PDF Editor FAQ

Have you ever not been given justice for a crime committed against you?

Recycling is apparently optionalIn some locations justice is denied all the time. I recall going to a man's house to arrest him on an outstanding drug-sale charge. This particular house was one of two old Victorian three-story houses, right next to each other. A hundred years ago would have each been magnificent. But the neighborhood was now a slum and the two houses combined were probably worth less than the new Lexus parked outside of them. They were both drug houses which were owned by the same family. At any given time there were at least twenty people in each house. We raided these houses on several occasions and they were really disgusting on the inside. Including no working bathroom facilities; well you get the picture. That's one thing that always bugged me. Drug dealers would have all this money but wouldn’t spend a dime to properly maintain their house or grounds or even keep food in the refrigerator. They would put an old sofa or two on the front porch for people hanging out to lay all over. These houses had 10-foot ceilings and you could tell many years ago they were beautiful with custom moldings and trim. Some had specially patterned hardwood floors in fancy designs with rosewood accents. But these to were all destroyed by the foulness of the occupants. These dealers had to have the flashiest car and the most expensive clothes, but lived in absolute filth. In the larger house, we found one interior room which was octagon shaped. The door seemed to be fortified and wouldn’t open. There was a transom over the door which was missing, so it was really just a two foot rectangular opening above the door.We forced the door open to find it filled with a pile of clothes. Not what you would picture. The room was actually filled with wall to wall clothes piled to a depth of about four feet. There were all kinds of clothes from baby clothes to every type of adult clothing. The room stunk really bad.All we could come up with by way of explanation was, the people would wear the clothes until they reeked and then simply throw them in the room through the opening above the door. They had tons of new clothes in there rooms. Most had the price tags and security tags still on them and were from expensive stores in the local mall.I’d see a pile of maybe twenty NFL name brand jerseys at a hundred dollars each. Also maybe five leather jackets from a leather specialty store at six to eight hundred dollars each. It was clear they were trading junkie’s drugs for shoplifted clotheGetting back to the arrest, we located the man and took him into custody. As we are walking him out onto the porch about ten people get in our way screaming and yelling about taking their relative away. During the pushing and pulling that ensued, a young lady who was just 18 picked up a bag of garbage which was sitting outside. She came up from behind me and hit me over the head with the bag.In the bottom of the bag was a glass bottle which made a direct hit on my head and I saw stars. She was quickly arrested and charged with aggravated assault on police. In NJ any simple assault when directed against a police officer becomes an aggravated assault.Later they expanded the law to include firemen, teachers, school employees, utility workers, youth coaches and just about any other public worker or volunteer who could vote. This really watered down a statute meant to protect police, but it probably helped on Election Day. Oh, I forgot to mention election workers.I remember going to grand jury and testifying in the case. They asked me if getting hit by the bag of trash actually injured me or was it more a matter of pride. I thought to myself, another lazy prosecutor who didn’t even read my report.I replied by saying that there was a glass bottle in the bottom of the bag which struck me in the head leaving a large bump, a small cut and caused me to see stars. I was also fairly sure this family was not recycling. The grand jury laughed at my humor and did indict the young lady. The prosecutor reviewed that matter and decided not to further pursue criminal charges in this matter, as no significant injury was caused, as long as the 18-year-old agreed to get her GED. That was it, nothing more was said on the matter. They would call it prosecutorial discretion. I called it a lazy worthless prosecutor’s office strikes again. Later I learned to only charge people with simple assault so it would go to municipal court and they would actually have trials and be convicted. It was a shame one piece of our criminal justice system was so badly broken, that justice was denied with amazing regularity.

After the January 6th Capitol building breach, what happens now?

A “not since 9/11” coordinated federal and state effort is under way. (Note: I’m angry but my anger has to be tempered by the fear I have of vindictive justice and government overreach. I can be passionate as I’m just a nobody on the sidelines, but the government has to be calm and fair. The accused are still innocent until proven guilty in a court. That said, I give myself broad permission to despise insurrectionist, terrorists and traitors.)Most companies I know of have blacklisted Parler and its employees. It appears that Parler’s full backend data including PMs and deleted comments have been downloaded and archived by non-Parler members. (Every Deleted Parler Post, Many With Users' Location Data, Has Been Archived)Everybody arrested or charged has been added to the no-fly list. (Watch the YouTube videos of the guy crying, see below.)A massive, gargantuan number of broad, archival metadata warrants have been submitted across technology industries (oh, cute, you think deleting that conversation thread helped you).ATT, T-Mobile, Verizon have all been working with feds to identify every idiot who left their phone on. Meaning that if they had propinquity to the insurrection, they will be investigated. (Cell signals cannot penetrate the thick walls so the Capitol has its own internal cell system and those idiots all left their phones on. Essentially: “Hi, I’m Dan Holliday. I’m here!”)Teams of civilians (who identified the ZipTie terrorist) are releasing the terrorists’ names to the public.Teams of feds and police are doing the same. Arrests are being made.Trump is toast. His swift fall from the zeitgeist is glorious as he’s taking his asshole enablers with him.Guys. When the US federal government sets its sights on you in a JUSTIFIED manhunt you just have no understanding of how powerful their reach is. Every digital or financial signature. Your car rental. Your hotel rental. Your phone pings. Your digital history. Every thing you’ve ever bought electronically. Every single text or email. Every social media post. It’s looking worse and worse what happened. Not a coordinated insurrection but a Trump fomented Beer Hall Putsch with a collection of government and military officials. Their lives are done. They will never fly again. They will remain jobless for life. (Edit: Overly broad. Most of them if convicted, will have painful barriers to things like employment and travel that will ruin their lives.) They will lose their right to bear arms and right to vote. A quiet date with a noose would be good. Generally, the US government considers it globally inconvenient to execute so unless someone explicitly pulled the trigger. Expect several dozen to spend their remaining years behind bars.Today I permit myself another sip on Châteauneuf-du-Schadenfruede. Just one glass though. (“It’s a new year. I’m detoxing.” “Yes Dan. So is the rest of the US.”) These insurrectionist traitors demanded a win because of emotions even while they whine about SJWs constantly complaining about their emotions. The irony and swift justice is enjoyable.“Waaah. We are the good guys. We get to stage a coup. We get to kill people. We get to destroy public property. Boo-hoo. We get to win they have to lose. See how we are oppressed!?”For a good time, go to Twitter or Facebook and use the hash-tag “#NoFlyList” and see the … “stories”. I will regret this in a few weeks, but I watched them. I want to find a way of celebrating justice without gloating towards those fucking insurrectionists. When I figure it out, I’ll let you know.
