too many ineligible voters exist to be absolutely sure.MICHIGAN - Although Michigan has the current widest separation between Trump and Biden among the disputed states, it is also the state where its own election officials are fighting over whether to certify their results. Along with PA, it was the worst for suppressing the GOP poll challengers. I’ll put this simply: Trump won Michigan.It all started with an alert elections clerk from Antrim County, MI who saw her county was won by Biden and questioned it. Trump won the county in 2016 by 30% and it certainly seemed like he had far more support this year. She had it hand counted and, sure enough, Biden’s 29% win was reversed. Trump votes had literally been switched to Biden. A total of 3k votes switched for a 6k swing in a county of 18k voters.The Smartmatic software of the Dominion Voting System used in Antrim County is also used all over the state and the country now. Democrats were uniquely interested in this new software, owned by Democrat Diane Feinstein’s family and run by a former chief of staff for Nancy Pelosi. The software was created for Hugo Chavez in Venezuela, so it was designed for the purpose of sneakily switching votes from one candidate to another. It is now easy to do and hard to detect, since the ballots still add up to the same total number.The official explanation was first a computer “glitch”, which was then switched to clerical error, which was then switched to a third excuse. The SOS now says that the operators in that county failed to change the setting from vote-swapping to, you know, honestly counting. Why anyone outside of an authoritarian dictatorship would be ok with a system that, by default, swaps votes from one candidate to another is difficult to explain.!!! EXCLUSIVE Breaking News !!! Report Backs Allegations of Fraud Against Dominion Voting Systems! - Steve GruberFORENSIC REPORT PROVES DOMINION FRAUD IN ANTERIM COUNTY MICHIGAN (POWELL WAS RIGHT) - Bing videoThe report, now released, says lots of damning things about the Dominion software used in MI and across the country. In Antrim County, the forensic analysts found a 68% error rate, which is thousands of times higher than the maximum allowable 0.0008%. When an “error” occurs, the vote is sent to the adjudication file, which means that a person must determine who the vote is intended to be for. It sounds sensible enough, but the numbers of “errors” are so high and the auditor who has full ability to determine the vote, has no oversight or even a record of who they are.Further, the system is designed to generate these errors as programmed, to force adjudication to allow an end user, perhaps in another location to make the vote count for any candidate they wish. The forensic analysts further concluded that the problem in Antrim county was none of the 3 excuses: Glitch, clerical error or failure to download updated software. Instead it was an intentionally programmed software function allowing some unidentifiable elections clerk the ability to cheat by flipping votes.In addition, the forensic analysis determined that the security log, which would have told them who had access to the Antrim County Dominion machines, was erased and missing for all dates prior to November 5th. All security logs for all Antrim County tabulators were missing all data from November 4th and earlier, including election day on November 3rd. In addition, on November 21st, some unidentified and unauthorized hacker attempted to wipe the records clean but failed. They also noted that the totals for Biden and Trump were changing depending on the date, despite the fact that the total ballots never changed. This is easier to see on the graph on the attached link than it is to explain. Bottom line, what happened in Antrim County could have happened anywhere in Michigan or any state using Dominion, as all swing states were.Yet this is not why two members of the Board of Canvassers in MI refused to certify their own state. They finally agreed under pressure to certify but only on the promise that the mess would be sorted out. When they could see that only further cover-ups were taking place, they tried to un-certify but were told it was too late. One of the two finally gave in while the other continued to refuse to certify and was bypassed. Its your fault for trusting us, they were told, but why DID they object to certifying?Michigan’s vote count is “imbalanced”, which is a sterile way of stating that more people voted than there are voters. In Wayne County alone there are 173k votes for which there are no registrants. I’ll say that again: There are 173k votes tallied for which there are no registrants in a state “won” by 154k votes. Somehow, this group of people who voted all at once were 97% for Biden, an unthinkable ratio and enough to make Michigan red, if corrected. Governor Whitmer is determined to avoid allowing Trump to win Michigan, so even though these votes clearly should be deleted, they simply refuse to remove these votes.In each of these votes the registrant is listed as “0”, the address is listed at the same address on Goddard Street in Detroit and the birth date is 1/1/1990. So I guess there is a really large house on Goddard which has over a hundred thousand residents that are 120 years old - older than the currently oldest known human alive. You wonder how so many precincts can have more voters than registrants in so many states and this is why. It is called stuffing the ballot box - and getting caught.You might think GOP poll challengers would object to running the same ballots through multiple times or Xerox copying fake ballots would be seen. Well, yes there are very many affidavits and testimony to that effect, but most GOP watchers were thrown out. Either they were claimed to be not covid compliant enough or, typically, they had the audacity to complain about the cheating they saw. One, a former Michigan Senator who specializes in election security, pointed out that all computers and tabulators were on the internet, a violation of law and an open door to hacking.WATCH: Former MI State Senator Says Detroit Tabulation Machines Were Illegally Connected to the Web - National FileAnother whistleblower not only confirmed the ballot stuffing but also noticed that her ballots, that were supposedly mailed-in, had sequential voter ID numbers. This would be impossible of mailed ballots which would be random. She also noted numerous votes without a registrant, which had the Goddard Street Address and a birth date of 1/1/1900. These votes were simply “NIS/PB” *Not in System/Poll Book” and yet counted as if they involved an actual registered voter.These fraudulent ballots with no registered voters attached all arrived late at night after most GOP challengers were thrown out and only a few who were minorities who had no badge on were there to see anything. It was Detroit in which the cheaters posted cardboard over the windows to prevent anyone seeing their cheating and cheered when any GOP poll challenger was ejected.As with the other disputed states, Trump was comfortably ahead in Michigan, then the counting was stopped and GOP poll watchers were told free meals were out in the hall. When they left, they were not allowed back in, citing covid concerns that apparently only affect Republicans. Biden suddenly shot way up in his numbers as poll workers reported going through box after box of ballots with no vote selected except Biden, and with the Biden oval appearing to be Xeroxed and machine made, as the filled in oval on all ballots appeared to be “perfect” every time. These added tens of thousands of ballots or more were brought in through the back door from vans with out-of-state plates. You can see the physically impossible leap for Biden at 4 am on this now-famous graph.We can’t even begin to get into the rash of voter intimidation, voter suppression, vote harvesting, vote buying and ballot manufacturing made easy by unsolicited mail-in ballots. I will note that some of the claims of illegal votes has been disputed in some states, but this election is by far the most corrupted in history and beyond repair.The USSC will probably need to decertify NV, GA, PA and MI. They certainly should do so.

It incredibly ironic that you wrote this question while I was actually watching the movie Recount w/Kevin Spacey. It is about the entire process after the 2000 presidential election in determining who really won the state of Florida and it's 25 electoral votes, which would make either Bush or Gore the next president. This battle went on for an absolutely unprecedented five weeks after election day. Bush had his brother Jeb, who was the Governor of the state of Florida, the Secretary of State of Florida was Kathleen Harris, who was Bush's Florida campaign chairman, and there's no doubt to anyone who followed what happened during those five weeks that Bush stole the election from Gore, and the final official tally of I think 537 votes which Bush supposedly one by, even if that was true, showed how truly unbelievably close that election was. There were approximately 6 million votes cast in Florida, and Bush officially one by .0000895%. That was the difference that was certified by Kathleen Harris. At one point during the recount the Bush lead dropped to 114 votes which is a truly stunning victory of .000019% of the votes cast.If what happened in that state does not give you a better example of how a presidential election can be stolen by fraud nothing will.It would be actually easier for you to watch the movie then for me to explain it because it is so filled with changing events on almost a daily basis during that five-week period, which included numerous different recounts, numerous court cases on the state level and up to the Florida Supreme Court and then eventually the US Supreme Court.Under every possible scenario, if a full state wide recount was done, Gore would've been elected and we would've never had the nightmare of George W. Bush's presidency for eight years. There would be more than 1 million civilians who would still be alive in Iraq, 7000 United States servicemen who would still be alive let alone the $1.6 trillion dollars that was spent on those two wars. The Iraqi invasion is considered by many to be the biggest blunder in American history.Everything possible went against Gore during the election. First of all Kathleen Harris and department state of Florida paid a consulting company $4.3 million to strike 20,000 names from the voter rolls, as convicted felon's cannot vote in Florida, and they were told to be very liberal in the listing of the names so there were thousands of mostly black voters and black voters generally vote Democratic, who were not allowed to vote that day because their name was similar to someone on that list. Remembering all these examples I'm giving, all I need to show is how Gore could've gained 538 votes. That was one simple way if that egregious violation of those thousands of African-Americans right to vote had not been stymied.Inw one county, Pat Buchanan, Who is extremely conservative was running on his own party line, as many people do in our presidential elections. In modern history it has always been either a Republican or a Democrat who won.. But there are numerous other very small parties that also have people running in presidential elections but they are never a serious contender. But in this case you had Ralph Nader, who is been a long time American activist, running on when I guess was the biggest of those smaller parties which was the Green party. Since his policies were similar to Democrats, actually even more liberal, by his running in a race he knew he could not win, thousands of votes in every state that would've gone to go or if Nader had not run, went to Nader instead and the number of votes in Florida alone that meter received which was in the thousands would have almost all gone to Gore if he had not run and that's another way core would've won Florida. With Pat Buchanan, the people voting in that particular county where they were using what was called a butterfly ballot which was confusing to many of the older motors there. I'm talking about several thousand again. It's difficult for me to explain without you seeing a picture of the ballot, but for an older person who generally can't see very well, it was easy to make the mistake of waiting for Buchanan instead of Gore. Buchanan did far better in that one county then he did anywhere else in the state or the country. Even he admitted that most of the votes he receives in the county were meant for Gore. And again just 1000 of those thousands of votes that mistakenly went to Buchanan instead of Gore, cost Gore the election that way.Besides those two obvious aspects you had a situation where the major television networks have for decades jointly employed a company called VNS or voter news service, Who with sophisticated pulling techniques which generally involve exit polling which means when people are leaving a polling place a person comes up to them and ask them who they voted for. Using a statistical formula, the networks via VNS are aware of who is going to win a lot of the states before the polls ever clothes and any votes are ever counted, because of this exit polling. That is why they are able to predict states the minute after they close the polls in that state. It's not that they are waiting for 8 o'clock or 9 o'clock so that now the returns can start coming in. They are simply using journalist ethics and they already know who they're going to call many of the states for before the polls are closed but if they announce that before the closing time, it could be argued very reasonably that that information with then affect voters who had not yet voted. For example if Florida had been called for Gore at five in the afternoon when they already had enough data to show with almost complete certainty that court was going to win, why would any bush voters bother going to the polls at that point? The argument against that is that it would also stop Gore go to hers from going because people from either side Woodnell think their vote didn't matter anymore. Regardless, the calling of states by the news organizations is never done until the polls are closed in that state. In many states VNS has already predicted a winner in the afternoon, but that information as I said he's not released until the polls are all closed in that state. Obviously with Florida and other very close states they didn't need to wait for the actual returns and 2000 there were three unprecedented events done by the media since the history of the Ennis exit polling in predicting. For the first time ever they declared a state for a candidate and then retracted that prediction putting the state back in the two close to call column. That is what initially happen early on when all the networks called Florida for Gore. The predictions of VNS in all 50 states in every presidential election since they started, have never once been incorrect. You could always take it to the bank that between the VNS and the networks own prediction Center, that when a network called a race for a particular candidate they were wrecked, and as I said up until 2000 there had never been a mistake. After Gore was pronounced the winner in Florida by all the news agencies, the Bush campaign, mainly Karl Rove, started calling all of the networks and telling them that they had decided Florida way too soon. And in fact they did. It's not that Bush would have warmed up winning Florida if there was a full and complete honest recount. Because that has been shown since then by every newsagency using every formulation possible that core wouldn't won the election if a full recount was allowed. But it was certainly to close even assuming that core would have won the state, it would've not been by a large amount, so when they call this I think around 10 PM Eastern time for Gore it was calling it too soon. So the networks were all very embarrassed to have to retract that and their map of the United States where they light up each state as read for republican or blue for Democrat, when the state schools, they had to now change the color of Florida from blue back to neutral or black. There is also another area that doesn't get a lot of attention but that it was Bush's first cousin who was at the prediction desk for FOXNews. There really isn't much doubt in this country at Fox news, owned by the extremely conservative billionaire Rupert Murdoch, is a news station that is highly skewed towards conservatives and Republicans and against Democrats and liberals.So not only did you have such an unprecedented storm of events all with that one state that the side of the entire election, from when I said earlier about the governor of that state being the brother of one of the two candidates, the person certifying the election, the secretary of state of Florida, being the chairman of the Florida Bush campaign, which I've never heard anyone mention why that was not prohibited as there was clearly a conflict of interest. And then you had, even if all the boats were properly counted, and insanely close election among 6 million voters in a very large state. To be decided by even a couple of thousand votes out of 6 million is almost as unlikely as being struck by lightning.I'm going to give you more examples as to how the election was stolen from Gore, but I'll mention one thing that Gore hurt himself with which was the fact that since the winner needed 270 electoral votes and I'm not sure if you completely understand the way the voting works for presidential elections in the United States. Basically, the popular vote or the total vote is completely irrelevant. I know it seems to make no sense and it's in the constitution and a very archaic way of deciding elections that has to do with that there were many small Southern states at the time who felt by using the total vote method it would be unfair to them and at that time blacks were obviously not allowed to vote and as slaves they were considered 2/5 of a person. Another great piece of American history. Anyway, each of the 50 states based on population is given a certain number of electoral votes. So what can happen is and it's happened three times before which is someone can win the popular vote but lose the election because they lost the electoral college votes. It's basically 50 winner take all states elections. Core had beaten bush that year by about 500,000 popular votes and and any other democratic country in the world that would've been the end of the story and he would've one fairly easily. But in the United States the popular vote has no legal significance. This was the first time it is happened in modern US history. This is why Florida was so crucial. If they were only counting the popular votes or could've cared less whether he won Florida by 5000 or lost Florida by 5000. This would not have put a dent into his 500,000 vote lead.basically what can happen is somebody wins a lot of large electoral college states, such as New York, California, Texas, Florida, Illinois, etc. by very small margins and if he wins those states and a few others he will have the necessary 270 electoral votes. He might get crushed in the 40 small states which could cause him to greatly lose the popular vote but he'll win the election because he has more elect oral votes. I don't know how hard this is to understand. I remember hearing that during that 24 hour a day coverage for five weeks of the 2000 presidential election, which was covered all over the world, that many European news stations had to take a great deal of time to explain to their viewers our very strange system of voting. Well I think it's insane and completely archaic, I honestly don't think it's that hard to figure out. But obviously it was very difficult for people all over the world. So I hope you at least understand my explanation of the Electoral College.By the way, this is the reason that candidates don't spend a lot of time campaigning in states like California or New York because for decades now those two states, while having very large electoral value, have been solidly been for the Democrat while Texas has solidly been for the Republican. As a matter fact, as somebody who works in politics and is an attorney and always voted, I don't even bother voting in Presidential Elections at least until something changes because a New York State it's a given right now under the current political climate that for example in November, whether it's Hillary or Sanders, that person will definitely win New York State. So as a New Yorker, my vote is incidental because as I explained the popular vote is completely incidental and non-consequential so if the state of New York is so consistently in the Democratic calm for so many years now, what does my vote really matter? Who knows 20 years from now that the political climate of New York might be different. Generally it is the states in the north east part of the country including New York and New Jersey as well as the coats the states on the West Coast such as California, Oregon and Washington and then sometimes a few states in the Midwest such as Ohio, Illinois and Minnesota that generally go towards the Democrat. Even after the last presidential election in 2012, if you look at the colorized map afterwards you would see what seems like a clearly Red colored country. Red as I said is the color they use for Republican victories. But while there might be 35 or 38 of the states that are red they are all a very small population and many of them are actually very large geographically such as Montana and North and South Dakota so it appears to be is overwhelming swath of Republican votes and you would think how did Obama win, but if you looked at the population of all of those Red colored states he would see how small it is compared to the blue states he won. With this system however, it also really does not matter so much what the national polling data is showing before the election because again you can win the popular vote of the nation and lose the election and lose the popular vote of the nation and win the election. A much more important thing that the experts look at before the election or what the individual state polls are showing in the battleground states. Battleground states are the ones that are often up in the air and do not assistant we go for either the Republicans or the Democrats and is fairly evenly divided politically among Republicans and Democrats and those are the states that the candidates for Bentley fight over. Such as Ohio, which without winning that state no Republican has ever won the general election. Pennsylvania is another one Minnesota, and others. For a full explanation of the electoral college system I would suggest looking up on Wikipedia. I'm sure it's explain their very well with graphics.As I was going to say, bush where was up with 271 electoral votes. He needed 270. The fewest electoral votes any state has is three. The number of electoral votes of the state is determined by population which is reflected in the number of members of the House of Representatives that that state is allocated +2 senators. So you have several states that are so sparsely populated that they actually only have one member of the House. So you add that one plus the two senators and you have a total of three electoral votes. Washington DC which is not a state is awarded three electoral votes in a presidential election. So gore only needed to win any other state that he lost to have one this election regardless of Florida. And in addition to the states that generally have always voted for one party, the most important state that the candidate also counts on as almost a guarantee is their home state. Core was from Tennessee and when he was elected Tennessee was much more democratic and that's how he got elected. But during his eight years as vice president the demographics and political ideology in Tennessee changed, where it became a solid Republican state. Even so, in past elections the state the candidate comes from even if it now has a political ideology that is different from the candidate who is from there now, they still generally in this particular election will vote against their politics and vote for their local politician I think in part because of fried of wanting the next president to of been from their state and also because they may believe that if they elect him he will more likely pay attention to his Home state, such as funding and infrastructure and other projects where he has discretion and me favor his home state. In this case Gore lost Tennessee. Extremely unusual as I said for any candidate to lose their home state. So if core had simply one his home state, nothing that happened in Florida ever would've mattered. That would've put gore over the 270 Mark and the 25 votes of Florida would have been incidental.So you had 20,000 people who may have been disenfranchised because they were wrongly deemed convicted felon's, you had the brother of one of the candidates as the chief executive of the state in question, the person responsible for certifying the election in that state happened to be the candidates' chairman of that state, you had the problem with the butterfly ballots and all of those folks that went mistakenly to Buchanan instead of Gore, and then the very political decisions made by both the Florida Supreme Court and the US Supreme Court which followed.After the networks put the Florida results back into the too close to call column they then sort of evened out their mistake when around 2 AM Eastern time, they then awarded the state to Bush and pronounced bush and the winner of the election. Gore then actually called Bush to concede which is a formality that happens every election night and gore started traveling in his motorcade, to the area in Nashville, Tennessee where his supporters were waiting all night, expecting to have a celebration if core one and he would be there to announce either his victory speech or his concession speech. The same thing with bush in Texas.While going to the stage in Nashville and about to publicly can see the election, his staff was looking at the numbers in Florida very carefully and then they believe, just as the bush can't believe earlier in the night, that the networks wrongly called the state for Bush. Absolutely unprecedented and incredible. So this was Jestice sulfones were starting to become more widely used but nothing like today and they had a difficult time getting in contact with Gore as he was getting ready to make is concession speech which if he did and the entire country then saw it, it would have been extremely difficult to walk that back and then contest the election. So literally just before he was about to walk on the stage with his wife Tipper, One of his aides relayed the message to him to not concede and that Florida was still in play and too close to call.The networks for about 45 minutes were all outside of that Nashville stage area saying that or was supposed to be giving his concession speech any minute now but the minutes kept passing and he never appeared. And finally the core campaign notified the networks that they called Florida too soon for Bush now and Gore did something also unprecedented which was to call Bush back, and actually retract his concession. Parent Lee from people who were standing around the two candidates in Texas and you can Tennessee the conversation was not very polite and Bush said something like, "Let me get this straight. You're calling me back to take it back your concession?" And Gore said something like, "you don't have to get so snippy."So now the networks were really looking stupid and gore went back to his campaign headquarters and left the stage without ever speaking to his supporters. Later on, surrogates for each of the two candidates, when it became clear that the election was not going to be decided that night as it almost always is, they went on stage and spoke on behalf of their candidate saying that the election would not be decided that night and basically telling everyone to go home.So then the five weeks of back-and-forth battle started. Since even according to Florida's initial count the lead was so small that under Florida law any state wide race where the margin of victory is less than one half of 1% requires an automatic recount. But that recount which was done initially, was done all through the machines. In other words the ballots were not looked at again. They were simply just fed through the machine readers again. The tally changed a little bit but the lead was still Bush's.One of the main focuses of the recount had to do with a type of balance that was used in many of the counties in the word Chad became a new lexicon in United States vocabulary. These ballots involve something out looks like an index card where it is placed or inserted under a device that lists the candidate names and the boater then uses an instrument to make a hole in the name of the person they are voting for which then is supposed to correspond with the perforated rectangular shape Chad on the index card underneath. The problem is that many of these Chad did not fully get dislodged from the card. And yes the plural of Chad is Chad. So there were no things that were called dimpled Chad, partial Chad, pregnant Chad and something else I forget. What would happen is if that little tiny rectangular Chad was not fully dislodged from the card and was still hanging on the sea by one side, when fed through the machine, the machine would often push the Chad back into place as if it had never been punched out at all and therefore that vote did not count. And there were other cases where the Chad was not dislodged at all but upon looking at the card you could see that it was either dimpled or pregnant which meant that there was some kind of indentation in it which gave a circular impression but those ballots certainly were read by the machine as non-votes. And then you had under votes and over votes. Under votes is when the machine recorded that there was no vote for president which often in that case involved a Chad which had not been dislodged fully in the machine incorrectly registered it and over votes were when more than one presidential candidate was chosen and those votes were all voided.So over the suing weeks different counties were doing different kinds of recounts, and the types of ballots differed from county to county, and it created this huge mess. And we were talking about a difference of about 500 votes at this time which was so incredibly small that properly recounting votes manually instead of just feeding them through the machines again could certainly change the tally greatly. There were these famous pictures during that month of November where you would see election officials holding these cards up to the light and using magnifying glasses to try to determine whether there was any indentation in the shed even though it had not been punched out, to indicate the intent of the voter.this became a huge legal contention once it started getting into the court system. What standard should be used to determine whether or not a ballot should count and who would should count for. Florida election law was kind of contradictory. Since 1917 it's stated that even if the voter ignored the instructions on how to vote, if it could be determined what their intent was, the vote should count. But they also said in Florida, under their election law that Chad's that were not fully displaced should not count. It was an interesting point when The Gore camp looked at election laws in other states that used Chad and came across Texas, which at the time was when Bush was the governor of. And the law in Texas stated that any type of indentation on the Chad indicates what that voter was trying to do and should count as a vote for the candidate. And the governor who signed that bill into law was none other than George W. Bush.This was a public relations nightmare for the Bush camp because how could they argue reasonably that the Chad that wasn't fully displaced from the card should not count when their own candidate signed a law saying it should. Now state law does not have any binding precedent on another state. Or a sister state. It is used for persuasive value but is not dispositive. When you have a precedent from your own state or the Supreme Court or the federal appeals court in your circuit, those judicial decisions are binding and act as law. This just added even more confusion.Then another area of contention revolved around absentee ballots. Absentee ballots are issued by all states to people who request them who will not be in the state on election day and therefore they mail in their vote to the board of elections in their state. From wherever they currently are. There are also military absentee ballots. This now was another public relations battle because first of all the military, which in the United States is all voluntary, tends to heavily lean Republican in their political views. So the bush camp clearly wanted all military absentee ballots to be counted. The problem was that the law stated that an absentee ballot from someone in the military serving a broad had to be postmarked by the date of the election. Many of these weren't and a lot of them that were not were because there was no place to get postmark, such as sailors voting from a submarine. Obviously there is no post office there and the mail is delivered by boats coming to the submarines every so often and then relayed to the US Postal Service which can obviously be days after the boat because initially cast by the member of the military. So that is why there is a secondary way to ensure the date of the boat which is on the bottom of the election card there is a place for a person to sign as a witness and put the date that the balance was filled out. This would also satisfy The postmark requirement. However there were hundreds of ballots that came in, which were mostly for Bush, that had neither a postmark or that signature and date on the bottom. So according to Florida law they should not have counted at all. But the VP candidate of Gore which was senator Joseph Lieberman made a huge faux pas when he went on meet the press, a major political show on Sunday mornings and when asked about whether military voters who sends an absentee ballots without a postmark or a date written should be counted he said that we should give the benefit of the doubt to someone in the military. And the Gore camp went bananas over that statement because now you had Gores running me saying that they should count these military ballots. And therefore it was impossible to walk that back and they had to then concede in allowing all military ballots to be counted gave Bush more votes.During the ensuing weeks there were several cases that went to the Florida Supreme Court which generally favored Gore and the deadlines were extended for the accounting process. Finally in December, after the Florida Supreme Court ruled that there could be a full recounts in the counties that Gore requested, James Baker, former Secretary of State, was the person basically running this post election operation for Bush.So while Florida was instructed by there Supreme Court to do this full recount by hand in those particular counties, Baker had his team of attorneys file a suit with the Supreme Court of the United States to halt the recounts operation. There was no real legal argument for this. The legal threshold is if the Supreme Court does not act, will there be "a reparable damage?" Even the bush legal team did not think this was a very viable argument to make to the Supreme Court. How could recounting votes cause a reparable damage to anybody?So initially the Supreme Court ruled to put a stay on the Florida recount just before the almost finished. They were four counties that were recounting at the time and two of them had finished which had taken about 400 votes off of bushes 537 vote lead and clearly if the other two counties had been allowed to finish, it was extremely likely they are new recount would've put Gore ahead.December 12 was also a very important day. As the president takes office on January 20 and during the period from election day until then which is approximately three months, that is when he is very busy with his transition team and hiring thousands of people and nominating his full cabinet and other important people in the administration. I'm not sure exactly where the December 12 lot is written but that is considered the "Safeharbor" deadline which basically meant that the election was supposed to be certified by that date.So then Bush petitioned the Supreme Court to force Florida to know certified the election and permanently stop the recount. And this was the most disturbing part of that entire process. A quick explanation of politics in this country is necessary. Republicans generally believe in states rights over the Federal government. They have always been for smaller government and for more decisions to be made on the local level and want the federal government's power rained in. While Democrats generally believe in the federal government having more power and being bigger and having the final say over many matters.Here bush, Republican, was asking the Supreme Court to go against his political views which says the court generally should not overrule a state decision, but to do so in this case, obviously because it would help him and Gore then had to take the position that the Florida Supreme Court ruling should stand which basically goes against his ideology that the federal government has the right to overrule a particular state.At that point in time the Supreme Court of United States was equally divided, almost. There were four members who generally voted liberal he or democratically and for justices who generally voted conservatively or Republican. Then there was Anthony Kennedy, the ninth judge and often the tiebreaker. He had been the tiebreaker before and after then so many times but never on such an incredibly important case which would decide the next president of the United States. He tended more often than not to go with the Republicans but in many cases he did side with the Democrat ideology. And in the end, it was that one man's decision, Anthony Kennedy, that ruled 5 to 4 in the Supreme Court in a very confusing and complicated decision, but the bottom line of the decision was that Bush would be the next president. And that was pretty much that.I'm a liberal Democrat so this might have come off a little skewed towards Gore but I think I gave a very fair analysis. As a Democrat however ice strongly dislike Hillary Clinton and do not want to see her as president although I guess I would prefer that over any of these Republican clans. I really would like to see Bernie Sanders very much be president. One of the things that Hilary has been attacked on is that she has very little record of accomplishing anything, especially after she was elected to the United States Senate in that same election in 2000 which basically got very little attention the next day because of this can precedented undecided presidential election. But that was a big deal, for the first time ever a First Lady not only got elected to public office but elected to be a US senator from a very large state, New York. One of the things that was talked about in the aftermath of this mess was that we finally had to get rid of this electoral college system. Nobody thought it made sense anymore and again the reasons for it have to do with small populated southern states and slavery and Innoway it really was actually a racist voting system. But we just became so used to it over the years and decades that no one ever really stop to question how stupid it was at this time now with no more slavery. But nobody ever did anything about it. Hillary Clinton in January of 2001 stated publicly that this was going to be a major project of hers. Do you have the constitution amended to remove the electoral college system and have the elections based on the simple popular vote. This is what she said but never did anything about it in her entire tenure in the Senate.John Paul Stevens, who has since retired from the Supreme Court but was on the court for that decision, has always been one of my favorite justices and ironically he was appointed by a Republican president, Gerald Ford, but almost always took a liberal positions. In his dissent he wrote, "the biggest loser in this case is the American people's faith in the judicial system."I hope that sort of answers your question.
