Is it possible that in future, we will be able to transmit smells/odors over the internet by converting them into BITS and bytes just like what we do with text, pictures, audio, and video?

Yes , It is theoretically possible to transmit odours over the Internet just like we do with pictures and videos . I can think of one of the ways in which we could do this . But before that let’s revisit organic chemistry 101 . Odours are caused by volatile compounds in a substance which bind with our nasal receptors which gives us the sense of smell .From the wonderful smell of coffee and your favourite fragrance to the putrid smell of rotting meat everything is a volatile organic compound .Vanillin , the compound that gives vanilla it’s flavour .Cadavarine , the compound that gives rotting meat it’s smell.Building such a device would be a monumental task in chemistry and biology. A possible way to create said device would be to engineer bacteria that would produce the molecule from some given precursors ( most VOC are made up of oxygen , carbon , nitrogen , sulphur , hydrogen and a few other other elements ) . Just like how printers today are given instructions as to where to deoposit ink on a sheet of paper our bacteria would be programmed to assemble a molecule based on instructions that could be written into its DNA. In essence these bacteria would function as molecular assemblers .If a device like this were to exist all I’d need to do try out my favourite fragrances would be to just download a file that would contain the instructions. And in a span of a few minutes the smell that I wanted would have been synthesised by billions and billions of bacteria . Just like how printers today run out of ink , these smell machines too would run out of precursors and all we’d have to do is pop in a new cartridge and we’d be back up and running .

What's the difference between chemistry in high school and in college?

Chemistry in high school is very basic.. chemistry 101 in college is basic and can be a review of all the chemistry you learned in high school.. then you progress to organic chemistry (lots and lots of memorization).. physical chemistry (lots of high level math) and it goes on..
