Rolling Garden Work Seat: Fill & Download for Free

In India one dollar is close to Rupees 70. That amount can buy lunch for two or snacks for four among the lower economic strata of Indian society in the place I live in.I can ask a laborer at a construction site right next door to use his crowbar and pry out a boulder stuck in the soil and roll and deliver it at my door step. It is sure to weigh at least 100 Kg (220 pounds). The laborer will be happy to collect that dollar (it is less than 15 minutes work for him) but I wouldn’t know what to do with that stone boulder except use it to decorate my garden. A piece of rock in one corner might add landscaping appeal to the garden and perhaps offer a seat for a person with tired feet and who just wants to sit.—

When I was growing up and attending k-12, I was female. When I reached 7th grade, we were assigned lockers for the first time. The locker bay had three sides to it and was closed after school by a red metal door that rolled down. The lockers were arranged 3-high in columns across rows. My locker was on the top row and I was only 5′ tall at the time. “Tommy Toucher” at 5′10″, had a locker that was in the middle row, one over to the right from mine. I never could figure out how they chose who got what locker because shorter people would end up with a top row locker and taller people would end up with middle row or bottom row locker.One day, I was twirling the dial to my locker with the combination to open it and Tommy Toucher took his right hand and cupped my right breast for a feel. I immediately jabbed my right elbow into his armpit as hard as I could. He jumped and let go, saying, “Owwww, why’d you do that?” I conveyed with the look on my face that I did it because he was being a jerk. I didn’t need to say anything. Tommy Toucher turned and left the locker bay.The following week, I was going to my locker and I saw Tommy Toucher talking to one of his friends. Tommy had his locker door open and his right hand was resting halfway on the vertical crossbeam and halfway inside his locker. Rage spread over my body and the burst of adrenaline that surged through me propelled me forward and with all my strength, my feet left the ground and I slammed that locker door onto Tommy’s hand. The pain didn’t immediately register with Tommy. He turned to see who had done this dirty deed, then his eyes rolled into the back of his head and he fainted while his friend screamed, “Wooooooow!” I strutted away. I was proud of my work.I was escorted to the principal’s office shortly thereafter and was questioned. I was too embarrassed to explain why I had done what I did. Instead, I kept calmly chanting, “I want my mother. I want my mother.” Dr. Forest said, “Oh, I’m calling your mother alright because I am suspending you for a week.” I had already told my mother what had happened the previous week and her response was, “Good. Take care of yourself. Next time, make it hurt worse so they will remember and will leave you alone.” When my mother arrived, Dr. Forest explained to her that I had broken a student’s hand and my mother replied, “Good.” Dr. Forest said, “What?!” My mother repeated it again, “I said. ‘Good’.” Then she explained why I had done it. I remember Dr. Forest not comprehending what it was like to be female and have your breasts grabbed. He missed the point.My mother and I spent the week together taking the RTD buses all over Los Angeles County. We visited the La Brea Art Museum, The Exposition Park History Museum and Rose Garden, Descanso Gardens in Pasadena and other places. It was years before I realized that in some inconspicuous way my mother was congratulating me for my fine work taking care of myself. I returned to school after my week off rested and refreshed.I walked down the row of my first-period class towards my assigned seat and there was Tommy Toucher sitting behind his desk resting his cast across the desk. He saw me and slid down a few inches in his seat. “Hi, Tommy,” I said, then winked. “Can I sign your cast?”
