What is your view on the Ranchi Court asking Richa Bharti to distribute copies of Quran as a condition for bail in a social media offensive post case?
What is your view on Ranchi Court asking a woman to distribute copies of Quran while granting bail over her Facebook post over Tabrez Ansari’s death?Answer on Request.First of all, forget about the bail. My question is why was she even arrested at the first place? Is criticizing a group of people or a religion crime in a secular country? Where is the freedom of speech? This is the sole reason why I strongly advocate repealing of IPC 295A. Criticism of religion or religious group must be tolerated in order to protect freedom of speech of an individual. This section opresses freedom of expression under the guise of public order and hurting religious sentiments, hence it should have no place in any civilized society.—And with regards to the court order, I think it was not only funny but also extremely shameful on the part of Indian judiciary that such type of absurd and silly order was passed.Distribute 5 copies of Qur'an!!I mean what is the relation of 5 copies of Qur'an with Tabrez Ansari’s unfortunate death? Is court indirectly asking to promote a particular faith in order to get bail? These are some sensitive questions which must be raised strongly. Scholarly and Intellectual work has been banned in past with the misuse these same sections of IPC. Leave the court aside, I don't think even Quazi of sharaiah court will deliver such type of ridiculous order. Because Qur'an itself says in Chapter Baqrah and Ayah 265:GoogleThis is the high time liberals should strongly oppose such decisions because in past many authors and writers have been banned just to protect so called sentiments of a particular group. These books include Salman Rushdi’s satanic verses (for criticizing Prophet), The Hindus: An Alternative History by Wendy Donigerm (Banned for portraying Indian Gods in a humourous manner.), The Ramayana as told by Aubrey Menen (Banned for satirising the Ramayana) and many more.~K.U.Farqaleet
If the letter Meghan wrote to her father was given to him, does that not then make it his property to do with as he sees fit. Also wouldn't she have had to have the copy rights in order for it to be classed as her property?
Right. UK law: the author of a letter owns the copyright of the letter.[1]Someone who has been sent or given a physical letter has ownership of the physical letter, and can dispose of it as she or he wishes. But the possessor of the physical work does not own its copyright. So Thomas Markle was in the right legally to sell or give away the letter from his daughter to the Mail on Sunday, as he has sold or given away his relationship with his daughter, the truth and his soul. However, the Mail on Sunday did not own the copyright to the letter. And therefore they committed a crime when they published it without the copyright holder’s permission. For the sake of clarity, the letter was not already in the public domain. One “friend” of Meghan interviewed by People magazine mentioned the letter but did not quote from it — not that that would have altered the facts. And the publication of the letter was not in the “public interest”, because communications between family members on family issues are not covered by a ”public interest defence. “Public interest” does not mean “whatever prurient members of the public are interested in.”Finally, the Mail on Sunday is also in breach of Chapter 42 Schedule 1 Part 1 Article 8 of the Human Rights Act 1998[2] , as the publication violates the “reasonable expectation of privacy” enjoyed by any citizen, including celebrities and members of the Royal Family.Footnotes[1] Information: Letters - BCC[2] Human Rights Act 1998
What is a content delivery network in layman's terms?
Before I answer, lets agree on a single axiom: Copying files digitally has virtually no cost associated to it. (there is a cost but it is very very very little). So, what is a content delivery network? Let's take a hypothetical (but fun example). Everyone loves Game of Thrones book yeah? Well lets assume the author only published ONE single copy of the book. Yep, just one!He decided to keep this copy in a library in Chicago. Out of all the places in the world where he could have kept the book, he opted for Chicago (hey! his choice right!)Say, you live in Miami. So you drive all the way up north to Chicago, stand in queue, and get a digital copy of the 1st chapter you want to read. In order to do so, you have to drive all the way back to Miami, and then read the chapter in peace. The word gets out, Game of Thrones is the book to read. So people start driving towards Chicago. From London. From Tokyo. From Lima. From Delhi. From Sydney. The freeways approaching towards Chicago, start to get clogged. The digital copying machine at the library starts to get a long queue. In addition to this, other regular users to the library also start getting affected. Heck! Even the regular commuters to Chicago downtown start getting affected. This is how servers behave. Your website is the book. A page you load from a website, is the equivalent of reading a chapter. The time it takes for you to make a copy, is the latency time from where your computer physically is and where the origin server is.Clearly you can see, this is not an efficient way of doing things! Surely there has to be a better option! You betchya! So, with the great demand on the Game of Thrones book, and the traffic mess it is causing in and around Chicago, the long wait times, the sheer load on the copying machine, the disadvantage for those living far away, someone thinks of a really cool way to solve this problem.First, they go and make a contract out with 100s of libraries all over the world. Cities like London, Amsterdam, New York, Dubai, Singapore, Sydney, Lima, Cape Town, Cairo, Moscow, Beijing, Atlanta, Orlando, Houston, San Francisco, Seattle, etc. Then they keep like a minimum of say 1,000 digital copies capacity of the book in each library. They don't have the book right there and then, but they have the capacity to keep 1,000 copies of it.Now, lets repeat the same scenario again, you live in Miami and you want to read the 1st chapter... where do you go?Lets say an all-seeing eye (otherwise known as the DNS), tells you, "Hey dude! You're in Miami, and the nearest library is in Orlando which has a copy of the book". Voila! Well that certainly shortened the time to fetch. So you drive up to Orlando, and you notice the freeways to Orlando are less clogged than they were whilst the book was in Chicago. There are 1,000 copies capacity, but since you are the first to request a copy, the following happens: Someone from the Orlando Library only drives very quickly to Chicago, makes a copy of the 1st chapter, hands one copy to you, and makes 1000 duplicates of Chapter 1 and stores them. So, for you, getting Chapter 1 was pretty easy. You were able to make a copy pretty quickly, jump back in your car to Miami and read it in peace.Imagine the person from Los Angeles? Well for them, San Francisco is near. For Birmingham (UK), the nearest library is London. For Brussels (Belgium) the nearest library is Amsterdam. You get the drift. Now that you have read the 1st chapter, you decide to go and fetch the 2nd chapter. Same came, you hop into a car, go to Orlando, and you are about to head for the copy machine to make a copy, but no need. Someone came before you, and a copy of Chapter 2 is already there. So this time, the fetch time for Chapter 2 was even quicker, because you did not have to wait for someone from Orlando Library go to Chicago Library and make a copy of Chapter 2. It was already done for you.Time for Chapter 3, except now the all-seeing-eye reports a problem. There is a water-leak at the Orlando Library, so everything is closed. Bummer! Well fear not! You now have two choices: Atlanta or Houston? Common sense says Atlanta, and off you go to Atlanta, you get a copy of Chapter 3, and return back to Miami. Slightly a longer trip, but much much shorter than the trip to Chicago in all the rush traffic. The spreading of the books in various libraries around the world, in the points-of-presence (or POP). In the industry, this is known by many names! Caching Node, Node, Cache Location, Cache, etc. But we will keep it simple and call it a Node. The all-seeing-eye is the DNS Redirector. It determines where you are and then redirects you to the nearest (operational) Node. The system itself has redundancy built-in. With so many copies in so many places, even if a single Node is experiencing trouble or load, the DNS redirector will redirect you a the next available least loaded, nearest Node. Moreover, it all prevents vandals from destroying the original copy. Since only the Librarians of all the Nodes know the exact location of the book (pssst! which is in Chicago, on Rack 6:38, 3rd floor), no one else knows about this. By virtue of having a CDN, there is a secret code, that no user would be told of the location of the original book, so that you all don't destroy it, or tear pages or doodle on it. Only the Librarians of the Nodes can access it. Pretty neat huh!To make things even better, when the author releases the second Game of Thrones novel, the CDN guys decide to do someone one notch better. Instead of again and again requesting traffic (chapters) from Chicago - they make 1,000 copies of a book for each library and deliver them to each and every Node. Now, each Node has 1,000 copies, that includes all the chapters, etc. So now no more driving from Atlanta to Chicago to fetch. The content is already there. What Content Delivery Networks do, in essence is that they short-circuit the distance, i.e. reduce the latency between the Origin Server and your computer. They do this so by placing a proxy/caching server at Nodes all around the world. An automatic benefit of this is that it also protects the original book. Then there are all the bells and whistles, like if the someone requests Chapter 19, the Node says, "Hey, I do have a copy here, but the note on it says, check with Chicago to see if this Chapter has been updated or not, so I am going to discard this copy and get a fresh copy from Chicago"This way, fresh content is always available to you....and this is how Content Delivery Networks work!
