Which countries have a ‘Greater’ map of their ideal or lost territories?

All these answers are very good, but they’re all of the same type. I shall posit an answer that is relevant to the question but is in a completely different form.SingaporeThis is the map of Singapore based on Allied military planning in 1945:This is Singapore in 2017. You’ll notice what we have done to the place. The map below shows just how much land has been reclaimed from the sea.Singapore, as a small island with high population density, began land reclamation plans to compensate for the limited land area from independence in 1965, filling in the sea with sand purchased from Malaysia and subsequently Indonesia, Vietnam and now Cambodia. Almost all the reclaimed land is allocated for industrial and shipping purposes, but many places iconic to modern Singapore are also sitting on reclaimed land:Marina Bay Sands and the Singapore Flyer:Gardens by the Bay, Cloud and Flower Domes, The SupertreesPort of SingaporeChangi AirportThese and more only exist due to reclaimed land. However, now we come to the point where I answer the question: Does Singapore have a “Greater” map of her ideal or lost territories?Yes!Et viola! We’re not done reclaiming! The long term plan is to reclaim to the extent planned below, with the Port of Singapore shifted from its current location in the south to more reclaimed land in the west and replaced with a green belt stretching all the way from Changi Airport in the East to the southern tip of the main island. The final projection is for reclaimed land to comprise of up to 20% of Singapore’s territory. However, this is not without major controversy, the main 3 are below:1. Geopolitics: Both Malaysia and Indonesia have expressed concern that Singapore is illegitimately increasing her territorial waters via reclamation of land, a charge that Singapore doesn’t do a lot to deny. (You think what Vietnam and China does in the SCS is new? Please, we’re the real pioneers, we did it before Vietnam dreamt of trying, and wayyy before China thought to fight back)2. Local Ecological damage: It is obvious enough that land reclamation must by default be coastal, and reclamation efforts have done irreparable damage to the coastal ecosystem of Singapore. In the modern age of environmental activism, increased awareness of the damage has led to plans being shelved for the reclamation of Chek Jawa, mangrove wetlands located on Pulau Ubin (one of the two main islands in the north), and leading the area to be declared a nature reserve.Much of the reclamation plans on the south of the island though will likely go ahead, on the basis that previous reclamation as well as the density of the shipping in the Straits of Singapore have all but obliterated the ecology there.3. Regional ecological damage: Selling Sand is a big business. in 2014, it was noted that Singapore is the world’s largest importer of sand, and was recorded to have imported 14 million tons in 2010. This has lead to companies strip mining land for the sand, and consequently the outright ban of the sale of sand from first Malaysia (1997), Indonesia (2007), Vietnam (2009), Cambodia (partial ban, 2009) on the basis that the sand mining was doing irreparable damage to the environment. Sand mining corporations in Indonesia had stripped several islands bare to provide sand to Singapore, and Sand Mining in Cambodia’s Tatai river have dramatically decreased the populations of local wildlife. Current sources are largely kept secret. Since 2016, Singapore has been experimenting with the Polder Development Method to reduce her reliance on sand exports, since the bans from her immediate neighbours had greatly complicated the cost effectiveness of reclamation projects. So there you have it, a very different way to answer the question. Where others seek to regain what was lost, Singapore seeks to establish what she can gain.

Why does plastic have to sorted in order to be recycled? Can't they just melt all the different kinds together and make a product?

That would be a form of recycling, maybe not the best. We must work towards a recycling-reuse -reclamation plan for as much as possible.
