You need to read, write, and understand English perfectly.2- Forget about your local clients. If you want to make more money you need to focus completely on adquiring clients from english speaking countries.3- Set up profiles on online marketplaces like Freelancer - Hire & Find Jobs , Upwork, the world's largest online workplace , Find Jobs and Hire skilled Freelancers, at a click , and others.These profiles must be in English, very descriptive, showing a good portfolio, and you must show your picture.Also you must set the same picture on your skype account.If you dont have a good portfolio, you can create demos of what you can do or work for free with ONGs developing their websites .4- You must browse the projects in the marketplaces every day and leave bids with low prices.I know, if you leave low prices you will make less money. But now you don’t have to care much about money.Right now you want to get all the projects possible to increase your reputation on the marketplace, to get reviews from customers, and to get to know some customers.When you have worked with a few customers and you did a good job, they will contact you again for working on new projects.At that point you can increase your rates.5- You have to create your website in English showing your portfolio, services, and all your info.The website must be beautiful and compelling. When someone visits your website, the copy must convince them that you are a very good developer, they need you, and you can help them.6- You can set up ads on Facebook and Google to send traffic to your website from English speaking countries.If your website is compelling, you will receive some leads / clients .7- Optionally, you can set up a blog on your website and post content interesting to your potential clients. And promote that content on social media , do guest posting , and advertise it on Facebook and Google.Edit:8- You have to place email subscriptions form on your posts and ask people to subscribe. This way you will have a list of potential clients and you can send them promotions or discounts for your services.9- Place call actions at the end of your posts offering your services . This will increase your conversions.Notes:1- The clients you will get on marketplaces are mostly companies or individuals outsourcing projects. So they will pay you less than what real clients pay, but they can send you work regularly.The clients you will get on your website are real clients , people who actually need your services and they are willing to pay you a premium price , but working them requires more sales time and support.So you can focus strongly on points 1 - 4 if you want steady work from a handful of clients with little support time and complications but earning a little less money.You can focus strongly on points 5 to the end if you want to work directly with real clients earning a bit more money but dealing with support and sales tasks.If you do all these, I guarantee you will be making a very good living sooner or later , I can tell you from experience :)

In 2002 I was working for a division of General Electric near Minneapolis. The job was tough but it was a great learning experience that sometimes came with unusual perks. This is one.The building that we worked in was quite large and at one time had been decorated with a very extensive art collection. Over the years as the office space had been expanded and renovated much of the art, which was acquired in the 1970s and 80s, had been taken off the walls and put into storage.With new management the idea had been floated to clear out much of the storage in the building while getting ready to renovate the whole space. Part of this meant getting rid of all the old artwork. Someone should’ve called in a gallery or an auction company to assess what was there and sell it off but instead they had the idea to offer the art to the employees.An email was sent around with photos of each piece (about 50 altogether) and everyone had a chance to bid on each item, with reserves starting at around $25. Much of the art was not terribly good and not terribly valuable, but a few pieces stood out, at least to me.The first one that caught my eye was a photograph by an American named Nicholas Nixon. He is well known for his decades-long project photographing his wife and her sisters each year. The series, called “The Brown Sisters,” began in the mid-70s and continued for more than 30 years.I had seen this image, which was made in 1980, at least two times before. Once in LIFE magazine.And although I wasn’t able to examine the actual photo, the description sure made it sound like this was an original print. In the end only one other person bid on it and I won the piece for $70.Sure enough, when I paid my money and received the photo the following week it was nicely framed with gallery stickers on the back marking it as an original print by Nixon from 1980. I knew it must be worth quite a bit more than $70, but little did I know how much it was worth.The photo had a prominent place of display in my home for about 15 years. When I finally sold it to a gallery in Boston they paid me about $10,000.
