I am currently working as a Bank PO in a nationalised bank, so I guess I can answer this question.Rural postings to far flung areas where there is acute shortage of electricity, healthy food, no decent place to live. You just have to work for the bank doesn't matter how you sustain yourself once you are out of the branch.Dealing with blank illiterate people everyday, printing 50–60 passbooks and after that explaining them their balance and why their old age pension has not been credited to their account from last 3 months or so (which is the task of state/central govt pension department and not of banks).Acute shortage of staff. There is so much load on an individual officer that he has to see all the work from making payments to printing passbooks, account opening, issuing ATM cards, internet banking, generating green atm pins to customers, handling their complaints regarding POS or ATM transaction, cash replenishment into atm, Aadhar seeding, doing Pradhan mantri Suraksha beema Yojana and Atal pension Yojana. This becomes a heck of a workload and you are least expected to go on leave.Unrealistic targets. It is very difficult to get a good number of ATM cards and internet banking issued where 90% of the customers are illiterate. And guess what, you are not permitted to mark EOD unless you give a desired number to the management in the evening. So get ready to sit till 8 and sometimes even 9 pm (now a practice).Poor network. Most of the times customers just pile up in front of your counter to hear that there's a connectivity problem with the server. Customers readily think that you are fooling them around and don't buy your words.Often you have to go for recovery for loan amounts and mostly non working Saturdays and Sundays are fixed for the task.Lost respect. People are ready to fight with you for their failed ATM transaction which deducted money from their account. They are not ready to bear 15 - 21 days time period required to escalate their problem and get a resolution.Poor infrastructure. Get ready to work in non AC branches with no supply of water in washrooms. It's scorching hot in summers and make your task very difficult.All these reasons make it virtually impossible if you think about clearing some other exam in near future. It will take time and absolute determined effort.Note: Experiences are not always that bad and sometimes you do get branches which give you balanced life but such odds are less nowadays.

You do have expectations. Be a less available and help only when they ask. Don't take it all by yourself for someone else's good at the cost of you.Eat healthy - Lol I'll tell you I got admitted to college just last year and I've been into junk every freaking day. It ranges from tastiest samosa to mouthwatering roll to momo my favourite. I'll look up into thisInvest and save boy_- In continuation to the last point, when things are not bought frequently, the cash in the wallet or the money in the bank stays intact. I hanged out a lot with friends the previous year, I regret a little now.Vibe together- Build a network of people that I vibe with. I've been connecting to lot of people lately and I've made sure they get my considerable amount of time and care. Count on people that counts on you. Don't keep irrelevant expectations.Outfit check- To dress properly wherever I had to. I had this resolution in 2020s list, to build a wardrobe that looks damn good and I'm happy I did make it happen.Reading newspaper regularlyGoing for cycling regularly.Bringing positivity in the groups that I’m into, everytime I show upBeing nice, polite and helpful to my juniors that'll be in campus from this year. Invest in Self Improvement - This is the key to all, the level of seriousness you place upon this, it the level of seriousness that life will throw back at you. Make sure you read constantly, at least 1 book a month, and at least 2 major self-improvement events a year. Use everything in your arsenal to develop yourself! Whether it’s books, audible, YouTube, Podcasts, Events, you name it, focus on self-improvement because it prevents the negative aspects of your mind from influencing your decision-making process9. Build your Networks - Develop your emotional intelligence and social intelligence in order allow people to know, like and trust you. The best way to do this is to see everyone as a friend, and genuinely a positive soul. See networking as a conversation, rather than the pressure to sell something. Develop your NLP (neuro-linguisitic programming) techniques to better understand people. Attend multiple events, and get yourself out there to enhance your circle. The aim to develop relationships that are strong, and provided there is an opportunity, market yourself to them if need be. Setup an environment where people eventually come to you, that’s how you create value10. F.O.C.U.S - Follow one course until successful. Master the art of not getting distracted by many things, and have super focus on the prioritised aim you want to achieve in life.
