Why are federal taxes not taken out?

-You do not provide enough information to give a specific answer. If you are an employee receiving wages through a Form W-2, then Social Security (6.2% and Medicare (1.45%) will be withheld from pay. Federal income tax withholding is based upon the wages in the time frame of the work, and the exemptions claimed on the Form W-4 provided to the company at the time of hire. If the tax tables in Publication 15 (Circular E) indicate wages are low enough no tax is due, tax would not be withheld. Many students with summer jobs will claim exempt on the Form W-4, if they know they will not make enough to have an income tax liability.Independent Contractors are to provide the company with a Form W-9. An independent contractor is typically a specialist of a skill used on a part time or temporary basis. As independent contractors, Companies do not withhold social security, medicare or federal income taxes from compensation. At the end of the year, the Company provides a Form 1099-MISC for “non employee compensation” in Box 7.Independent contractors are allowed to deduct business expenses (including mileage) from their non-employee compensation. They are required to pay self-employment taxes (both employee and employer social security and medicare) and income taxes on the net self-employment income.Long story short (too late?) if you receive a W-2 with no Income Tax withholding, wages are deemed too low for withholding based upon the Form W-4 provided. If you have nothing withheld (no social security, medicare, or income tax) then you are an independent contractor responsible for self-employment taxes and income taxes.

How will DMK abolish the NEET exam?

Let’s gets the words corrected. DMK can “get TN exempted” from NEET. This means TN students don’t have to attend NEET to join medical colleges within Tamilnadu. However, if someone wishes to join a medical college outside TN, they can attend NEET based on personal choice. Now, this raises a valid question - How can DMK succeed in getting TN exempted from NEET ??Two ways - Either DMK can lobby with the BJP govt in the union to get TN exempted from NEET. But this won’t work as BJP has already clarified that one state alone cannot be given exemption. This leaves with other option. - DMK has to sort it out legally through the Supreme court. What has been done so far by ADMK lead TN govt?ADMK has appealed thrice asking for exemption of TN students based on the argument “ Govt school students follow state board syllabus and they find it difficult to attend NEET exams which based on CBSE syllabus”. However, SC has rejected this plea saying “ This is not a valid argument and TN govt should take steps to coach govt school students for NEET exams”. With limited choice, the TN govt again appealed with a plea “ Please allow TN students to attend NEET exams in the Tamil language” - which got granted. What’s the situation now? - TN students can attend NEET exams in the Tamil language however they aren’t exempted from NEET. SC has also questioned about 69% reservation to TN students in medical seats which is debated.ADMK govt enacted legislation in TN assembly banning NEET in Tamilnadu and sent it for president approval. Only if the president approves, then TN can get an exemption. However, the President of India has refused to sign twice and turned down the request. What can DMK do now (or) how does DMK claim that they can get TN exempted from NEET exams? —- Is it legally possible? The concept of a nationwide entrance exam, NEET, was first proposed by the Congress govt during 2005–2006. DMK was in alliance with Congress govt. So considering the benefit of TN students - DMK lead TN govt, while Kalaignar was CM of TN, enacted legislation in TN assembly that “ qualifying criteria for MBBA and BDS in TN will be purely based on 12th std exam results conducted by TN govt.”. This legislation was passed to the President of India Dr APJ who has signed this legislation and approved it. Since APJ himself is a govt school student in TN, he understood the practical difficulties of govt school students attending NEET. Hence he approved TN govt legislation.NEET was made compulsory by 2016 in TN after BJP came to power in 2014.Parliament has not enacted any law-making NEET compulsory, only the MCI (Medical Council of India) has made NEET compulsory. In such a situation, only the State Law i.e. the Tamil Nadu Regulation of Admission in Professional Courses Act, 2006, will prevail, which abolishes any form of entrance test.Since TN govt under DMK rule got an exemption from NEET already back in 2007 even before NEET was introduced, DMK claims that we don’t need approval from the current president of India. DMK claims that we are legally strong and correctWhy didn’t the ADMK govt plea based on this argument? - DMK says the ADMK govt doesn’t want to give credit to DMK, as it will be seen as a victory of DMK. ADMK has not issued any official clarification on this issue so far.Why didn’t DMK appeal before and says will do it if we get elected? - DMK is not the ruling party of TN, hence they don’t have the authority to appeal on behalf of the TN govt. However, any individual, citizen of India has the rights to file a PIL regarding this issue. DMK lawyer Wilson (also DMK MP ) has already filed a PIL in SC reg this argument. The case is still pending. DMK now says once they become the ruling party, they will re-appeal as the TN govt based on this plea.DMK manifesto also speaks about bringing education back under state control list based on a provision in the Constitution of IndiaSo let’s get this clarifiedDMK says they will get TN exempted from NEET based on legislation enacted in TN assembly on 2007 reg medical college admission in TN for MBBS and BDS.Other state students can attend NEET and get a seat in TN medical collegesTN students can attend NEET based on personal choice and get a seat in medical colleges inside and outside TNTN govt school students and students who don’t want to attend NEET can get admission in TN based on their 12th marks.Original question: How will DMK abolish the NEET exam?Disclaimer: I’m not a lawyer by profession and is not entirely aware of legal possibilities. Please consult a professional lawyer for further clarification on this issue.
