[GFDL (GNU Free Documentation License) or CC BY-SA 4.0 (Creative Commons - Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International - CC BY-SA 4.0)], via Wikimedia CommonsWhen we arrived at the meeting, Andrew was nowhere near ready to sign the final contract covering software, consulting and special training.Instead, Andrew wanted to talk about every line item of the contract in excruciating detail, over and over again.Attorneys Had Already Given Their BlessingsI completely understood his desire to feel comfortable about the contract, except we’d been talking about the same points multiple times over the course of three months.His attorneys had blessed the contracts multiple times, yet he constantly dragged his feet with more questions.Based on his assurances he was finally ready to sign the contract, we’d planned to get everything finalized in one day, with a return flight to Dallas already booked.Nothing Comes Before Coffee And DoughnutsAlthough the meeting with Andrew started promptly at 9:00 am, he delayed the meeting for one hour while he drank coffee and ate doughnuts.Trying to nudge him towards the contract was futile. He would not budge from his morning meal, making small talk the entire time.Once he finished his last doughnut, we managed to get him to focus on the contract, which he dissected for one hour before he announced it was time for lunch.Lunch Was Just Another DistractionHe was unwilling to discuss the contract at lunch, instead of discussing Texas politics and the possible presidential aspirations of then-Governor George W. Bush.After lunch, we corralled him back to his office until 1:30 pm when he abruptly announced that his entire company was shutting down to attend a special parade.We were incredulous. What was happening?The CEO was adamant everyone attend the parade, including us. The News Media is Very LiberalThen there is the systematic oppression as demonstrated by Twitter and other Big Tech firms. A polite debate on gun control gets the pro-gun side banned. Liberal reporters can tell unemployed miners “learn to code” but people get banned for saying the same thing to laid off reporters. You can’t discuss transgender politics without getting banned if you use someone’s birth name or fail to submit to the biases built into the language liberals require you to use to even participate in the debate. Examples: calling a virus from China a Chinese virus and referring to violent protests as riots both get you called racist. Never mind it is true in every other context. And liberals in power control that “context”.Refuse to join the moral show, and you’re attacked as evil, because silence as violence. Do you now have to go along with every political mandate simply to be allowed to talk to your friends and family? Like a post by the Communist Party and clap for the Chairman in a video game, and you gain points … and may even be eligible for a better job or low fees on car rentals.It is truly systemic oppression by algorithm, because AI monitors you on social media, your purchases, your behavior and takes input from political officers/Karens who report on you. It all gets summed up on a score that determines whether you can travel, make phone calls or do anything other than minimum wage dirty jobs.And you want to tie our right to speak in the digital public square or access information to standards set by those in power at the time? No.In summary, what you’re proposing is true systemic oppression of speech. And forcing people to publicly lie to be allowed to exercise their rights is tyranny.
