Given that you are in NYC, transportability will count for a lot. Larger aperture is always good, and a LPR (light pollution reduction) filter will help cut out some of the sky glow. But it depends on what you want to do with the telescope.I live in NH and AZ so I only bring a telescope to NYC for one reason, to share the views of bright objects with people passing by. Bryant Park, on street corners, on the High Line, etc. Jupiter, Saturn and the Moon are about the only thing worth showing from the city, but people love it. Join AAA (Amateur Astronomers Association of NY, Amateur Astronomers Association of New York ) to hook up with all the locals. They sponsor public events all over the city, solar observing in Central Park, evenings in Carl Shurtz Park, Staten Island, and lots of other places.If you just want to learn the sky, the constellations etc. you really need to leave the city to do so, there just aren’t enough stars visible to get your bearings when you are just getting started.Are you going to be bringing your scope down an elevator in an apartment building? Make sure you can get everything in one trip (not easy). An 80mm refractor on a manual mount with slow motion controls( like the Vixen Porta II or the Explore Scientific Twilight) will make a nice compact setup you can carry on your shoulder, with your eyepieces in a case in your other hand. If you have a friend who will be helping you, then a dobsonian reflector like the XT6 can be carried by 2 people and will give good views.Good luck observing!

COA refers to your status at the time you filed the I-131. Keep in mind that form I-131 is used for 3 totally different travel purposes (advance parole, re-entry permit, refugee travel document) so there are different ways to answer this field.For example, if you came in on an F-1 status (student visa), and then received an H-1B status (specialty occupation work visa), then you would indicate "H-1B" in the COA field.If applying for re-entry permit, "LPR" is probably acceptable (stands for Legal Permanent Resident).If you don't know, rule of thumb is to put "Not sure" rather than leaving it blank - so that they know you didn't just skip over this question. If you include copies of all of your immigration documents, the officer reviewing your form will likely figure it out.
