In real life people aren’t aware of us being INFPs, so…strangely enough we don’t get labeled with them as much.We’re crybabies - this is possibly the most ludicrous. INFPs have Fi (Introverted Feeling). Our feeling is an inner process and people are rarely even aware of it. We are much more likely to be accused of not showing enough emotion/people not being able to read us (on a personal note: NFJs complain they can’t read me).We’re irrational - all the judging functions are rational. Fi uses values as it’s filter - not logic alone. If you project your own judging function onto us you’re doing us a disservice. Of course we’ll come up lacking when you do this - you’re misrepresenting how we think. This leads into the next point (not being Fe).We’re selfish - this is another thorn in the paw one. INFPs are highly compassionate, empathetic and adaptable. You have no idea how ‘go with the flow’ we usually are. The vast majority of the time we go with what others want rather than what we want. We consistently sacrifice our time to be there for others and rarely get this in return. When we do stand our ground it’s because we have strong moral values and boundaries - we consider this a positive thing.We’re not analytical - Fi is a highly analytical judgment function. If anything we are over-analytical. Once again - we’re not necessarily using logic alone as our go-to.We’re not intelligent - INFPs are the third type most likely to be gifted (after the INTs). You’ll often find INFPs in academia and other intellectual areas. Other types don’t give us credit here - especially other INs - it’s like they exclude us from this group for some reason. Fi does not equal childish unintelligent emotional reactivity.We can’t exist in the real world/we’re useless - there’s some truth to this but it’s also an error in perception - we simply don’t value the things a lot of the people in our society value. INFPs want a meaningful life: wealth accumulation and keeping up with the Jones’ just seems like a waste of a life to us - we’d rather live a minimalistic life and have time to create, learn, and contemplate the Universe.We can’t make decisions - we’re Ps - this means that we don’t like making decisions until we’ve gathered as much information as possible. The older we get, the stronger our values become; the more self-aware we are; the stronger our boundaries become - the quicker the decision. We can make judgments on taste immediately. If we defer decisions to others it’s because we don’t care about the choice and we’re happy for you to choose.We need people to look after us - INFPs are pretty self-sufficient. We would prefer to make our own decisions by consulting our Fi. We’re one of the more independent types.We’re weak - there are times we don’t have strong opinions about things so we just adapt to the situation. We let things flow to see where they’ll go and what we’ll learn. When we do have a strong opinion you’ll be the first to encounter the unbreachable wall. We’re strong when it’s important and we need to be. If it’s not important we often prefer to just get along with people. We often don’t feel the need to compete/put ourselves above others. We are egalitarian by nature - this is not weakness.There’s bound to be many more I can’t think of at the moment: we are close to, if not the most misunderstood type.
