PDF Editor FAQ

How do I print tab / sheet name in Excel cell?

I am working on a excel file which contains 30+ sheets. The workbook is used to crate and maintain sales order individually in each tab/sheet. Each tab is named after sales order number.I am using following formula to print/retrieve sales order number in particular cell from tab name.=MID(CELL("filename",A1),FIND("]",CELL("filename",A1))+1,255) another solution is=MID(CELL("filename",A1),SEARCH("[",CELL("filename",A1))+1,SEARCH(".",CELL("filename",A1))-1-SEARCH("[",CELL("filename",A1)))

Is it possible to share just a tab sheet within a master sheet in Google Sheets?

The answer below creates and links a tab in a workbook to another workbook that can then be shared. That works well and I use it a lot. The function used is importrange().Another option I use is to protect then hide the tabs I don’t want viewed. I use this primarily when I have backup sheets to pull in related data or do calculations that the end user doesn’t need to view. All you need to do is:Protect the tab you don’t want viewed (“Protect” is under the “Data” menu). Be sure to protect the entire tab (sheet) instead of a range on the tab.Hide the tab - right click on the tab name and select “Hide Sheet”.The only downside I’ve found to this is that when I need to view and edit those tabs myself, I need to unhide them. For that period of time, they will be visible to anyone who happens to be viewing the workbook.

Comments from Our Customers

Well, I tell you the truth. I am not an easier learning with software and subscriptions. I have a few such as fileinvite taxdome... but this CocoDoc with the customer service I have received from Dee just not, along with the two other I spoke with has been outstanding. Dee took the time I needed and is very well knowledgeable about how to navigate this system. I am super glad i was helped by Dee... Even though I am a slow learner, and I might need to chat in the future, I appreciate the time and walk through I was provided, I have not hard this customer service before.
