PDF Editor FAQ
If a freshman in high school breaks their thumb during football season and won't get the cast removed until the day before basketball tryouts, is he able to request a later evaluation?
Each coach sets his own tryout and/or evaluation dates. As long as a student is academically eligible, he/she can be evaluated and added to the team whenever the coach chooses. If a coach wants to give a student a later evaluation, he or she is certainly free to do so.
Is it too late to start playing basketball in university?
No. As long your able to get through the tryouts because they are for sure going to be tough. And as long as your academics are good then no.But then again you gotta be good. Like to standout because the coaches do want the best on their team so they are evaluating everything you do. Listening, body language, etc.So Good Luck
Is it possible to get in a college basketball team (specifically Penn State) if I’m not on a high school basketball team? I do play a lot of basketball outside of school and I will tryout in my senior year if I could get in, if that’s possible.
While it may not be totally impossible, I cannot imagine how Penn State or any college basketball program at that level would be able to evaluate and seriously consider a player who didn’t play at least two years of high school varsity basketball AND ALSO several years of AAU or other high-level club basketball. There are just too many good players with a recognizable body of work out there. No serious college program is going to have time to evaluate players outside the sphere of acceptable competition.
