This was one pdf app I tried. The others included PDFpenPro, PDF Expert, and Adobe Acrobat. Adobe Acrobat always has been too difficult and temperamental to use. PDFpenPro is excellent, especially the OCR function, but it's interface also is less intuitive than it should be. PDFExpert has a very good, very intuitive interface as well as many other features that are quite good. It's not as good as PDFPenPro at OCR. PDFElement 6 Pro was unusable because it crashes on my Retina MacBookPro, 15", Late 2013, 2 GHz Intel Core i7, 16GB RAM, OS X 10.14.6. I found that the Find command didn't work, nor did the autoupdate. These may have been fixed in version 7. I'm not sure.
