About 10:00 one morning I arrived at work only to hear that I had been laid off as of 9:00, then re-hired by 9:30. I was totally sucker punched by the layoffs, that included friends with spouses and children. My job was saved because the VP of sales liked having the little "cartoons" for his sales force, and Ralph Guggenheim said he needed this core group of people to make them.Then Steve Jobs swung by and started chatting with some of us survivors as if nothing had happened. That would make the day pretty weird, but —About 7:00 that evening he then casually invited a few of us out to dinner. I ended up getting a ride with Steve in his Porsche 911. We chatted about cars like just a couple of guys. We went to a vegetarian restaurant, of course.Oddly, I remember the ride in the car, but nothing about the dinner. I think the emotional roller coaster erased it. That was definitely the weirdest day of my life.

I got together with my ex when I was 22. I had before that been in love with her since I was 16.She had been in love with me for as long but we had a pretty fucked up teenage life so none of us dared to admit it.We both had some relationships before we got together. It worked because we never really hang out that much and I didn't even see he during a year before I ran into her when I was 22.At that moment I just told her I loved her, she told me she loved me to. She had a boyfriend at the time (I didn't know) which she broke up with the same week.We lived happily together for almost 8 years before she got tired (I think) and found someone else (we have a daughter that was one and a half years old at the time). Obviously she needed to find a new one before she broke with the old one to feel secure.I've had some short relationships after that, I'm frekkin 40 now, but they never lasted long.I finally met a woman, much younger than me, that was amazing. Her view on life, her view on me. So full of life, and not because she was younger, because who she was. I was 35 atm and she was 23 so the “much younger” is how I see it.She died a year after from breast cancer. Broke my world in pieces. Never dated after that until I ran into an old ex from when I was 20. She's awesome and we fell in love so strongly I thought I was a teenager again.That was 3 month ago. So if I can find love at the age of forty even after my mind told me there was no use (I felt like they either leave me or die), then I'd say 27 is not to old.Love will always find you, no matter if you're 20 or 87. The difference is that you're not as emotional unstable now as when you're a teenager so you don't fall in love each week ready to die for the girl you hardly know.Love sneaks up on you when you're older and it can take years to find it. But it's worth the wait. Every single time.UPPDATE:I proposed and she said yes. 30th May 2020 I'm getting married.
