I can't believe no one has said this one! Then again, I always get called an old man for choosing it and for my choice of drink which is rye and ginger. Apparently only old men enjoy rye and gingers…. And I. I enjoy them as well.Anyway, we're not here to talk about drinks, we're talking about ice cream.My favourite kind is from Shaw's Ice cream in St Thomas Ontario, Canada and it's called pralines and cream ice cream:The pecans have been pralined to a point where they simply melt in your mouth like a sugar cube but even more sultry. The caramel ribbon dances on your tongue like music and the creamy ice cream cools your taste buds down into a relaxing pool of milky calm.What could be better?!

As others have mentioned, there is a strong mandate to "buy American" with government purchases. With regard to police vehicles, this was ironic, as the all-time most popular police vehicle was the Ford Crown Victoria. It stayed in production for 30 years and was the effective standard for police vehicles (and taxi cabs) in the United States. It was produced at the Ford plant in St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada. The last "Crown Vic" rolled off of the Ford assembly line in September 2011.The car itself is only one component of the total patrol vehicle, albeit the largest and most expensive one. Before the car is ready to go into service, it has to be outfitted with radios, emergency lights and siren, gun racks, prisoner cages, video systems, etc. These accessories are typically designed for one make of vehicle or another, and it would be prohibitively expensive to have to tool for many different makes and models. The fewer the number of "police package" vehicles, the fewer variations in the add-on components.For the 2012 model year, each of the "Big Three" U.S. vehicle manufacturers have a police package sedan. Ford has the Interceptor (which is a re-badged Taurus with heavy-duty engine, brakes, cooling, electrical system, etc.), GM has the Chevrolet Caprice, and Chrysler has the Dodge Charger. There are also a number of sport utility vehicles that have police packages.There is a company called Carbon Motors which plans to start manufacturing a sedan designed especially for police use in 2014. This is a bold experiment, as Carbon will have to capture a significant share of the police vehicle market to be economically viable. They will also have the not trivial job of producing a vehicle that is free of manufacturing defects with no previous design experience to rely on. Many people in the police vehicle market believe Carbon Motors will never ship a car, but if they do, it will be something to see. Carbon's designs work most of the standard police equipment into the car's structure, rather than add it on as an afterthought.

Well, it’s no longer produced, so the popularity is probably not so great today.The reason it was to popular is because, after GM stopped producing the Caprice, it was the only rear-wheel drive sedan available of sufficient size and power to work for police use. The version made for police was specifically engineered and produced for that purpose in the Ford plant at St. Thomas, Ontario.The model was also in production for over a decade, and had most of the “bugs” worked out of it. The car is part of the everyday “tools” of the police, people that use tools like ones they know they can depend upon. Most law enforcement officers are dedicated professionals that spend countless time training - they want to use those tools they trained with, especially when they work.I guess the car was just an extension of that very valid point of view.
