PDF Editor FAQ
Why do most men grow taller than women? Is this because girls have puberty only till age 18 and boys till 21?
For those that wish to grow taller without pills, medications,. . Even you are over 30 years old, you should try Imodstyle Grow Taller Secrets (please search on google, i don’t remember the link). I Have got good results with it. I am a recreational volleyball players and play sand or indoor courts. Hence being tall is quite important, even only a couple of inches can make the difference between lossing or winning… I began following this program as a month ago and saw an increase in my height at least 3 inches.
Why although the American national teams are among the top of the world, volleyball in the USA still have limited success in professional terms?
Because there is not enough sponsorship money in it.In the US, volleyball (like soccer) is not viewed as a commercially marketable sport. Also, outside of coastal states, the interest in volleyball is much much lower than that of other major sports (football, basketball, baseball)There have been many attempts to commercialize it with the AVP (and MLS) but they struggle because corporate sponsorship money is just not there. In the last 2 Olympic games (Beijing, London) did you know the US was in Gold medal contention? In China both men's and women's teams were in the Gold medal match, and in London the women's team vied for Gold again. Were you even aware that the Men's team won the gold medal in Beijing? Do you know why you probably didn't know this? Because NBC televised the matches in the US at midnight and 3 am!And it's just a vicious cycle:Because sponsorship is not there, the international governing body, the FIVB has tried to make the sport more exciting by putting an emphasis on power more than skill, making rule changes that favor brute force over finesse. These changes have made the game very different from what is taught to many kids in PE class in grade school. The general public can no longer relate to the game, and because it is not televised in prime time, the general public never will.Because volleyball is not seen as a commercially marketable sport, matches are not televised on major network channels, or they are shown at off off hours.Because they are shown at off hours, the do not attract a big audience, and therefore they do not garner much advertisement money. Also because it is shown at off hours, the general public is not familiar with the sport and the rules, strategy and tactics, the scoring system.Because volleyball does not have big sponsorship money, the best athletes migrate towards other sports that do, like basketball and football.Since the best athletes go to other sports, the fans do not see as many feats of spectacular athleticism that might occur if the best athletes did play volleyball. Also because matches are shown at off hours, kids, the future potential volleyball players, do not get to see the sport, and dream of growing up to become a volleyball star.Because kids do not see the game, they don't know the rules, they don't want to play it at recess, they don't develop the skills until high school or later, so they are already behind other countries programs.Because they are shown at off hours, parents don't encourage their kids to be volleyball players, they don't take them to play on youth club teams, they don't form "volleyball booster" groups in high schools. You might think that I am just making up all of this off this off the top of my head. But I both witnessed and experienced this effect on US volleyball when the US Men's Olympic team won the Gold medal in 1984 (Los Angeles) and 1988 (Seoul) and the matches were televised in prime time. I watched the games while eating dinner and dreamed about playing like those teams did. I joined my high school volleyball team, and also witnessed a huge surge in the popularity of recreational volleyball that lasted for the next 20 years. Drop-in programs, adult recreational leagues, even pick-up games at the beach became wildly popular. There was a time that I knew where I could play a competitive pick-up game of indoor volleyball in several gymnasiums on any day of the week. And I have witnessed the attendance at these recreational games decline, as the years have passed, and the players grew older, gotten married, had kids.Without new enthusiasm generated in the general public by being able to view the sport on television in prime time, the popularity is definitely waning. Thousands of kids (and adults) are not growing up dreaming of someday playing volleyball in the Olympics, because they can't see it before their bedtime.NOTE: Edited to improve readability upon suggestion by Evelyn Lee.
Why does it seem like girls more often than not are in a relationship while guys aren't?
There’s one reason I’m sure of, and one possibility. The one I’m sure of is demographics. Nature provides more baby boys than baby girls. so there are more young men than young women. Look at this: Population Pyramids of the World from 1950 to 2100 . Please note that in the 20 to 35 age range that there are around 105 to 106 men for every 100 women. Since there is a surplus of men, more of them have to be unattached. The possibility is something that I’ve observed, and that is unpartnered women go out to public places less often than do unpartnered men. Many years ago when I was in my 20’s, I used to play coed recreational volleyball. This was at a very casual level, nobody was overly competitive and it was very friendly. Every season there would be an open registration, and there were a fixed number of spots available, equally divided between men and women. The men’s spots always filled up first. Then when the season started, we’d have a number of players who never came. They were always disproportionately women. Each week. most of the people came but some did not. Again, disproportionately this was the women who did not attend. Quite often we had to play 4 men and 2 women on each side because we just didn’t have enough women.Afterwards, we’d go out for pizza. Guess which gender was more likely to go?This is not the only place that I noticed the gender imbalance. I wasn’t much for going to bars but I had a friend who occasionally wanted to do so, so I’d go with him. True to form, the crowds there were mostly men. My sister came up to visit once, and we went out to an Irish pub. She looked around and remarked on how few women were in the place.
