How is Stevens Institute of Technology for MS in Information systems? Is it worth spending so much?

Stevens Institute of Technology is really a good university. It is situated near the Hudson River front and you can see the Manhattan skyline. This location is also very strategic as a lot of finance companies visit campus for recruiting.Stevens courses are good, but only if you give your best. Management Information System is a thirty six credit program with nine core courses and three electives. The core courses focus on the tech management and streamline certain business processes. The most important thing of this course is its flexibility. With those given three electives one could make a study plan of his/her own interest. One can take any course from any department. Also, if you come from computer or IT background you could waive two courses and get five electives. This is something which helps you to choose your own career path.Stevens has a lot of other good courses which you can take advantage off. For example, data analytics being the hottest job of the 21st century Stevens has some amazing courses in Analytics under the BI&A program. It is also known for financial engineering program. Stevens has some really good labs with the latest softwares used in the industry. In all, MIS at Stevens is good provided you know what you are getting into and where you want to go.Hope this helps

Should I get an MS in Management Information Systems or Business Analytics? I am currently a final year computer science student and planning to do my MS in USA.

Thanks for A2A!As a final year student, I believe you have a lot of chances to explore your career options. You have specified that you are interested in analytics and so you wish to do your Masters in MIS/BA.I'd say MIS is a better option because you can specialize in analytics as well as other concentrations like project management, consulting etc, which might open up new career choices to you. Since you are a student, I presume that you haven't explored much career choices and for now analytics may seem interesting. Over time when you actually start studying, your interests can change and hence, I think MIS would be a better fit for you. BA would be narrowing down too much especially for someone like you without any experience at all.Hope this helps! All the very best!
