Throughout the war, the U.S. Navy lost 2 battleships, 5 aircraft carriers, 6 escort aircraft carriers, 7 heavy cruisers, 3 light cruisers, 65 destroyers, 52 submarines and a myriad of other ships. However, only one captain - Charles B. McVay of the heavy cruiser Indianapolis - was court-martialed for losing a ship in action against the enemy. If the names sound familiar, it’s most likely because Indianapolis was the ship that carried the atomic bomb “Little Boy” to the U.S. Airforce base at Tinian Island.Two days after delivering the bomb, Indianapolis received orders to proceed to Leyte Gulf in the Philippines. Captain Charles B. McVay requested a destroyer escort against Japanese submarines but higher-ups assured him that it would not be necessary because - they said - there was no enemy submarine in the area. Four days later on 30 July 1945, Indianapolis was spotted and torpedoed by the Japanese submarine I-58. The U.S. cruiser sank in less than 15 minutes. Some 300 of the total 1,196 sailors went down with the ship, the other 900 - with few lifeboats and life jackets among them - suffered dehydration, exposure, hypernatremia, and shark attacks for nearly 4 days before they were found and rescued on 2 August. By then, only 317 crewmen were alive.“Higher-ups” should have had better intelligence about enemy activity in the area (In fact, just six days prior to the sinking of the Indianapolis, the destroyer Underhill had been attacked and sunk in the area by Japanese submarines but McVay was never informed of it.) They should have given Indianapolis a destroyer escort when McVay requested it. They should have tracked the ship more closely so that its sinking and survivors could have been noted much earlier.But instead of blaming themselves, they made McVay scapegoat and put him on trial with the charge of failing to zigzag in good visibility. The facts that 1) the weather was actually particularly bad, 2) McVay had discretionary authority to zigzag or not and 3) the Japanese submarine commander later testified that he could have sunk even a zigzagging Indianapolis - all meant nothing to the court.The court-martial humiliated and devastated McVay. Vicious letters and phone calls from grief-stricken relatives of dead crewmen who’d served aboard the Indianapolis didn’t help either. On 6 November 1968, McVay committed suicide with his service pistol. It wasn’t until the year 2000 that McVay was vindicated by Congress.

On a flight from Mumbai to London I gave up my bulkhead seat to let a new father sit with his wife and kids. His seat was a middle seat between two, rather large, individuals.As soon as the plane started taxiing I got one of the worst migraines of my life. I pulled my blanket over my head and just prayed it would be over soon. When the flight attendant had me take my blanket down she noticed the tears streaming down my face and asked what was wrong and why I wasn’t in my seat. I told her and she promptly moved me in back and put me on oxygen.The other flight attendants then proceeded to move a business class passenger to first class and put me in business class. After that they had the captain call their doctor and they were authorized to give me a tranquilizer.When I woke in the morning I started to get up to move back to my seat and the business class flight attendant would have none of it. He proceeded to go back and grab all of my belongings. The flight attendant, who helped me the night before, gave me big hug before disembarking. I wish I could properly thank her and regret not sending a letter to British Airways about how exceptional their service was.

Ah the games! Mueller's Authority is now being challenged. A Federal Judge has stated that he doubts Mueller has "Unlimited" authority, and has demanded to see his "Letter of Instruction" ( which is VERY highly Classified ). The Deputy Atty General (Rosenstein) Refused to deliver it to the Federal Judge, and now stands in Contempt. Rosenstein offered a bargain a "Meeting with Congressmen Nunes and Gowdy, but "No Letter". He is now in Contempt of Congress as well.The BS is beginning to "Unravel".$10 Million US dollars spent, a year gone by, nothing found ( worthy of a Special Prosecutor ) It was revealed however, that Mueller DOES NOT have the Authority to indict President Trump.So what is he doing? Why? For Whom? What is he looking for? Who does he answer to? How long is he authorized to proceed?It's all a "Secret"..It's a Secret and Congress is getting damned tired of it!Congressman Gowdy says: It's time for a report, some results, some information, and some answers. Rosenstein says..."No, I have to protect my source."Democrats want to push as close to the November election as possible. There's only 5 months left, but a lot can happen. They don't have anything "Against Trump" to give Congress... so they have to .. Go Public with "partial information" leaks, "What they're going to prove" ( although they never do ) and every other "dirty trick" in the little black book to make Republicans Look as bad as possible - just in time to shock voters into voting against them in November.Right now, it's going to be a fight for them to keep it together that long. The Democrats "Dirty Laundry" is beginning to show. The investigation is winding down ..Dems are getting desperate to tie "Something Big" to the administration, but they're running out of time to find, buy or manufacture it...
