First things first, not a single Avenger knew of the existence of Captain Marvel as the events of Infinity War were transpiring. Yes, not even Dr. Strange, and this may hit most marvel fans as but an epiphany, also wouldn’t there be more chances of Tony Stark possessing that knowledge as opposed to the former? Anyway that’s besides the point.Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers was in space fighting off the multi-thousand year Kree-Skrull war. (This is the main reason why she’s away during Infinity War, but I’ll go ahead run something by you to avail a deeper insight on the Kree, Skrulls and Captain Marvel herself)For those that missed it, Captain Marvel is the one that Nick Fury calls for help when things get too rough even for him, and in the post-credits scene, we’re given a small tease for her solo film. After Thanos’ snap, When Maria Hill disappears alongside other civilians, Nick Fury quickly grabs a device that sends out a signal before he too disappears, a device which many might call a Go-Pro that displays the iconic star logo for Carol Danvers’ costumed persona. Nick Fury has called for help, and Captain Marvel is coming to save the Marvel Cinematic Universe.From a recent comic Captain Marvel #1, written by DeConnick and drawn by Dexter Soy, released in 2012 we learn that the origin of Carol Danvers‘ costumed persona is a Kree, the kree have produced quite some characters both Villain and Superheroes markedly original Captain Marvel, Supreme Intelligence, Ronan the Accuser, Hala the Accuser, Doctor Minevera, Korath the pursuer, Captain Atlas among others.Carol Danvers earned the rank of colonel in the United States Air Force, where she served as a pilot, an intelligence officer and a NASA security officer. During her career she had some adventures with Mar-Vell the original Captain Marvel, an alien who was also a Kree posing as a human scientist on earth called Dr Walter Lawson. Some of Captain Marvel's powers could be invaluable to the fate of the Avengers. One of these powers is her ability to enter a state called Binary. As Binary, she could tap the energy of a "white hole", allowing full control and manipulation of stellar energies, and therefore control over heat, the electromagnetic spectrum and gravity.Attaining light speed travel and the ability to survive in the vacuum of space were also possible for Captain Marvel in the Binary state.Reconstituting and regenerating herself, superhuman reflexes and agility,controlling gravity, teleportation, casting illusions, Resistant to poison and disease, superhuman strength and durability, survival in space, her flight is faster than the speed of sound, generating heat,light and radiations , precognition and cosmic awareness and energy absorption and manipulation.WeaknessAlcoholism, brainwash, memory loss, power depletion, magic and magical powers, possession.Like the Kree, the Xandarians and the Chitauri, Skrulls are extraterrestrials, and in Marvel Comics they have been battling the Kree for so long that both races’ cultures have been redefined by the multi-thousand year Kree-Skrull War. Skrulls might not have the best starships or the biggest military in the galaxy, but they have one huge advantage over their opponents. Every Skrull can shapeshift , perfectly mimicking both animate and inanimate objects, up to and including people.
