PDF Editor FAQ

Why does PragerU get made fun of so much when they cite reliable sources?

“When they site reliable sources”…I can’t read that line without laughing. They never do and here is why:PragerU “University” is a conservative think tank and astroturf fake university spreading paranoid fear mongering political propaganda and anti science nonsense on YouTube.PragerU is so EXTREME biased they crush the Bias - O -meters:“Overall, we rate PragerU Questionable based on extreme right wing bias, promotion of propaganda, the use of poor sources who have failed fact checks and the publication of misleading information regarding immigration and climate change.”PragerU - Media Bias/Fact CheckPragerU videos are thus so controversial YouTube wont have them;“A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit against Google filed by the conservative educational site PragerU that alleged the internet giant was censoring its YouTube videos.”Judge dismisses lawsuit alleging Google censorship of conservative YouTube videosOne can only wonder how batshit crazy it takes to be rejected by YouTube. I look at this as an important step on the road to “fight fake news and conspiracy theorists by linking to reputable articles”.YouTube will fight fake news and conspiracy theorists by linking to reputable articlesPeople with extreme views have it harder to find “news” which pleases their cognitive biases and justifies their believes. They want to avoid the most batshit crazy ones, thus if they find Alex Jones and his ilk of lunatics to wacky, PragerU might provide a better option because of their tone trolling. Because they dont shout at you like mad dogs.Because ultra conservative wingnuts too, are part of the tribe of sheeples the 1% rich and the polluters needs to keep uninformed to keep their support, PragerU tells these people what they want to hear; All liberals are communists, non christians are baby eating satanists, and if we stop using fossil fuels, the “green dragon” will collapse world economy (their pocket books). If you want to hear about how women should stay at home and be “food makers”, “washerwomen and “breeding machines” for their happy and masculine husbands?Tune in to PragerU.If you want to hear about how universities has become corrupt because they teach people to become free thinking individuals ?Tune in to PragerU.If you want to hear about why you should become a nationalist?Tune in to PragerU.Thus all propaganda PragerU spews out is “strangely” enough twisting facts about the world, social issues and politics, so that it ends up convenient for old conservative rich white men. To justify their oligarchy and to ensure it is not attacked by silly ideas such as having a more fair distribution of the worlds wealth or rising minimum wages. It’s a place where the lobbyists of the the 1% rich tells usour views on political and social issuesmust never come into conflict with the self interests and the money flow of the rich. You will soon find out every “expert” they use in their videos are fossil fuel lobbyists hired by Heartland Institute, thus PragerU is part of the Denial for profit movement. It’s yet another arena where the filthy 1% rich are spewing pandering propaganda aimed at their tribe of low educated wingnuts. Why?Because keeping your tribe, repressed, duped and blinded by fear and anxiety driven paranoid conservative politics and corporate polluters pandering socialist fear mongering propaganda,is how you keep your tribe happy.Uninformed and duped yes, but still happy because they dont realize theyre getting ####ed.The goal of the fossil fuel industry is to keep its profits rolling in without interference by government or by new, competing energy sources. To do this they need the public embroiled in doubt and suspicion; they need to degrade public confidence in science and scientists; they need to harm America’s future—and the world’s future—so that one of the wealthiest industries on Earth can indulge itself in even more wealth. We will look into how PragerU lies about science. But first,Promoting the policies that support an ideology is a right, but denying hard science in support of that ideology is a no-no. And that's what you'll find from PragerU, one of the web's best funded and most comprehensive attacks on climate science. Resources like this are a very real problem for science, because they have the expertise and the means to change people's minds, but lack the ethics to change those minds for the better.PragerU is also a channel where fossil fuel interests hide their self interests in conservative ideology to pander conservative christians and creationists.“It doesn’t take long to realize that this isn’t an academic institution as the ‘U’ in its name might suggest, but a right-wing organization with strong Judeo-Christian origins whose raison d’être is to rail against the American left. Its founder, Dennis Prager, is a conservative radio talk show host who denies climate change and sees environmentalism as a replacement for God. He has no educational background in STEM or any credentials related whatsoever to science. After watching a handful of their videos, it’s probably not too difficult for one to conclude that PragerU is invested in pushing a conservative ideological agenda and is not a reliable resource on information about climate change, or any other science for that matter.”Rebutting Climate Denial, One Source at a TimeLETS ALSO DO A BACKGROUND CHECK ON THE CREATIONIST BEHIND PRAGERU:“Dennis Prager is a neoconservative radio host, professional tone troll, and conspiracy theorist who believes that the United States is a Christian nation, and that it's under attack from "secular leftists" who control the media, universities, public education system, and other institutions. Despite being a fairly extreme conservative, to the point of being a weekly WND columnist, he does moderate on certain issues such as abortion and, to his credit, he does seem to know quite a bit about religion and aspects of United States history.”Dennis Prager - RationalWikiDennis Prager Thinks Gay Marriage Bigger Threat Than Bad Economy:Dennis Prager denying evolution:“Honest atheists – scientists and lay people – must now acknowledge that science itself argues overwhelmingly for a Designing Intelligence. […] To posit the existence of a Creator requires only reason. To posit the existence of a good God requires faith.”Why some scientists embrace the 'multiverse' - WNDPRAGERU FUNDING :“PragerU has been generously funded by two of the richest men in the United States, billionaire brothers Dan and Farris Wilks, who made their fortunes in fracking. Farris Wilks is also the pastor of the Assembly of Yahweh Seventh Day Church near Cisco, a conservative Messianic Israelite church that was founded by his parents in 1947. The church takes a literal approach to the Bible, considering it historically and scientifically accurate. So much so, that in fact, they think homosexuality and abortion (including in cases of rape and incest) should be convictable crimes.Farris Wilks has called homosexuality“a perversion tantamount to bestiality, pedophilia and incest.”The Wilks brothers also believe in a sinister “gay agenda” that is held up by evildoers in order to curse the younger generation.Yeah… no surprise that these are the folks funding PragerU.”Yusoof Monawvil's answer to Who funds PragerU?"The Wilks brothers manage Interstate Explorations, an oil and gas field services company based out of Texas, and recently sold shares in the fracking and oil services enterprise Frac Tech, making them worth $1.4 billion each. In total, the Wilks family has donated $6,550,000 to PragerU."The religious right seems to believe that the education system is the perfect battlefield to win this 'culture war' taking place in America," writes Shea. "While conservatives continue to push for privatization, efforts on public schools center on curriculum. Whether by pushing creationism, lowering comprehensive sexual education standards, or refusing Common Core, with resources like Prager University and financial supporters like the Wilks, their efforts have been enormously strengthened."Fracking Titans Spend Millions Proselytizing School Children - Rewire.NewsFracking Titans Bankrolling Right-Wing InLETS SEE HOW PRAGERU LIES ABOUT THE SCIENCE.Who is this man in the PragerU video below (and attached to the question) attacking climate models and accusing hard working professionals for fraud?Who is this William Happer dude so eager to portrait C02 as “good for us?”Is he funded by fossil fuels? No kiddin’!!“William Happer, born 1939 (age 78–79), is a climate change denier and Professor of Physics at Princeton University, specialising in MRI imaging. In what order should I watch the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movies?

After 20 films, 10+ seasons worth of shows, 5 short films and multiple comic book tie-ins, it’s understandable that the MCU timeline may have simply become too goddam difficult to keep up with, and that is totally reasonable. So much so, that Marvel Studios themselves have struggled to keep up with it! Marvel Studios, in their 10 year anniversary novel, Marvel Studios: The First Ten Years, included an official timeline of events. I have written an answer which explains this, and to be honest- their timeline is totally wrong for many reasons! View my thoughts on the matter here: Callum Drage's answer to How do you feel about Marvel Studios' release of an "official" timeline for their MCU? It’s just wrong. Not only is it wrong, but they excluded the MCU television timeline, which a lot of people are questioning. At this stage there is no way to fix this broken timeline, Marvel have screwed up worse than Fox did with its X-Men properties. We can however tweak certain things and just call out Marvel for their mistakes and course correct, and that is exactly what I’ll be doing. Although Marvel have released their official timeline- it is wrong! My answer is the only timeline worth following- because it is correct, based on what we know.I’ll be breaking my answer up into Phases. The Phase One Timeline is everything from Captain America: First Vengeance to Item 47. The Phase Two Timeline is everything from Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron Prelude- This Scepter’d Isle to Ant-Man. The Phase Three Timeline is everything from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 3, episode 1 to Avengers: Infinity War. This list will include the following: films, shows, shorts, comics, and all canon web-episodes. Enjoy my list of the OFFICIAL MCU TIMELINE:Please note: I will be doing this based on the main timeline of events. For example- the opening scene of Black Panther is one of the first events that took place in the MCU, taking place nearly 2.5 billion years ago. This does not mean I will be placing Black Panther as the first thing in the timeline, as the main story of Black Panther takes place later. I may include a list like this down the bottom, but for my comprehensive explanations, I’ll be sticking to film by film, mainline events.MCU: PHASE ONE TIMELINE- AVENGERS ASSEMBLE (1942–2012)The Phase One Timeline consists of everything from Captain America: First Vengeance (which is a comic), to Item 47 (which is a short film). The years these events range from is 1942 to 2012, although certain events take place earlier. This phase shows the rise of supers, and culminates in S.H.I.E.L.D. director, Nick Fury, assembling together the Avengers to stop an oncoming invasion. The MCU is largely the story of the Infinity Stones. In this phase we are introduced to the Tesseract (aka the Space Stone), and unknowingly the Scepter (which was later revealed to be the Mind Stone). This phase relatively is all earth centric, although a few events do take place off of earth.Captain America: First Vengeance (comic, takes place 1924–1944)The very first entry within the MCU is a comic tie-in, First Vengeance. Although the story picks up in 1944 during the events of The First Avenger (film), predominately this story takes place in a series of flashbacks to Steve Rogers’ past. The comic begins with Cap leading a mission against Hydra and Red Skull, however flashbacks showcase Steve Rogers relationship with his mother, how he met Bucky Barnes, his future best friend, and also how he grew and trained to enlist for the army. The story also shows Johann Schmidt’s, later known as the Red Skull, rise to power, done through flashbacks.Captain America: The First Avenger (film, takes place 1942–1945, 2011)We begin our main MCU journey with the Star Spangled Man With a Plan. The First Avenger spans World War II, from 1942 to 1945. The film initially picks up in 1942, where Red Skull steals the Tesseract from Norway. In the film we meet a young Steve Rogers, desperate to enlist for the army and serve is country. He is unable to do so however due to his small stature and health issues. He soon proves his worth to Doctor Abraham Erskine, the developer of super soldier serum and is injected with said substance and becomes Captain America. Through this film we meet important players in the MCU including Peggy Carter, Cap’s WWII girlfriend, Bucky Barnes, Cap’s best friend, who in this film is thought to have died after falling from a train, Red Skull, Cap’s archenemy, Arnim Zola, Skull’s sidekick, Howard Stark, Tony Stark’s father, and the Howling Commandos members, namely Timothy “Dum Dum” Dugan and Jim Morita. By films end, Cap is submerged in ice for 70+ years, where he reawakens in modern day New York City to be greeted by Nick Fury. In 1945, the war is won, but Peggy is left sad and in grief and Red Skull was blasted away into space thanks to the Tesseract. The Tesseract was found and stored by Howard Stark.Agent Carter season 1 (show, takes place 1946)This show takes place roughly one year following The First Avenger, and don’t be fooled, I say roughly for a reason. The war has been won by America, but for Peggy Carter, she is still in grief. Now that the war is over, society believes women should return to the kitchens, therefore Peggy, once the badass field agent, is now covering the phones at the organisation, the SSR. When Howard Stark is framed for a crime he did not commit, Peggy sees this as her opportunity to prove herself and leaps at the chance to help clear his name. Along the way we meet Edwin Jarvis, Howard’s assistant and butler, Daniel Sousa, with whom Peggy forms an attraction to, Jack Thompson, an agent at the SSR, and also two villains- Dottie Underwood, who was trained in the Black Widow program, the same one Natasha Romanoff entered. Arnim Zola also appears locked in jail, as does Anton Vanko, who becomes important later. At the end, Peggy officially moves on from Steve Rogers, throwing away his last remaining blood sample, Roger Dooley, the SSR chief, dies, and Peggy does not take the recognition for her work to free Stark and instead lets Thompson take the rewards, as she knows her value.Agent Carter (short, takes place 1946)Next push on to the short film, Agent Carter. Many initially felt this film was de-canonised after the release of the television show, Agent Carter, but I can confirm with a bit of tweaking, it can still fit in with the timeline. This film takes place exactly one year following Steve Rogers disappearance in the ice. This explains why Peggy is so sad about Rogers, despite having moved on from him in the shows first season. The reason why her office is so small compared to the one seen in Agent Carter season 1 is because, after Dooley’s death, Thompson is re-setting the place, causing Peggy to move down a few stairs for a while. Peggy is still treated like dirt from her new boss, John Flynn, because she didn’t take credit for her work in the show. At the films end, Howard Stark calls Peggy about beginning a new idea, S.H.I.E.L.D., causing Peggy to leave her small office. We are also introduced to the Zodiac substance, which would be seen later on.Agent Carter season 2 (show, takes place 1947)In 1947, Peggy Carter is back where she belongs- in a big office, in the field and kicking ass. Although the short film suggested Peggy would be starting S.H.I.E.L.D. with Stark, we know the organisation wasn’t properly formed until 1949, therefore Peggy saw Stark’s initial plans and told him she needed time to think it over. Peggy is allowed in the field showing that Thompson, as the new head of the SSR is giving her higher duties. In this season, Carter goes to Hollywood, where she meets Jason Wilkes, and develops a liking for him, and faces new threats such as Whitney Frost. Dark Matter appears in this season, a substance that would pop up again much later down the timeline. By the seasons end, Peggy ends up in a relationship with Sousa, and Thompson is shot by a mystery gunman. We do know that Peggy and Sousa do not end up together however, as Peggy later reveals that she married someone Cap saved in the war, Sousa does not share this storyline. Now leave the 40’s way behind us, and travel forward to the 80s.Marvel’s Ant-Man Prelude (comic, takes place 1980s)During the Cold War in the 1980s, Doctor Hank Pym has successfully created the Pym Particles, and is soon ordered by Howard Stark to go on a secret mission for S.H.I.E.L.D. using his new shrinking tech. Wishing to keep the particles from the wrong hands, Pym goes on the mission himself as Ant-Man, only to discover a new Hydra scheme in the rise. Ant-Man stops Hydra’s scheme and agrees to take on more missions for S.H.I.E.L.D. in the future.Captain Marvel (film, takes place 1990s)I know this film is a Phase Three film, but it takes place within the Phase One timeline. We do not know too much about this film, aside from that it will be set in the 1990s and will most likely show flashbacks to Carol Danvers’ time as a pilot, rather than showing her origin story in full. Nick Fury will be in this film, along with a younger version of S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, Phil Coulson. This film will show Nick as a simple desk agent, still unaware of super powered people, and will feature him with two eyes. The Kree and Skrulls will also appear, suggesting the film could adapt the Kree/Skrull War. Ronan the Accuser and Korath will appear in the film, who appear later in the timeline, thus setting their stories up. Mar-Vell will also appear in the film as Carol’s mentor.Marvel’s Black Panther Prelude (comic, takes place 2006)This comic, which takes place 10 years prior to Black Panther’s solo film, and shows that T’Challa has been active as Black Panther since 2006. It shows his origins and his early adventures in the role, and also introduces the fictional country Wakanda to the MCU. Although some may question why it takes place in 2006, after it being previously said it took place around the ending of Iron Man, this is not true, as will become clear in the Phase Three section of the timeline.Iron Man (film, takes place 2008–2010)I know a lot of people will be confused about this, but it is the best explanation. Tony Stark, is a self-absorbed billionaire, playboy, philanthropist owner of Stark Industries, which he inherited from his father, Howard Stark, who, after being captured by the mysterious Ten Rings Organisation in Afghanistan following a weapons display, becomes the superhero Iron Man, with the help of Yinsen. In the film, Tony vows to use his weapons for good. We meet characters such as Pepper Potts, Tony’s budding romance and assistant, James Rhodes, Stark’s best friend, Obadiah Stane, a former friend of the Stark’s turned enemy, Happy Hogan, Stark’s bodyguard, and we meet two recurring MCU characters- Phil Coulson, an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Christine Everhart, a news reporter. Tony’s helpful A.I. is also introduced, J.A.R.V.I.S., who was inspired by Tony’s childhood butler who passed away, Edwin Jarvis (yes the same one from Agent Carter). At the films end Tony publicly reveals himself as Iron Man to the world. The film spans three years, although it wouldn’t be known in the film, it is the best way to fix the MCU’s broken timeline. It begins in 2008, and spans across to late 2010. In the end credits, Stark meets Nick Fury, now director of S.H.I.E.L.D. who reveals to him that he isn’t the only superhero in the world, and that he plans to put together the Avengers Initiative.Iron Man 2: Public Identity (comic, takes place late-2010)The comic is set after Iron Man and before the events of both Iron Man 2 and The Incredible Hulk. Although certain aspects take place prior to the first Iron Man film, majority of the story takes place after the event. It gives context into what happened between Anton Vanko and Howard Stark, which helps set up Iron Man 2’s villains story. It also tells of the first meeting between Tony Stark and General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, and how the two became frenemies before Tony walked into the bar at the end of The Incredible Hulk. The next few films and comics take place all in the one week, but this is the best order to view them in.Iron Man 2: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (comic, takes place 2011)S.H.I.E.L.D.’s craziest week begins with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Taking place directly before and during the events of Iron Man 2, it shows Nick Fury keeping tabs on Iron Man’s movements and also showcases more of the Ten Rings’ crime spree. It also gives us more context into S.H.I.E.L.D., Agent Phil Coulson and Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow.Iron Man 2 (film, takes place 2011)Immediately following Stark’s announcement that he is Iron Man, Anton Vanko, Howard Stark’s former business partner is dying after living a life in shame and anger at the Stark’s, causing his son, Ivan Vanko, to swear revenge. 6-months following Stark’s announcement to the world that he is Iron Man, Tony is living large, even beginning the Stark Expo. Stark is secretly dying though from the arc-reactor keeping him alive, ironically enough, and has been given roughly 72 hours to live, making him go a little wild. Nick Fury assigns S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, to watch over Stark. In this film we discover more about S.H.I.E.L.D.’s beginning, Rhodey steals Iron Man armour and becomes War Machine, Justin Hammer is introduced and arrested, Senator Stern, who tried to take Iron Man suits, gives Tony a medal reluctantly, and Pepper Potts and Tony begin dating. Nick Fury determines that rather than using Stark as a member of the Avengers, he’d instead use him as a consultant.A few things to note: Firstly there is a kid at the end of the film wearing an Iron Man mask, which Iron Man saves from a Hammer drone. This kid is a 10-year-old Peter Parker, as has been confirmed by Marvel Studios. Mid-way through this film Agent Coulson tells Stark he has been reassigned from watching Stark to New Mexico. At the films end, in the S.H.I.E.L.D. base, we see a clipping from The Incredible Hulk featuring a news anchor following the Culver University fight sequence. At the end of Iron Man 2, The Incredible Hulk has just finished its Culver Uni fight scene. Thor showed us that scientists were aware of strange weather patterns in New Mexico after Thor crashed down, this explains why Coulson was reassigned before Thor even dropped to earth. By the time Hulk and Betty share the cave scene and rain comes out of nowhere, this is due to Thor breaking into the S.H.I.E.L.D. facility to try to take his hammer. Hope that made sense. On a world map in a S.H.I.E.L.D. base seen at the end of the film, locations such as Wakanda, the home of Black Panther, and Atlantis, the home of Namor the Sub-Mariner, can be seen, amongst others.A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor’s Hammer (short, takes place 2011)This short takes place a few days after Coulson leaves Malibu and Tony Stark in Iron Man 2, and shows his drive to New Mexico and Thor. He goes to a petrol station and stops two robbers in thrilling style and continues on his day. It bridges the gap between the middle of Iron Man 2 and the films end credits scene of Coulson getting out of the car in the desert looking at Thor’s hammer, Mjolnir.Marvel’s The Avengers Prelude: The Black Widow Strikes (comic, takes place 2011)Set between Iron Man 2 and The Avengers, Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, has to deal with Sofia, a new Black Widow operative who is causing chaos in certain parts of the globe. Widow goes on a solo mission to put an end to this rogue. You can read this comic anywhere in this section of the timeline, but this is the best placing I would recommend. The Incredible Hulk (film, takes place 2011)In 2006, scientist Bruce Banner is chosen to take part in a new super soldier program from WWII, previously used on Steve Rogers. The experiment fails, causing Banner to be infected by gamma radiation, and transform into a Giant Green Rage Monsters, the Hulk. He physically hurts his love interest, Betty Ross in the process, causing her father, General Thaddeus, to banish him from their lives. Five years later, 2011, Banner is in hiding from General Ross, who wishes to use Banner’s Hulk as a weapon for the U.S. Army, and the main events of the film take place. In the film we meet Betty Ross, Banner’s love interest, General Ross, Betty’s father who is intent on tracking down the Hulk. We also meet Emil Blonsky, who becomes the Abomination, and Hulk and he have a showdown in New York City’s Harlem at the films end and cause quite the chaos. Samuel Sterns is also introduced, and at the films end, a cut on his head infected by Banner’s blood, causes his head to begin to bubble, signifying he could have become the Leader, his comic book alter ego. At the films end, Tony Stark meets a disgraced General Ross in a bar.The Consultant (short, takes place 2011)In New Mexico, two S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, Phil Coulson and Jasper Sitwell, meet up to discuss the Harlem Terror, the battle between Hulk and Abomination. The World Security Council deems Hulk the enemy, and wishes to use Abomination as apart of the Avengers Initiative. Fury does not want this and tasks Coulson and Sitwell to make it not happen. They send in their consultant, Tony Stark, to piss of Ross so much, so he stops the Council from allowing Blonsky to become an Avenger. This short reveals Abomination is in S.H.I.E.L.D. custody.Thor (film, takes place 2011)Thor finishes S.H.I.E.L.D.’s biggest week. Although IM2, TIH and Thor all overlap, Thor is the last in the timeline. This film takes the MCU cosmic, revealing their is more in the universe than just humans. We are introduced to the Nine Realms in this film. The film features a scene in the year 965 AD, and shows a war between Asgard and Jotunheim, revealing this is where the King of Asgard, Odin, lost his eye. The main storyline picks up in 2011 however. Before I explain the timeline placing, I’ll rundown the important characters introduced. We meet Thor, the Prince of Asgard. He is arrogant and his father banishes him to earth after a foolish decision to learn of humility. We also meet Loki, the adopted brother of Thor, who begins his descent into villainy, after learning he was stolen from his home planet. He has a drive to become ruler of Asgard. We meet Thor’s best friends, the Warriors Three and Lady Sif, his mother, Frigga, and the Asgardian Gate Keeper- Heimdall. On earth we meet Jane Foster, Thor romantic interest, Darcy Lewis, an intern, Erik Selvig, a scientist and mentor to Foster, and Clint Barton, aka Hawkeye, who makes a brief appearance. At the end, Thor leaves earth to stop his brother, and destroys his transport to earth, the Bifrost, in the process, leaving Jane lost and without her love. Loki is believed dead, but winds up on earth where he comes into contact with the Tesseract. Another thing to note- in Odin’s treasure room, an Infinity Gauntlet complete with all six Infinity Stones is seen. Just remember this. Now for the explanation. When Thor is in Asgard at the films beginning, Iron Man 2 is beginning. Before the middle of Iron Man 2, Thor is cast down to earth, causing strange weather patterns, making Agent Coulson to travel to New Mexico to analyse the situation toward the middle of Iron Man 2. When Iron Man 2 is over, The Incredible Hulk has just ended its Culver Uni battle and Betty and Hulk are in a cave. The rain seen in that film is a result of Thor breaking into the S.H.I.E.L.D. facility in his film. Thor is just behind The Incredible Hulk.Marvel’s The Avengers Prelude: Fury’s Big Week (comic, takes place 2011)This comic was what confirmed that all the above took place within the same week of each other. This comic is a retelling of Iron Man 2, The Incredible Hulk, Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger, but from S.H.I.E.L.D.’s perspective. It showed how and when they found Steve Rogers in the ice, and also what happened to Samuel Sterns (aka the Leader) following the events of The Incredible Hulk. Apparently, Black Widow was sent out to deal with him, and he is locked away in S.H.I.E.L.D.’s prison along with Abomination. I place it here as it summed up S.H.I.E.L.D.’s roughest week.Marvel’s Iron Man 3 Prelude (comic, takes place 2011–2012)Set prior to The Avengers, Tony Stark becomes occupied with the construction of the first entirely clean energy building in New York City, Stark Tower, which is built on top of the Met-Life building. James Rhodey, as War Machine, helps fill the void left by Iron Man in this time. He deals with the Ten Rings Organisation, and reveals that yes- there is a real Mandarin (the head of the Ten Rings) around in the MCU. The comic also explains why War Machine did not help the Avengers during the Battle of New York, and the first plans for the Iron Legion.Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World Prelude (comic, takes place 2012)In the year following the destruction of the Bifrost, the Nine Realms have fallen into chaos, and Asgard struggles to maintain control without its primary source of transport between Realms. On earth, Jane Foster continues to try to find wormholes that could reunite her with Thor. When Loki travels to earth to steal the Tesseract, Odin uses Dark Energy to send Thor to earth. Following the Battle of New York, Thor returns to Asgard to rebuild the Rainbow Bridge and Bifrost and put an end to the chaos. Loki is imprisoned and Jane gives up her search for Thor. This comic takes place after Thor, during the Avengers, and prior to The Dark World, so I place it roughly in this spot.Marvel’s The Avengers (film, takes place 2012)The world’s of Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Thor and Captain America, the four main heroes of the universe, collide in order to stop a common threat. The film picks up a few months following Steve’s awakening from his 70 year coma. When Loki arrives on earth to steal the Tesseract, and takes control of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, Hawkeye and Erik Selvig, Nick Fury finally realises it is time to unite the Avengers. This film introduces earth to other worldly life forms, such as the Chitauri. The film also introduces us to Maria Hill, a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, magical items such as Loki’s Scepter, which has the power to control minds, and the vehicle the Hellicarrier. The Avengers are inspired to come together to save the day following the death of beloved S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, Phil Coulson. The Battle of New York, the big scale battle at the films end, changes everything moving forward, and by the films end the world knows they aren’t alone in the universe, Loki is captured, the Avengers go their seperate ways, Thor takes the Tesseract to Asgard, Tony begins remodelling Stark Tower, and a large, intimidating, mysterious purple alien smiles to the camera, promising to “court death.”Item 47 (short, takes place 2012)Picking up a mere three to five days following the Battle of New York, we follow a down on their luck couple, Bennie Pollack and Claire Wise. They find an operating Chitauri gun left over from the rubble of the battle and use it to rob banks. S.H.I.E.L.D. becomes intrigued with the couple as they were able to get the gun working and agent Jasper Sitwell goes out to capture them. He ends up recruiting them to S.H.I.E.L.D. however, much to the annoyance of Sitwell’s partner, Felix Blake. It is unknown following the twist presented in The Winter Soldier, whether or not Bennie and Claire were team S.H.I.E.L.D. or whether they followed Sitwell down a darker path. This brings us to an end of the Phase One Timeline of events. Phew. Hopefully the MCU makes a little more sense. Now onto Phase Two!MCU: PHASE TWO TIMELINE- AGE OF HEROES (2012–2015)The Phase Two Timeline consists of everything from Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron Prelude- This Scepter’d Isle to Ant-Man. The years these events range from is 2012 to 2015, although once again certain events take place earlier. This phase shows the emergence of more super powered people not only on earth but across the entire universe at large, hence the Age of Heroes subtitle, following the Battle of New York. The Infinity Stones introduced in this phase include the Aether (aka the Reality Stone), the Orb (aka the Power Stone) and the confirmation that the Scepter is the Mind Stone. This phase spans all corners of the MCU, and is not relative to just earth.Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron Prelude- This Scepter’d Isle (comic, takes place 2012)Following the Battle of New York, Loki’s Scepter is brought to Baron von Strucker, who is a secret Hydra agent working from within S.H.I.E.L.D., by a traitor S.H.I.E.L.D. agent. Strucker begins using the Scepter’s powers in experiment fashion on twin sibling volunteers, Pietro and Wanda Maximoff.Iron Man 3 (film, takes place 2012)The film begins at a New Year’s Eve party in 1999, where Tony Stark meets Yinsen, the man who helps him become Iron Man in the future. Stark does not remember Yinsen when they reunite years later. Maya Hansen shows Stark her extremis program, which has the ability to heal and regrow limbs. A young disabled Aldrich Killian offers the two a place in his company but is denied. Stark forgets about the whole event, before it comes back to bite him years later. Around Christmas in 2012, 6-months following the Battle of New York, Stark is suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). He spends his days building suits, which he dubs the Iron Legion. Although Pepper and he are still dating, a rift is formed as Pepper is sick of Tony spending time on his suits. When the Ten Rings veers its ugly head, glitching its way onto television screens, Stark challenges the leader, the Mandarin. In retaliation, the Mandarin blows up Stark’s Malibu home causing Stark to battle this threat without the suit. The extremis program is brought into play when Killian reappears into Tony’s life. Tony learns that he is more than the suit in this film, and puts an end to the destructive extremis program he helped create. The man who “was” the Mandarin, turns out to just be an actor, Trevor Slattory, and he is arrested by films end. In this film Tony has his arc reactor removed in favour of a proper heart, and blows up all his suits for Pepper and retires as Iron Man (for now), a new President is assigned in Matthew Ellis- more on this when we get to Luke Cage, and Rhodes was re-dubbed as the Iron Patriot. Bruce Banner appears in the post-credits scene as it is revealed the whole film was being narrated by Stark to Banner.Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episodes 1–7 (show, takes place 2013)In the wake of the Battle of New York the world has been forever changed. Super powered individuals are popping up across the globe, some good, some bad, but all in need of protecting. Many citizens of New York call the battle the end of the world, and that they now live in the new world. The show follows a ragtag group of S.H.I.EL.LD. agents; Melinda May, a pilot, Grant Ward, the muscle, Jemma Simmons, the scientist, and Leo Fitz, the tech geek. Along the way they uncover Skye, a computer hacker, who joins them in their adventures. The most intriguing aspect to the story is the mysteriously resurrected Agent Phil Coulson, a storyline that carries this season, just how did he survive the wounds inflicted upon him by Loki’s Scepter in The Avengers? Episodes 1 to 7 take place first. In episode 1, we see Stark Tower amongst the skyscrapers in New York City, showing that Stark has not completed transforming the tower into Avengers Tower. A little thematic tie-in to Iron Man 3 takes place, with extremis popping up, but on the whole these episodes stand alone.Thor: The Dark World (film, takes place 2013)A millennia ago, during the first convergence, where the Nine Realms align and portals between worlds open, Bor, Odin’s father, led a victorious battle against the Dark Elves of Svartalfheim. In that battle Bor stole the magical liquid, the Aether, from the Dark Elves leader, Malekith. Bor hides away the Aether and Malekith enters a long sleep. Following the events of the Battle of New York, Loki is sentenced by Odin to life in prison. 2 years following the destruction of the Bifrost, and one year following The Avengers, The Dark World takes place. For the past year Thor has spent putting back order to the Nine Realms. When Jane Foster comes into contact with the Aether, Malekith reawakens causing Thor to return to Jane and earth to put an end to Malekith’s schemes. Important takeaways for this film include Frigga’s death, the Battle of Asgard, Erik Selvig is crazy following Loki’s control over his mind, and the twist ending. After Thor has stopped Malekith, he asks for his father’s blessing to return to earth to live with Jane. His father agrees, but it turns out to really be Loki in disguise. At the films end, Thor reunites with Jane on earth, a Frost Giant monster roams earth, and the Aether is taken by Sif and Volstagg to the Collector on Knowhere. All Hail the King (short, takes place 2013)Following Trevor Slattory’s incarceration at the end of Iron Man 3, he is living large and has become quite the celebrity amongst the inmates at Seagate Prison. Many inmates love seeing his portrayal of the Mandarin to pass time, and Slattory appears to be enjoying the attention. To put together his documentary, Jackson Norriss, arrives to interview Slattory about his time as the Mandarin. At the films end, Norriss reveals himself to really be a member of the Ten Rings organisation, and is here to break Slattory out, and bring him to confrontation with the Mandarin himself. The film also revealed that following Iron Man 2, Justin Hammer was taken to Seagate Prison too, and that he may be bisexual, as he appeared to have formed an intimate relationship with a male inmate. This would make him the first LGBT character in the MCU.Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episodes 8–16 (show, takes place 2013–2014)Return to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Episode 8 deals directly with the fallout of The Dark World, and Thor’s battle in London against Malekith. Coulson and his team are picking up the rubble leftover by Thor, when they come into contact with an ancient Asgardian staff, which brings them into contact with an Asgardian who has been on earth for a few centuries. Continue watching the show up until episode 16. You’ll notice, like in episode 15 “Yes Men” that there are a few crossovers to other MCU mediums, as Lady Sif from the Thor films comes to the show to stop rogue Asgardian Lorelei after she escaped prison following the Battle of Asgard, so that’s exciting. I question why Loki, disguised as Odin, wanted Lorelei back alive though? They also mention that Abomination is still in S.H.I.E.L.D.’s custody in episode 13. Episode 16 crosses over a little bit with The Winter Soldier, however I would recommend watching episode 16 first then watching TWS, unless you really don’t like spoilers.Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier Infinite Comic (comic, takes place 2014)After the Battle of New York, Steve Rogers has joined S.H.I.E.L.D. and is running missions with them, in the meantime forming a closer friendship with fellow Avenger, Black Widow, and S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Brock Rumlow. Whilst Widow and Rumlow are adapt in following orders, Cap begins to question the organisation he has aligned himself with. The Zodiac from the Agent Carter short film makes a reappearance.Captain America: The Winter Soldier (film, takes place 2014)Two years following the Battle of New York, Steve Rogers has been working with S.H.I.E.L.D. on various missions, and has become closer to teammate, Black Widow. He is still struggling to adapt to modern technology and life, and also struggles to fit in with the new ways the government runs, placing him at odds with Nick Fury. S.H.I.E.L.D. is planning on creating a system that can detect crimes before they can even happen, not pleasing Cap. After Nick Fury is “killed” by a mysterious assassin, Cap is eventually recognised as a fugitive and goes on the run. S.H.I.E.L.D. is uncovered by Widow and Cap to have been infiltrated all along by Hydra, and the mysterious assassin, the Winter Soldier, was revealed to be Bucky Barnes, Cap’s former best friend, brainwashed into working for Hydra. Eventually Cap is able to stop Hydra’s plan and remind Bucky of who he is. In this film we meet Sam Wilson, aka Falcon, Cap’s new bestie, Alexander Pierce, the leader of Hydra, Brock Rumlow, a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, really a Hydra traitor, and Sharon, Cap’s neighbour with a secret agenda. At the films end S.H.I.E.L.D. is destroyed, Fury, who was revealed not to have died, goes into hiding, Maria Hill gets a job at Stark Industries, Rumlow is badly burnt, and Cap and Falcon go on a search for Bucky. In the end credits scene, Baron von Strucker is shown to have reached success, and declares an “Age of Miracles” is upon them, as the Maximoff Twins are now complete with powers.Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episodes 17–22 (show, takes place 2014)Return once again to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. for the home stretch of episodes. The events of The Winter Soldier have profound effect in this latter half of the season, and finally gives the show a sense of focus. These episodes delve even deeper into the S.H.I.E.L.D./Hydra war, which still reigns large within the organisation. Meanwhile Coulson needs to re-evaluate his place in the world, as trust is broken not only within his team, with two of Coulson’s closest being revealed as Hydra goons, but also within the industry he called home for years. The Darkforce, also known as Dark Matter energy from Agent Carter season 2, makes a reappearance in episodes 18 and 19, through the character Blackout, aka Marcus Daniels. At the end of the season, Nick Fury shows up and makes Coulson the new Director of S.H.I.E.L.D.Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Infinite Comic- Dangerous Prey (comic, takes place 2014)After the Aether comes into his possession, the Collector is still on the hunt for the other five Infinity Stones. He hires assassin, Gamora, who is also the adopted daughter of the Mad Titan Thanos, to retrieve the Orb, which he has discovered the location for.Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Prelude (comic, takes place 2014)Set just before the events of Guardians of the Galaxy, Nebula is searching for the Orb, and remembers growing up under the eye of Thanos, as his second, and least loved, daughter. In another story we follow Rocket and Groot as bounty hunters prior to the events of the film.Guardians of the Galaxy (film, takes place 2014)Travel through the stars to another galaxy, where we meet up with a band of ragtag misfits. The film begins on earth in 1988, where a young Peter Quill is abducted by space pirates, following his mothers death. 26 years later, Peter Quill, now known as Star-Lord, or at least he’d like to be, is searching for the Orb on a abandoned planet. The Orb turns out to be a hot property, as it holds the Power Stone, causing the attention of many powerful figures in the galaxy, including the universes most powerful being- Thanos, the smiling purple alien from The Avengers. His adventure to keep it from Ronan the Accuser, a rogue Kree, leads him into paths with Gamora, Thanos’ estranged adopted daughter, Drax the Destroyer, a being hellbent on revenge, and the duo, Rocket and Groot, a raccoon and a talking tree. Together they save the planet, Xandar, from Ronan and defeat him in the process, earning their freedom and their names to become widely recognised. Groot however was killed, and produced an offspring, Baby Groot. In the film we meet several of the Nova Corps members from Xandar, which may come in important later down the line should Marvel decide to incorporate Richard Ryder, aka Nova, in their universe in the future. In the film, the Collector reappears, Howard the Duck and Cosmo the Space-dog appear, as does Adam Warlock’s cocoon. Yondu Udonta, the alien who abducted Peter, also tells a member of his Ravagers crew that Peter’s father hired him to abduct Peter from earth.Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (film, takes place 2014)The beginning scenes take place during 1980, where Meredith Quill and Ego are on a date, and Ego plants one of his space seeds on earth- it sounds wrong, I know. This seed ends up terrorising a small town later on in the film, but the Guardians stop that event. 2–3 months following the first film, the Guardians are enjoying fame after their success of saving Xandar. After Rocket pisses off Ayesha, the Queen of the Sovereign race, they come hot on the Guardians tail, however the team is rescued by a mystery man, Ego, who later reveals himself to be Quill’s father. This film introduces us to Mantis, an alien who can manipulate emotions in others, and also gives more context into Nebula and Yondu’s characters. This film being set in 2014 also explains why Baby Groot still hasn’t aged. At the end of the film, Ayesha is swearing revenge upon the Guardians and has Adam Warlock’s cocoon in her possession, suggesting Warlock could appear in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3- should it ever happen that is.There is one scene in the post credits scene where Stan Lee appears. In it, he is wearing a space suit and is talking to the Watchers, a race of aliens charged with watching over the universe. In the scene he mentions that he has been an informant for the Watchers the entire MCU. Stan has appeared in every MCU medium in some way- he has appeared in all 20 movies, and has at least appeared in an episode of all the shows- whether physically or through poster form. In tis cameo he states that he has been it all, even a FedEx worker. In Captain America: Civil War, which takes place in 2016, Stan was a FedEx worker. That means in 2014, Stan’s cameo never would’ve happened yet. He was probably referring to another time he was a FedEx worker, and not the time in Civil War.Now we leave the light-hearted happy areas of the MCU, and travel down a few blocks to the Netflix corner of the MCU; the darker, gruesome and unpleasant place to be, ironically however the Netflix corner is one of the best in the whole universe. Something to remember; you can really watch any of the Netflix shows in any order, as long as you watch them after The Avengers, but this is the best order I’ve discovered to watch them in. Also, Stark Tower, in MCU canon, was built on top of the Met-Life building, however in the show the Tower does not appear. What you need to do is just imagine that the building is behind other buildings, and if you see the Met-Life building, just pretend that there are two in the MCU NYC map. If it really bothers you however, click here, it should please you for at least a little while: https://www.reddit.com/r/marvelstudios/comments/5tzn60/i_added_avengers_tower_into_the_netflix_shows/Marvel’s Daredevil season 1 (show, takes place 2015)Three years following the Battle of New York, referred by the citizens of New York as the Incident, the city is still recovering. Hell’s Kitchen is particularly struggling. Prior to the Incident, Hell’s Kitchen was quite a pleasant place to live, but after the aliens attacked the city, leaving it in ruins, crime lords and mobsters have taken advantage of the reconstruction of the city, and began running illegal organisations in that area. Aspiring lawyer, Matthew Murdock, takes matters into his own hands, and ends up using his past skills he learnt from his father, Jack Murdock, his mentor, Stick, and others, to become Daredevil, Hell’s Kitchen’s defender. He is opposed by rising criminal, Wilson Fisk, who wants to brings Hell’s Kitchen back to its glory days, but his methods of doing so prove questionable. At the seasons end Fisk is arrested. In the show we are introduced to Foggy Nelson, also an aspiring lawyer and Matt’s best friend, Karen Page, Claire Temple, James Wesley, Ben Urich, Turk Barrett, and Vanessa, Fisk’s love interest. On a poster where Murdock trains, the name Carl "Crusher" Creel appear, as promotion for his upcoming battle with Matt's father Battling Jack "The Devil" Murdock. Remember Carl Creel.Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 2, episodes 1–19 (show, takes place 2015)This season continues on from the events of the first season, and sees Phil Coulson as director of S.H.I.E.L.D., where he is directing his attention toward eliminating Hydra for good. S.H.I.E.L.D. however is now an underground organisation, illegally run, and must also deal with the fact that the organisation that used to represent hope and freedom, now represent fear. This season concludes the storyline of how Coulson was brought back to life, we discover more about Skye’s parentage, her real name being revealed as Daisy Johnson, and in the mid-season finale, Inhumans are introduced to the MCU- basically as their default X-Men. They are a group feared and hated by society, as they were born with their powers, unlike say, the Avengers who were given their powers. The show also introduces new characters, Bobbi Morse, aka Mockingbird, Lance Hunter and Alphonso MacKenzie, and through them gave us the whole two-devisions of S.H.I.E.L.D. subplot, that was interesting. Remember how I said to remember Carl Creel, well Creel appears in person in this season as his alter-ego, the Abosorbing Man. This is the same Creel referenced in Daredevil. The season creates connections to the Guardians of the Galaxy and Thor franchises. In episode 19, Coulson is chatting to Maria Hill, where he suggests that the Avengers may need to come together following a vision based on Raina, an Inhuman, leading us right into…Avengers: Age of Ultron (film, takes place 2015)The Avengers: Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye reunite and are taking out the “last” remnants of Hydra in Sokovia, where Strucker is. In the opening battle Baron von Strucker is captured, Loki’s Scepter is brought back into the possession of the Avengers, and Pietro and Wanda Maximoff escape into the world. Stark and Banner use the Scepter to create Ultron, a robot, capable of safeguarding humanity so that the next Chitauri level invasion cannot happen, in the newly fashioned Avengers Tower. Ultron goes rogue however and turns against his creator and plans to wipe out life on earth and start again. He recruits Pietro, now going by Quicksilver, and Wanda, now going by Scarlet Witch. The film reveals Hawkeye to have a secret family, and Hulk becomes wanted yet-again after being mind-controlled by Scarlet Witch to wreck havoc on a nearby city. At the films end, Witch and Quicksilver switch sides after getting a full detail on Ultron’s plan, and help stop the Battle of Sokovia, Nick Fury shows up with a Hellicarrier to save the day, we meet Ulysses Klaue, a villain of Black Panther, a new robot is born, dubbed Vision, who is powered by the Mind Stone, and Thor, after a vision of Ragnarok, the ending of all life on Asgard and the Infinity Stones, travels back to Asgard to explore more about said events. Tony leaves the Avengers in favour of building a farm with Pepper. Hulk disappears into thin air, and Hawkeye retires to be with his family. A new Avengers team is born with Captain America, Black Widow, War Machine, Falcon, Scarlet Witch and Vision. In the mid credits scene, Thanos steals an Infinity Gauntlet proclaiming that he will “do it himself.”Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 2, episodes 20–22 (show, takes place 2015)Immediately return to S.H.I.E.L.D. as episode 20 reveals just how Nick Fury was able to get his hands on a Hellicarrier in Age of Ultron. The show then ends with the climatic S.H.I.E.L.D. vs Inhuman war, which is trilling. It ends with Terrigen, a substance used to reveal Inhuman powers to those that are Inhuman, leaking in the ocean and being packaged into fish oil. At the end of the season Jemma Simmons is transported via a monolith that takes her into outta-space and to another planet.Marvel’s Ant-Man- Scott Lang: Small Time (comic, takes place 2015)Prior to Ant-Man, this comic shows one of many crimes Scott Lang committed to get himself locked up. In this comic he soon discovers his boss has been ripping his clients off and getting away with it, thanks to the boss paying off the media to stay out of his business. Scott planned to steal the money back and return it to its rightful owners. However Scott's mission fails after he crashes his car and is soon caught and arrested by police.WHiH Newsfront season 1 (web-show, takes place 2015)WHiH News reappears quite regularly in the MCU, and now it has its own web-series. For those unaware, these are a series of short, in-universe news headlines that bridge the gap between certain films, to get fans excited. Led by Christine Palmer, the news reporter from Iron Man 1 and 2, and featuring guests stars from the films, such as Scott Lang and Darren Cross from the Ant-Man film, this “first season” is dubbed the Ant-Man campaign. Each episode gave us set ups to Ant-Man; an interview with Scott Lang before he leaves prison, a seperate interview with Darren Cross, a video recording of Lang robbing VistaCorps, which got him arrested, etc. The show also set up the idea of the Sokovia Accords- which come into play later.Ant-Man (film, takes place 2015)The film has a scene set in 1989, which sees Peggy Carter, Howard Stark and Hank Pym arguing about the usage of Pym Particles, causing Hank to quit working with S.H.I.E.L.D. In present day, a few months after Age of Ultron and the Battle of Sokovia, Scott Lang is released from prison, and soon gets wound up in an adventure with Hank Pym and his daughter, Hope van Dyne where Lang suits up as the new Ant-Man in order to stop Darren Cross, aka Yellowjacket, from enacting his plan that could take over the world. The film features a cameo from Avenger, Falcon, and he mentions that Spider-Man already exists in the MCU world. We also meet, through a flashback, the original Wasp, Janet van Dyne, who was sucked into the Quantum Realm, following her defusing of a bomb. When Lang makes it out of the Quantum Realm, Hank begins to wonder whether he could somehow rescue Janet. This prompts him to finally allow Hope a Wasp suit of her own. We also meet Luis, Scott’s friend and Cassie, Scott’s daughter, who may become important later. This brings us to an end of the Phase Two Timeline of events. Hopefully things are looking clearer. Onto Phase Three, the current and potentially final phase.MCU: PHASE THREE TIMELINE- THE ACCORDS (2015–PRESENT)The Phase Three Timeline consists of everything from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 3, episode 1 to Avengers: Infinity War. The years these events range from is 2015 to 2018, and potentially beyond, although once again certain scenes take place prior to these timeline restrictions. This phase focuses on heroes divided, particularly following the Sokovia Accords which forces the Avengers, and any powered individual, to register with the government. The Infinity Stones introduced in this phase include the Eye of Agamotto (aka the Time Stone), and the Soul Stone. This phase is not relative to just earth, although much of it does take place on earth. This phase also takes the most liberties in altering times and dates, as you really need to do this for this phase, or else there is no way it flows. There’s your warning.Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 3, episodes 1–10 (show, takes place 2015)This season picks up following season 2 of the show, and the agents are trying to find Inhumans across the world, revealed by Terrigen in fish oil, and protect them from those that hate and fear them. Fitz is still actively trying to search for Jemma, who disappeared at the end of the second season. The first episode makes a reference to the events of Ant-Man, thus confirming this show takes place after the film. After episode 10 of the show, stop and return to the Netflix corner of the MCU.Marvel’s Jessica Jones season 1 (show, takes place 2015)Jessica Jones is a P.I. who spends her days drinking way her sorrows and lurking in dark alleyways waiting for people to cheat so she can take pictures to earn a living. Jessica also suffers from PTSD, following a brutal control over her mind from Kilgrave. The show takes place in Hell’s Kitchen a few months following the first season of Daredevil, and shows Jessica confront her past. The show introduces us to Luke Cage, a man with indestructible skin, Trish Walker, Jessica’s adopted sister and best friend, Jeri Hogarth, a lawyer, and reluctant ally Malcom. Through the show, we uncover bits of Jessica’s past, in how she received her powers, and the many crimes Kilgrave made Jess commit under his influence, including the killing of Reeva Conners, who had a connection to Luke Cage. At the end of the season, Jess kills Kilgrave, Luke finds out that Jess kills Reeva and leaves Hell’s Kitchen, and Malcolm begins working for Alias Investigations with Jess. The show makes references to the larger MCU, by mentions of the Incident and the effects it had on the citizens of New York, and also the nicknames referring to Captain America and Hulk- “go talk to the big green guy or the flag waver.”Marvel’s Jessica Jones (comic, takes place 2015)Somewhere during and in between Jessica Jones season 1 and Daredevil season 2, comes this short comic, where Jessica goes and visits Turk Barrett in hospital. This comic gives the first little clue that the Netflix universe will tie in together, as Daredevil makes an appearance via a flashback scene. Nurse Claire Temple also makes an appearance, who at this point had appeared in both Daredevil and Jessica Jones series.Marvel’s Daredevil season 2 (show, takes place 2016)Continue on the Netflix path and watch Daredevil season 2. Picking up 6–10 months following the first season, the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen is a controversial figure in Hell’s Kitchen, feared by criminals, but mostly liked by the public. The first half of the season showcases a new vigilante’s reign of terror over Hell’s Kitchen, the Punisher, whilst the second half focuses on Elektra Natchios returning into Matt’s life, which brings the Hand, the ninja organisation, into Hell’s Kitchen. Matt has issues with Foggy and Karen this season, which causes a rift between the three. At the end of the season Foggy goes off to work for Jeri Hogarth, putting an end to Nelson & Murdock, Attorney’s At Law. Karen finds out Matt’s identity as Daredevil and Matt gives up his life as the Man Without Fear following the death of Elektra. A news headline in the news office reading “Who is to blame for Sokovia?” confirms this season takes place after Age of Ultron.Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 3, episodes 11–19 (show, takes place 2016)Return to the more mainstream Marvel Universe, and watch episodes 11 to 19. In episode 14 “Watchdogs” a blink and you’ll miss headline appears mentioning the bikey gang war and the Punisher situation in Hell’s Kitchen. This suggests that the show takes place concurrently with Daredevil season 2. The show has scenes that rework the MCU’s history of Hydra and what it stands for, suggesting that Red Skull’s vision of Hydra was different to what it was originally set out to be. After episode 19, stop.WHiH Newsfront season 2 (web-show, takes place 2016)Whilst season 1 was campaigning for Ant-Man, this season campaigns and sets up Captain America: Civil War. This time Christine Everhart and her co-star, Will Adams, have intense debates over whether superheroes should be registered with the government, or whether they should operate freely. In the show, a new anchor Jackson Norris appears- but I should note he is not to be confused with the Ten Rings member Jackson Norriss from All Hail the King. He is a seperate character. Thaddeus Ross, from The Incredible Hulk, returns to the MCU and this reveals how he became Secretary of State. The final episode overlaps with Civil War’s opening scene, but little to no spoilers are given.Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War Prelude Infinite Comic (comic, takes place 2014-2016)This comic picks up a few months after The Winter Soldier, but ends directly leading into Civil War. Although majority of the story takes place after TWS, I am placing it here as it ends leading directly into Civil War. In this comic we follow Bucky Barnes after he is freed from HYDRA. He tracks down and kills his HYDRA superiors and then goes on a soul searching mission to find himself. Also, Brock Rumlow reawakens and is lost at his purpose after hearing that his leader, Alexander Pierce, is dead. A few years later, Steve Rogers is struggling to find time for his personal mission to find Bucky with Sam Wilson, aka Falcon, and also lead the new Avengers team. At the comics end, Cap and the Avengers are called off to Nigeria to stop a new enemy- Crossbones.Captain America: Civil War (film, takes place 2016)In 1991, the Winter Soldier kills Howard and Maria Stark, an event caught on a security camera. In present day, one year following Age of Ultron, Captain America and Black Widow lead the Avengers on a mission to stop Brock Rumlow, aka Crossbones, in Nigeria. An explosion occurs which Scarlet Witch tried to prevent, however it failed and killed a few people in a building. This was the governments last push. Secretary Ross arrives at the Avengers Facility and tells them that they can either sign the Accords or retire. Tony Stark, who feels responsible for the death of a young boy during the Battle of New York, opts to join, but Cap, who has worked with the government before and saw it flaws, refuses. The films villain, Helmut Zemo, also works to tear apart the Avengers. After King of Wakanda, T’Chaka, is killed by whom the government believes to be Winter Soldier, Black Panther swears revenge on the Winter Soldier. He joins team Iron Man. Also joining Stark are Black Widow, War Machine, Vision, and Spider-Man. Joining Cap is Winter Soldier, Falcon, Ant-Man, Scarlet Witch and Hawkeye. At the films end, Cap gives up being Captain America, Stark and Rogers are at odds, Black Panther switches sides after realising Winter Soldier was framed and allows him to be frozen in ice in Wakanda. Peggy Carter also dies in this film, and Sharon from the second film, is revealed to be her niece. The Raft Prison, a place the government uses to hold super powered beings, also makes an appearance. In the film Vision mentions to the Avengers that in the “8 years since Mr Stark revealed himself as Iron Man, the rates of super powered individuals has grown increasingly.” This is a reference to not only the films emergence of supers, but also the Inhumans and the Netflix heroes. But it also causes a timeline mistake. If Civil War take place 8 years after Stark revealed he was Iron Man, and if Marvel “confirmed that Iron Man takes place in 2010” then that doesn’t add up. If that was the case then Civil War would take place in 2018. This is why I tweaked it. Vision, who was formally J.A.R.V.I.S., is reflecting on his time of knowing Stark as Iron Man. Therefore by placing Iron Man from 2008–2010, it means this saying adds up. Vision is remembering the first time he new Stark as Iron Man, which was in 2008, 8 years before Civil War. Done, so that problem is solved.Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War Prelude (comic, takes place 2016–2017)This comic shows the story behind Black Panther allowing Winter Soldier to enter Wakanda and his offer to wipe his mind clean of his past. It also details how Cap freed his Avengers teammates from the Raft Prison- as Hawkeye, Ant-Man, Scarlet Witch and Falcon were all taken there following the airport battle. It also shows a mission in New York of terrorists using Chitauri technology to cause chaos, making Steve Rogers, Black Widow and Falcon go after him. The comic shows the friction between Iron Man and Steve following Civil War. In the second half, Wong recounts to Doctor Strange the location of all the six known Infinity Stones, placing the ending of this comic after Doctor Strange.Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 3, episodes 20–22 (show, takes place 2016)Episode 20 picks up directly following the airport battle in Civil War, with the government debating whether S.H.I.E.L.D. and other super powered individuals, namely Inhumans, should have to follow the same procedures as the Avengers. This suggests that the Sokovia Accords is much more far reaching than just those involved in the Battle of Sokovia. Hydra is also effectively defeated with the end of Hive. Note; the final scene of season 3 takes place 6-months after the ending of the show, placing it around the beginning of season 4. At the end of this season Daisy Johnson is known as Quake, and has left S.H.I.E.L.D. following the death of her former boyfriend, Lincoln Campbell. Coulson has resigned as director of S.H.I.E.L.D. also.Black Panther (film, takes place 2016)2.5 billion years ago, an asteroid containing vibranium, the strongest metal in the MCU, crash landed in Wakanda. The people used the metal to create advanced structures and weapons. The metal would also later be used to create Captain America’s shield. To stop vibranium from getting to the wrong hands, Wakanda posed as a Third World country, thanks to a protective force field that shielded them from the outside world. In 1992 another scene shows T’Chaka as Black Panther dealing with some business that sets up the present day storyline. T’Challa returns home from the U.S. and is ready to take his fathers place as King of Wakanda. However Erik Killmonger arrives and takes total control over Wakanda, causing T’Challa to rise up and take back his throne. The film introduces us to Okoye, a royal guard apart of the all-female group Dora Milaje, we also meet Nakia, Black Panther’s love interest, and Shuri, T’Challa’s sister. Ulysses Klaue and Everett K. Ross reappear from previous films. The film ends with T’Challa promising to open the true nature of Wakanda to the world.According to Marvel’s official timeline, this film takes place in 2017, however I disagree as in this film they literally inform us thanks to a news reporter stating the film takes place one-week following King T’Chaka’s death in Civil War. Marvel placed it in 2017 to line it up with Bucky reawakening from the ice, and so it wouldn’t be so weird that he wakes up one-week after going in. But I have a plan. Just like with Stan Lees cameo in Guardians Vol. 2. It doesn’t have to be a timeline mistake. When Bucky wakes up and is re-named White Wolf- that takes place in 2018- yes, 2018, because Infinity War really happens in that year, not 2017. More on this later.Marvel’s Luke Cage season 1 (show, takes place 2016)Now return to New York City and watch the entire first season of Luke Cage. Although citizens are still complaining about the Incident, they’re New Yorkers, so they won’t forget. The show picks up months after Jessica Jones, and deals with Luke after finding out Jessica killed Reeva. Luke is back in Harlem, and works his way to becoming quite the hero of the town. This show features many connections to the wider MCU, and not just in its mentioning of the Incident. Seagate Prison, HAMMER Industries and Chitauri technology play huge parts in this season. It also ties into other Netflix shows by featuring Turk Barrett and Claire Temple. We also meet Misty Knight, who is quite important moving forward. The show ends with Luke returning to prison. When I spoke of Iron Man 3, I said I would circle back to the whole President issue in the MCU, and yes there is one. The President in the MCU is Matthew Ellis, he appeared in Iron Man 3 and was heard in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. He appeared in a handful of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. episodes as well. But in Luke Cage the characters reference Obama as if he was still President. They also mention of how Obama sung “Al Green” in 2012, which he so famously did in real life, however he sung that in response to him being re-elected. So lets explain. In Iron Man 2 a poster, similar to Obama’s Hope poster, appears, except it features Iron Man, not Obama. This confirms that yes, Obama does exist in the MCU. My theory is this, he was elected in 2008, like he was in our world. However following the Battle of New York, he did not manage to win the vote the second time, causing Matthew Ellis to earn the spot. Obama sung “Al Green” to say thank you for his time in the White House. That’s the only explanation.Marvel’s Doctor Strange Prelude (comic, takes place 2016)Prior to Doctor Strange, the Masters of the Mystic Arts Karcilius, Wong, Tina Minoru and Daniel Drumm are chasing down a woman in London who has stolen a powerful object, whilst Ancient One and Mordo are dealing with an enemy of their own.Spider-Man: Homecoming (film, takes place 2016)Four months following Civil War, Peter Parker has returned home to New York City following his brief stint with Team Stark and the Avengers, an event he is still riding high off of. Peter wants to earn a place on the Avengers team and spends the majority of the film attempting to accomplish. After getting his suit stripped away from him from Stark, he learns what it takes to become a true hero, and learns that there’s more to a hero than just a suit. In the film Aunt May, Peter’s guardian aunty, Adrian Toomes, aka Vulture, and Happy Hogan, Stark’s former bodyguard, play key roles. We also meet Ned, Peter’s high school best friend, Liz, Pete’s high school crush, Flash, Pete’s high school bully, and Michelle, the socially awkward potential future crush of Pete’s, who could become the MCU’s version of Mary Jane Watson. Peter’s high school principle’s last name is Morita, he is actually a descendent of Jim Morita, a Howling Commando. At the films end, Peter is offered a place amongst the Avengers, along with a new Iron-Spider suit, but choses to leave it, opting to remain as a Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man a little longer. Tony appears to have rekindled his relationship with Pepper and proposes to her, and Avengers Tower is officially moved out of, as four mystery figures bought it (could it be Fantastic Four? Could it become the MCU’s Baxter Building?)Although the opening of the film begins right after the Battle of New York in 2012, the main storyline picks up four months after Civil War. As for that now infamous “8 years later” title card mistake, lets explain. If Homecoming takes place 8 years after Avengers, as was suggested in the films opening, that would place the film in 2020. So for this timeline mistake- Marvel meant to say “4 years later,” instead of 8. Its as simple as that. As for Peter’s age, well it still adds up. In 2011 he was 10. In this film he is 15, the same age he was in Civil War.Marvel’s Doctor Strange Prelude Infinite Comic- The Zealot (comic, takes place 1996-2016)The story is set around Kaecilius and his early adventures and how he came to be a sorcerer. The comic ends just where the beginning of Doctor Strange starts- Kaecilius and his followers go an attack the Kamar-Taj librarian. Although the story takes place around 20 years prior to Doctor Strange, in 1996, it ends leading into the events of the film in 2016, so I place it here on the timeline.Doctor Strange (film, takes place 2016–2017)Beginning in 2016, we meet arrogant surgeon, Doctor Stephen Strange, where he is living the high life. After a car crash leaves his hands permanently damaged, Strange seeks out help and cures, and ends up arriving at Kamar-Taj, where he meets the Ancient One and Karl Mordo. Strange spends the next year practicing the arts of the mystic ways, and becomes a sorcerer. The second half of the film takes place in 2017, showing the battle between Doctor Strange and Kaecilius. The film introduces the MCU to magic, whilst also introducing us to the Eye of Agamotto, which in the MCU holds the Infinity Time Stone, and also discover the Sanctum Sanctorum, the home of Strange. Characters we meet include Dormammu, the films main threat, Mordo, who begins as Strange’s friend, however ends as his enemy, Wong, Strange’s friend, and also the Cloak of Levitation- which becomes a character in its own right, similar to Aladdin’s Magic Carpet.Agents of S.HI.E.L.D.: Slingshot season 1 (web-show, takes place 2016)Next watch the official spin-off to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Slingshot. This short 6-episode web-show follows the character of Inhuman YoYo, introduced in S.H.I.E.L.D., as she has the chance to take revenge on the man responsible for her cousins death. She runs into complications however as the Sokovia Accords force her to sign up with the government. Daisy Johnson, who is now a rogue going by Quake, also helps YoYo in her quest. This show gives us our official introduction to the new S.H.I.E.L.D. director, Jeffrey Mace, and gives more reasons as to why Coulson resigned following season 3.Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 4 (show, takes place 2016-2017)This is the first, and only season of S.H.I.E.L.D. you can view free from breaks. The show largely continues the events from Civil War, with the Sokovia Accords playing a huge role this season. S.H.I.E.L.D. is also back to being a legit agency again, with a new director, Jeffrey Mace being appointed. Thematic ties to both Age of Ultron and Doctor Strange are included during this season, and the season is separated into three “pods” of storylines; the Ghost Rider storyline, the L.M.D. storyline and the Agents of Hydra storyline. Each storyline is unique and makes for some of the best MCU stories ever. At the series end, the main characters are transported into space- 90 years into the future.Inhumans season 1 (show, takes place 2017)Although Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. never mentioned it, there actually exists a Royal Family of Inhumans which long since left earth in favour of earth’s moon. On the moon, the Royals, consisting of Black Bolt, Medusa, Crystal, Gorgon, Karnak, Lockjaw and Triton, created the city of Attilan, where they ruled in peace and harmony, that is if you responded well to Terrigen mist. In order for Inhumans to be well treated, Terrigen must have an Inhuman effect on oneself. Maximus, the King’s brother, had no powers after being exposed to Terrigen and, jealous, plotted to take revenge against Black Bolt for the terrible way of life. This leads the Inhumans to Hawaii, where the plan to stop Maximus, and start anew on earth.I seriously do not recommend watching this show, it is garbage, and you actually completely side with Maximus, not Black Bolt! The show has a mention of the Terrigen leak in fish oil from the events of S.H.I.E.L.D.’S second season, but you’d only know that if you watched both shows and were completely invested.Marvel’s Iron Fist season 1 (show, takes place 2017)After a terrible plane crash, which kills Danny Rand’s parents, and has Danny found by monks who train him in K’un Lun, to become a material artist and the new protector, Iron Fist. Rand returns from being believed deceased for 15 years, where he plans to take back over his fathers company, but he struggles to convince everyone he is who he says he is, and to also put an end to the Hand, a secret organisation, destined to one day wreck havoc on K’un Lun. We meet characters, Colleen Wing, Joy and Ward Meachum and reunite with Claire Temple. The shows ending leads directly into…Marvel’s The Defenders season 1 (show, takes place 2017)Taking place a few months following Daredevil season 2 and 1 month following Iron Fist, the four heroes of the Netflix universe; Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage (recently released from prison) and Iron Fist, join forces to stop the Hand, and their new weapon, the Black Sky, aka a reborn Elektra Natchios. Characters from previous Netflix shows reappear; Claire Temple, Foggy Nelson, Karen Page, Trish Walker, Jeri Hogarth, Misty Knight (who loses her arm) and Colleen Wing. Throughout the season Luke and Jessica reunite and befriend each other again, Luke and Danny form a bond, and the show ends with Matt, who re-donned the red horned costume is believed deceased after being crushed by a building at the shows ending. Elektra is crushed by the same building, her fate still ambiguous. Iron Fist takes over as Hell’s Kitchen’s new Defender.Thor: Ragnarok (film, takes place 2017)Taking place four years after The Dark World and two years following Age of Ultron, this film explains where Thor and Hulk were during Civil War. During the two years Thor and Jane have officially broke up, and Thor dedicates all his time to finding out more about the Infinity Stones. Through his travels he came into contact with Surtur the Fire Demon, where he believes by defeating him, he can put an end to Ragnarok, the destruction of the Asgardian people. This film adapts two stories; for Thor, Ragnarok, and for Hulk, Planet Hulk. Following the events of Sokovia, Hulk somehow wound up on the planet Sakaar where he became a gladiator champion. This film introduces us to a few new characters, Valkyrie, a warrior from Asgard, Korg, a comical alien made from rocks, Grandmaster, the brother of the Grandmaster, Hela, the Goddess of Death and the sister of Thor., and also features Doctor Strange in a small, but key role. Hela also confirms that the Infinity Gauntlet in Odin’s Treasure Vault was a fake. At the films end Thor realises Mjolnir wasn’t the true cause of his powers- it was actually he the whole time, Loki was revealed as Odin, and the real Odin has died, and Asgard is blown up. The last remaining Asgardians board a ship headed for earth, where Thor intends to rebuild Asgard.Just like I did with the end credits scenes for Guardians Vol. 2 and Black Panther, rather than shifting other films firmly established in a year, I can fix the credits scene mistake. In the first scene, Thor and Loki are chatting when their ship crosses paths with a much larger ship, which Avengers: Infinity War confirms to be Thanos’. This scene takes place in 2018, not 2017, which is why Infinity War seems to pick up right after Ragnarok.Marvel’s The Punisher season 1 (show, takes place 2017)A few months following Daredevil season 2, Frank Castle is trying to lay low and keep himself busy, but keeps having recurring nightmares of his families death. One complaint about the show is that it gives a new take on the deaths of Castle’s family, one different to what was revealed in Daredevil. Whilst this ruins MCU continuity, it could be an effect of PTSD, and having Castle not truly remember how his family died due to trying to shield it. The show features Karen Page, from Daredevil, and also introduces characters such as Micro, Billy Russo and Dinah Madani. Although trying to return to normal life, he soon gets wound up in a new adventure that pushes him back into being the Punisher.Runaways season 1 (show, takes place 2017)This show barely has any MCU ties, but according to Jeph Loeb, runner of Marvel Television, it is canon to the MCU. Taking place in San Francisco, the show revolves around a group of teenagers, who discover their parents are part of an evil cult, the Pride, and go on the run, whilst also discovering they each have super-powers. The show best takes place here, although it can kind of be watched anywhere from Civil War up to before Infinity War.One slight inconsistency: Nico Minoru, a character in the show, has a mum, a member of the Pride, named Tina Minoru. Tina Minoru, in the credits of Doctor Strange was apparently in that film too as one of Kaecilius’ minion sorcerers. For this, this Tina is a different one than that who appeared in Doctor Strange. Its just coincidence.Cloak & Dagger season 1 (show, takes place 2017)Taking place roughly around the time of Runaways, Cloak & Dagger sees two teenagers from opposite walks of life, collide when they discover they are connected through not only their pasts, but also a power that was infused inside of them. Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Johnson, are both on the same night, effected by an explosion which links them to the magical substances- the Lightforce and the Darkforce- the same Darkforce from Agent Carter and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The two eventually use their powers to put an end to crimes done by a powerful organisation from their past, the Roxxon Cooperation.Note, Roxxon Cooperation appears a few times throughout the MCU, across their films and shows. It plays the most vital role yet in Cloak & Dagger.Marvel’s Jessica Jones season 2 (show, takes place 2017)A few months following The Defenders, Jessica Jones is back at Alias Investigations, and is overwhelmed by the amount of work she is receiving, after her killing of Kilgrave in the first season. This season Trish Walker begins her journey to becoming her alter-ego, Hellcat, Jeri Hogarth is revealed to be dying, making her see new perspectives on the world, and Jess discovers more about her past, even coming into direct contact with her mother, who is revealed to be alive. In the season, Jessica makes a reference to the Raft Prison, the same one from Civil War, which signifies this show takes place following that film, although the Accords do not come into play in this show.Marvel’s Luke Cage season 2 (show, takes place 2017)Luke Cage has become a celebrity within Harlem, being referred to as Harlem’s Hero. He is in a relationship with Claire Temple at the shows beginning, and is living large. He sets his goals on taking down previous enemies, but soon gets pulled into a new battle with a new foe. Misty Knight in this show is recovering from having lost her arm in The Defenders, and Iron Fist makes a guest appearance in the show.Marvel’s Iron Fist season 2 (show, takes place 2017)Iron Fist is keeping to his promise and it protecting the streets of Hell’s Kitchen. In this season Danny must fight to retain his powers of the Immortal Iron Fist, and stop it getting from the wrong hands. The show features Netflix mainstays Colleen Wing, Misty Knight and Turk Barrett.Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 5 (show, takes place 2017–2018, 90+ (2091) years in the future)This season is a little different. The first 10 episodes take place 90 (2091) years into the future, where earth has been quaked apart and Kree aliens have taken control over the planet. The S.H.I.E.L.D. team; Phil Coulson, Melinda May, Daisy Johnson/Quake, Jemma Simmons, Alphonso MacKenzie and Yo-Yo have all been transported, Leo Fitz is the only one who remained in 2017. They work to try to free the surviving humans from the Kree’s rule and also find a way back home. In the second half of the season, the agents work to fix the timeline to ensure that the future is altered. In the season, Coulson reveals he is dying once again due to his wounds inflicted on him by Loki’s Scepter, and at the end of the season retires with May to a beach in Tahiti. The final four episodes feature a direct crossover with Infinity War, but nothing too severe- it won’t spoil anything. There is a passing reference where a character asks Daisy if she has seen the news, and what is happening in New York, and another moment where Mack is watching the events play out in New York. The final episode takes place around the same time as Thanos is on earth in Wakanda. Presumably, following the final shot of the season, that is when the snap happens that kills off half of all life in the universe.Marvel’s Daredevil season 3 (show, takes place 2018)It has been confirmed by Marvel that all the shows take place before Thanos’ snap which ended all of life in the universe. That places Daredevil season 3 here. Matthew Murdock is revealed to have not died after being crushed by a building in Defenders, as he was rescued by nuns and returns to his old orphanage- Saint Agnes Orphanage, (fun fact, this orphanage was also where S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, Daisy Johnson attended). In this season, Matt rises once more to become Daredevil and to put an end to crime lord, Wilson Fisk, who made a deal to leave prison. This season also shows his rise to becoming the Kingpin. The show introduces us to one of Daredevil’s archenemies- Bullseye, in Ben Poindexter, and also Sister Maggie, later revealed to be Matt’s mother. The season ends with Foggy and Matt agreeing to return to Nelson & Murdock, and Karen agrees to go with them. Bullseye is revealed to still be alive, after suffering from a potentially spine damaging injury.Ant-Man and the Wasp (film, takes place 2018)Two years after Civil War, Scott Lang has been under house arrest following his break out of the Raft Prison. His using of the Ant-Man suit in the airport battle with the Avengers has placed him at odds with Hank Pym and Hope van Dyne. When Scott has a dream of former Wasp, Janet van Dyne, and his experience in the Quantum Realm, he contacts Hank and they kidnap him, leaving a decoy so officials don’t think he bailed on house arrest. The film sees Hank try to rescue Janet from the Quantum Realm, and also sees a new generation of Ant-Man (Lang) and Wasp (Hope) take to the skies. The film introduces the idea that Cassie Lang may one day become her super hero alter ego, Stature. The film also introduces Jimmy Woo, Ghost, and Bill Foster. In the post credits scene, Scott is put back into the Quantum Realm in order to find power that can help save Ghost, however he gets trapped in there following Thanos’ snap, and his only chance for help, Hank, Janet and Hope, disappearing to ash.Marvel’s Captain Marvel Prelude (comic, takes place 2015–2018)Details the missions Nick Fury and Maria Hill go on following Age of Ultron and leads right up to Infinity War’s post credits scene when we see Nick and Maria turn to ash. It will supposedly end with the first official appearance of the MCU’s Captain Marvel.Avengers: Infinity War (film, takes place 2018)Immediately following the post-credits scene of Thor: Ragnarok, which takes place in 2018, Thanos’ ship intercepts Thor’s and kills half of the surviving Asgardians, the other half escaped presumably with Valkyrie and Korg. Thanos is fresh from destroying Xandar after having received the Power Stone and an Infinity Gauntlet from the planet. The film sees Thanos wreck chaos across the universe in his quest to find the six Infinity Stones. Pretty much every main MCU character appears in this film; Iron Man, Steve Rogers, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow, War Machine, Falcon, Scarlet Witch, Vision, Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Spider-Man, Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, Teenage Groot, Mantis, Pepper Potts, Ned, Loki, Heimdall, Nick Fury, Maria Hill, Shuri, Okoye, M’Baku, Nebula, etc. The Red Skull makes a reappearance, showing that following The First Avenger, the Tesseract brought him to the planet where the Soul Stone is, and he became the Stone Keeper. By the films end, Thanos achieves his goal, by collecting all six Infinity Stones, and snaps his fingers, wiping out half of all life in the universe, not before Nick Fury takes out a little device an calls for Captain Marvel’s help. (Those in bold above are who survived Thanos’ snap). In the film, Thor travels to the dwarf home planet, Nidavellir, where he meets Eitri. Eitri says he built an Infinity Gauntlet for Thanos in exchange for the safety of his people, which Thanos did not honour. If Eitri also made a Gauntlet for Thanos, then it is possible Thanos now has two Gauntlets in his possession. We don’t necessarily have to de-canonise that scene at the end of Age of Ultron. One other thing- yes, this means, if this film takes place in 2018, that we would have missed out on one fully school year of Peter Parker’s life. Parker would have gone from year 10, as a 15 year old, to a senior as a 17 year old. I know Marvel wanted to make Spidey’s films be like Harry Potter in its year by year style, but this doesn’t work when Marvel’s universe moves at such a progressive rate. When we meet Spidey in this film, he is 17 years old. Hopefully the Time Stone may alter history so that in Spider-Man: Far From Home he can still be in high school without being held back. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is the Official Timeline of the MCU through phases. Phase Three is not yet complete as Avengers 4 still needs to be added. Phase Four will begin with Spider-Man: Far From Home. We know Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has two more seasons down the pipeline (seasons 6 and 7). Cloak & Dagger and Runaways have another season coming each. Jessica Jones has another season on the way as does Punisher. On the new Disney+ streaming service, it has been announced that a Loki, Scarlet Witch and Falcon/Winter Soldier shows are in the works. An Avengers 4 Prelude comic is also heading our way. So, it is far from over, but this is what we have currently. If you’d like me to add a timeline of events in the order they occur, let me know.Check out my similar answer to fixing the X-Men film series timeline as well here: Callum Drage's answer to What’s the chronology & order of the X-Men movies? How many timelines exist & how are they connected?Note: I left out the comic-book adaptations of films- eg; Iron Man: I Am Iron Man!, Marvel’s Iron Man 2, Marvel’s Thor, Marvel’s Captain America: The First Avenger, Marvel’s The Avengers, Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War Prelude (which is an adaptation of Iron Man 3 and TWS), Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Prelude (an adaptation of GotG), Spider-Man: Homecoming Prelude (an adaptation of Civil War), Thor: Ragnarok Prelude (an adaptation of The Incredible Hulk and The Dark World), and the Ant-Man and the Wasp Prelude (which covers the events of Ant-Man). But if you must know- read them after you watch the films they retell. These comics take readers through the basic events of the films, but add extra details to some moments that aren’t seen in the film.I also left out the MCU “Inspired Titles.” These are stories that were originally meant to be made canon, but were subsequently pulled from official canon and now act more as stories inspired by the MCU films and characters. Here is a brief rundown of where they fit if you really wanted to include them;Iron Man: Fast Friends- Takes place both before Tony becomes Iron Man, and after Tony’s battle with Obadiah Stane following the film’s end battle. Explores the friendship between Stark and Rhodes. (2008–2010).The Incredible Hulk: The Fury Flies- Set prior to TIH, it had Fury hear that General Ross had restarted the Super-Soldier Serum project that created Captain America. Fury also witnesses Banner transform into Hulk with his own eyes. (2006–2011).Nick Fury: Spy’s Like Us- Tells of Nick Fury’s tales in the Cold War. (Note: Fury has only one eye in this comic, but in Captain Marvel he will have two eyes. This comic takes place in the 80s whilst CM will take place in the 90s. This proves that these are inspired tales and not canon). (1980s).Iron Man: Fist of Iron- No this is not a reference to Iron Fist, but instead tells a short story about Tony, on his way to a business meeting, getting caught up with some robbers. (2011).Captain America & Thor: Avengers- Set in during WWII- we follow two stories, one featuring Cap, the other featuring Thor. Cap and his Howling Commandos attack a HYDRA base, (1944), whilst Thor recruits Sif and Loki to help rescue Warriors Three member Fandral from capture (965 AD-2011).The Avengers Initiative- Has Nick Fury giving assessments of each Avenger prior to the Avenges film. (2012)Iron Man: The Coming of the Melter- Has Iron Man and War Machine team up to stop the Melter, a villain who has developed similiar suits to the pair. (2012–2013).Captain America: Homecoming- It’s Cap’s turn for a homecoming. Features Captain America and Black Widow fight terrorists in New York City. (2012–2014).Guardians of the Galaxy: Galaxy’s Most Wanted- An adventure featuring Rocket and Groot (2014).Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: The Chase- The comic acts as an episode set inbetween the episodes “Seeds” and “T.R.A.C.K.S.” (2013).Avengers: Operation Hydra- Explores the Avengers coming together to fight Hydra, and also features a storyline of Hawkeye trying to find his place in a team of gods, monsters, and men in iron suits. (2015).Ant-Man: Larger Than Life- It follows Hank Pym’s experiments controlling ants. (1970s-1980s).Captain America: Road to War- Follows Cap and Widow train the new Avengers; Scarlet Witch, Vision, Falcon and War Machine to battle the new robot foe- Ultimo. (2016).Doctor Strange: Mystic Apprentice- A story set concurrently to the film, it shows Doctor Strange in Kamar-Taj trying to tap into his astral form. (2016–2017).Sony Pictures recently released the first film in their Sony Marvel Universe, with Venom. Although Marvel Studios does not consider it canon to the MCU, Amy Pascal, runner of Sony Pictures and Spider-Man’s film devision, perceives the film to be set in an adjunct universe to that of the MCU. Adjunct means something that is added to something else, but it is not essential to the story. Think of Venom if you will, as a Netflix show. It is set in the MCU, but only adjunctly. If you wish to include Venom in your MCU movie marathon, even though it isn’t officially canon, you can view it in between Daredevil season 3 and Ant-Man and the Wasp, therefore making it set in 2018.

Did P.G. Wodehouse write a novel in one day?

There seem to be two kinds of stories about novelists: stories that may or may not be true, and stories that cannot be verified about whether or not they’re true.Let me give you an idea of what I mean: I was once a special student—special in the sense that I was not a candidate for a degree, having already received one—at the University of Oklahoma. There, I was privileged to study under some fantastic, well-known novelists and TV/Movie screenwriters. One of my professors, Professor Foster-Harris, was a truly great teacher and an eccentric. He touted himself as the last rebel—the southern, rebel-yellin’ horse-ridin’, hard moonshine and hard cider drinkin’ kind of rebel. He carried a love and affection for the grey uniform, Dixie, General Robert E. Lee (darn well better not simply call him General Lee, Jefferson Davis (darn well better not simply call him Jeff), and the Confederate victories. Professor Harris, called the greatest pulp fiction writer of the 20th Century, believed that John Wilkes Booth survived the barn fire (that it was a Booth co-conspirator’s body they found). Booth, Professor Harris said, survived and lived out his life near Guthrie, Oklahoma. He also said that he himself was the last rebel, and when he died, he was going to got to rebel heaven, tell them to nail up the gate ’cause there weren’t anymore coming. He was going to spend his life with the boys, drinking whiskey, moonshine, and eating his share of southern foods. Now, which of these were true, and which were blow-hard? Don’t know? Well, I’ll tell you: all of them were. I heard him tell these stories about himself in class and office consultations. Now, which of these were actually true? Well, he might have been a hard drinker, and he likely loved southern foods. And, there are those who believed that Booth actually did eventually die near Guthrie. But as for the rest of them? Well . . .So, now I’m guilty of the passing on of Foster-Harris tales and gales. So, here, we face the claim that P.G. Wodehouse may have written a book in one day. I, personally, have too much respect for Mr. Wodehouse to accept that story as true. Why, because Mr. Wodehouse had his own code, his own way of writing and doing things. His novels, earlyier in his career, were written at about 2,000 words a day, took about three months to finish; he, in his early career wrote on a typewriter but for his novel Bachelor’s Anonymous, written when he was older, took about six or seven months, was written on pads of paper, and his writing speed dropped to about 1,000 words a day. How do I know this? Abe Books published an interview with him in a 1975 when he was a ninety-one and a half year old PG Wodehouse, at his house on Long Island, New York. The interview was conducted by Gerald Clarke. There interview is here: P.G. Wodehouse: The Art of Fiction. I could not find a reference to a novel written by him in one day. Seems to me that the interview, a review of his work, would have been the perfect place to mention it. But again, when you read the interview you come to the conclusion that this is indeed what I was talking about: this is his code about writing. So no, I don’t believe he wrote a novel in one day. I can’t find any suggestion that he did, and I wouldn’t believe it if someone said it. Again, there are only two kinds of stories about writers.I hope I’ve answered your question. Thanks for asking.
