Undergoing Mid 20's crisis.After working for 3 years in an IT company, which now I consider as the best time of my life, I resigned. Not to join any other company or to do MBA or startup but to try for UPSC - A central body that conducts exams for getting into IAS, IPS, IRS, IFS.. and so on. Here is my storyThe TVF Pitcher's 1st episode had - Jab aadmi apni 9 se 5 ki naukri se pareshan ho jata hai tab usko 3 hi raaste dikhayi dete hai; MBA, IAS & Startup.(When a person get tired of his 9 to 5 job, he/she see's only 3 options; MBA, IAS, Startup)But this was not with me. Mai ekdum pareshan nhi tha apni job se (I was not at all worried or tensed about my job). In fact, I was loving it as you'll read it below.Life then (Age- 23,24,25) : Mumbai, Life was good, way better than I had ever expected.I graduated in 2011. Just 1.5 years into my first company, I was set to enjoy the European summers. I was given an onsite opportunity to do some work and ensure smooth Go-Live of my project across the Baltic and Nordic countries. I was stationed at Norway from where I had to ensure a smooth Golive across 7 countries. After successful Go live, I made the best use of my time, thanks to my Schengen visa, I travelled a few place in Europe.On completion of 2 years, I was single handedly managing the entire project, from cost estimations to deliverables, I was endowed with many responsibilities - both technical and non-technical(managerial) . I was also mentoring a group of new joinees. I also received the best salary hike among my friends who had joined with me, my designation was still a Software Engineer but my responsibilities were like that of a Manager.2.5 years- Appreciations poured from senior management and client. I was awarded for my valuable contribution(the certificate said that)to the copany and project. A great moment indeed.Close to 3 years- My manager informs me about three thingsHe asked me to initiate H1B visa formalities for USTold me his plan to send me to Australia for a short time assignment.And lastly informed that, in the coming appraisal cycle, I will be promoted to Senior Software engineer.I was in awe, thrilled, anxious and worried at same time because for past few weeks I had something in my mind- ResignationBack in Mumbai, I had a car, good amount of money(thanks to my onsite), lovely life, long drives, bar, pubs, endless parties, movies, shopping and what not! but somewhere I felt unhappy. I realized that this was not what I always wanted to do. I was not pursuing my aspirations.The Decision(25)- Mid 20's Crisis: I always wanted to be an IAS officer, but I got drifted away by sudden chain of events- All good! I therefore, never got a time to ponder about my aspirations, my long time desire infact they just faded away with good things coming up on my way.When I was in Norway, I was in love with that place. Happy people, clean cities, effective administration, efficient transportation, good economy, healthcare and education. I wished the same for my country. I realized I was working for a foreign client to make things simple for them. The question was, apart from contributing to my country's GDP, I wasn't doing something that could help Indian people directly. It was then, all of a sudden, I remembered about my long forgotten desire - To be an IAS officer.When I resigned, my manager was shocked, but at the same time was very supportive. He even offered my that any time if I wish to join back, the door would always be open. I remember my last day in office. 4th of July, 2014 it was. Everyone was receiving appraisal letters, people were celebrating and I was just sitting at my workstation thinking the unthinkable. Heavy heart, sad, emotional, silent, detached with gloomy feelingsLife now (26) :So here I am now in Delhi, jobless, alone with all my savings now almost coming to an end.No more parties, no more pubs, 24*7 inside my rented flat, No TVs, no trips. My shopping now is restricted to buying books, magazines pens and register. From page 3 of TOI to editorial of 'The Hindu' and Indian Express, life has a taken a big turn. I have heard a lot about Game of Thrones, but I have't yet watched a single episode. I know I would get addicted to it just the way I was with Prison Break back in my college days and therefore stayed away from it.Competing against 9 Lakh candidates for one seat out of 100 (IAS) is tough, It's a cut throat competition with exam getting tougher year by year. You are required to know everything under the sun. From geo politics to endless Govt. initiatives. History, art and culture from time immemorial till present time. From foreign relations of India to local government functioning...and what notRegrets: Not yet! though sometime I think about the time that was and also if I have made the right choice. But I don't let it stick in my head for a long time. Though I miss the parties, the drives, the fun, the earning, weekends, I don't crave for it.

A ‘Muslim registry’ is a religious test which would be a First Amendment violation. Having a registry of all citizens with the information you highlighted in the question details doesn’t exist, per se (although it probably does between a combination of Social Security, national security, and IRS information if you ran the correct queries on it) BUT would probably be considered a Fourth Amendment violation if it “existed” and was challenged — but what do I know? Overall, I think this is at best a bad, ineffective, and inefficient policy, and at worst plainly illegal and violates the constitution.Also, while terrorism in the form of Islamic extremism is a concern, I have a hard time seeing how a database would really accomplish anything.
