When we asked for permission to cheat...It was the Pharmacology exam (MBBS 2nd year) .My friend (Referred here as D) was sitting in the next row ,exactly parallel to me, about 4 feet away. It was an exceptionally difficult exam and we were all having a hard time.An hour into the exam,D whispers to me - Oye!Me - What?D - Do you know the answer to question 2?Me- YupsD - Tell me then.I looked at him . Within a few seconds, the examiner is staring back at him. (I am really scared by this time).The examiner gets up from his chair and walks directly upto his desk.Examiner - Do you have a problem?D - Sir, actually there is a little problem. (With a very serious face)Examiner - Am listening.D- Sir, I have attempted this exam to the best of my knowledge. But there is no way I am going to pass because I dont know the answer to the question carrying the maximum marks. So, as a humble request, either take my answer sheet and let me leave or please allow him (pointing at me) to help me out .The examiner glares at me. I hurriedly look towards my answer sheet. Expecting the worst ,I prepare for him to snatch the sheet away from both of us.He looks back at D who is still sitting calmly.After a few tense moments ,I hear the examiner's voice -"You have 10 minutes."

12th Board exams.Computer practicalsMy seating Position- last bench.Lab Assistant- “Ye kiski sheet hai? Shruti Tripathi kaun hai”*whose sheet is this.? Who is Shruti Tripathi.?*everyone murmurs**murmur reaches the last row. I see everyone staring at me. Few standing. Few rushing from the other rows to see the drama unfold, totally giving no damn what-so-ever about their own papers.My bench partner: “Tumahri Copy sir pakad liye”*Sir has your answer sheet*It then dawned on me that my answer sheet, which I gave to my partner had jumped several rows, and was now lying on the supervisor’s lap. Irony was that he was sitting at a system to fix the bugs on that computer but my batchmates,mistaking him to be some helpless student in need of my holy grail, had heedlessly passed him my copy .*Urghh! Old habits of soliciting help without being asked. INDIANS*.DRAMA HAD JUST YET STARTEDQuestion was to write a program to have your name appear at the end of every page’s end line. He was dumb enough to copy the name “shruti tripathi” as his end line variable.It was now the time for the reputed ‘Who cheated Whom,’ game. I had nothing to fear, Right ? WRONG. After analysing both of our copies for more than a minute, he reached an ultimate conclusion:-“Shruti, please report to office. Your copy is withheld for cheating.”Like. Proctor: “Time’s up! Please place your pencils on your desk and wait for the test to be collected. If there are any questions regarding the test, please ask now or call the College Board at xxx-xxx-xxxx.”Other Student: “Yeah, what’s this sheet covered in bubbles for? I didn’t know if we would be using it later, so I left it blank.”Proctor: “Well, that’s unfortunate … did you perhaps record your answers anywhere else? Such as in the test book?”Other Student: “Umm … nope. I kinda thought we were being tested on our understanding, so I just thought about each problem for a bit and then moved on.”Proctor: *sigh*
