How to Use Daily Discomfort to Change Your LifeIf you want to increase your discipline, then you must increase your tolerance for discomfort.We’ve already talked about how lack of self discipline occurs when the action we need to take is more painful than the consequences for inaction.So one of the best solutions is to increase your threshold for pain.How do we do this?Through small daily discomforts.Take cold showers. Sit in the sauna for 20 minutes. Leave the AC off in the middle of the summer. Do 50 pushups before every meal.Do something small each and every day that makes you uncomfortable and helps you reset your tolerance for pain.I’ve been taking cold showers for almost 5 years and I can tell you beyond a shadow of a doubt that it made a huge impact on my levels of discipline.Step #6: Focus on Discipline “Levers” to Accelerate Success and Become UnstoppableDiscipline levers, also known as keystone habits, are activities that have far reaching positive impact on all areas of your life.For example, exercising will not only help you build a better body and have more energy, but it’s also been shown to increase productivity at work, reduce the amount of money you spend on credit, and improve your social skills.Writing down a daily gratitude journal will not only make you happier, but it will improve your relationships, boost your enthusiasm in your career, and stave off depression.In my experience, the 6 key discipline levers are:Daily exercise (preferably lifting or sprinting)Sleeping 8 hours a nightWriting daily gratitudesMeditatingWriting a daily to-do listWaking up 3 hours before you have to be at workIf you can do these 6 things, the net positive effect in your life will be tremendous.Try them out for yourself and let me know what you think.Step #7: Take it Easy on Yourself… But Not Too EasyYou’re going to mess up. You’re going to fail. They will give a drug which will be anti-depression tablets to maintain your dopamine level and then the other two sicknesses would develop in your body then the same doctor would give you another drug to handle those after-developed sicknesses.So do you think that it is cool?Now let me tell you another beautiful thing that you have gifted by God. It is your body and your soul.God has created us with a lot of body components that comprise millions of cells developed by the body itself and some developed by the external world.Note: Every component in our body works for some specific reason without making any noise and that’s the beauty of our body and soul. We are very silent from inside.
