Rajasthan has seen a change of government in every 5 years since 1990 and this time the competition between BJP and INC is neck to neck, the current Vasundhara Raje government has failed in all fronts. Upcoming state assembly elections of 2018 are seen as the semi finals of 2019 Lok Sabha elections.Both the parties are trying there best to outdo each other in reaching out to people ahead of the election, with seemingly mixed results so far. CM Vasundhara Raje’s Gaurav Yatra witnessed protests in Jodhpur and Bikaner while she got an overwhelming response in Udaipur. The Congress has also hit the ground with its ‘Sankalp’ rallies, where it is striving to present a united face. Jodhpur is considered to be the stronghold of former chief minister Ashok Gehlot and BJP is trying to capture all 7 seats of this district including the seat from which Ashok Gehlot is contesting.Shah is scheduled to address five back-to-back meetings where he will share with the BJP office bearers and workers how the party plans to pull off a second term in the state. Many factors like anti- incumbency, recent hike in petrol prices, demonetisation and cases of mob lynching might affect the incumbent government.Smaller parties in the state such as JD(S), CPI, CPM, CPI (ML), Samajwadi Party (SP), MCPI(U) and Rashtriya Lok Dal have joined hands to fight the BJP and Congress under the banner of United Democratic Front. These parties may not win many seats but could affect the results on at least 25 seats where they have some influence.Answering this question is really tough and is getting more tougher as elections are approaching. But in Rajasthan, we don’t have much choice. Vasundhara goes out, then Mr becomes the chief minister, Mr Pilot is also an embodiment of Congress style governance where they do almost nothing for the first four years and in the last year they launch plenty of schemes for almost every section of society. Thus causing further deep divisons in society on the lines of reservation and religion. I am from Jodhpur and I personally want BJP to win the game because there standards in forming a government are better than that of INC.While BJP is far away from being perfect, INC is a curse thrown on us due to Gandhi legacy.WILL MODI MAGIC WORK AGAIN?

Back in the early 70’s, the mail carrier not only had the duty of casing, tying out and delivering his mail route but also forwarding mail for customers who had moved, delivering small parcels and picking up mail from the local corner mail box. The carrier maintained a notebook that had the forwarding address of all who moved from his route . He had to write the new address on the letter and send change of address forms to the central office along with the forwarded mail. The carrier was given 8 hours to complete the task. Every so often, the carrier’s route would be tested by route examiners. If the route appeared too short, blocks were added on to the route. If it appeared to be too long, blocks or parts of blocks would be taken away. For the most part, the regular carrier of a route knew how to stretch a route to fill the 8 hours. THEN CAME THE IDEA OF CENTRAL MARK-UP. A group of mail clerks were seated at a table, took all of the notebooks that had the changes of address from the carrier , had the carrier give all mail to be forwarded to the clerks and the clerks did the forwarding of all miss sent mail. Needless to say, since the carrier no longer had that duty, he had extra time on his hands. To fill in that time, more blocks were added to the route and in a post office that I carried from, the routes were decreased from 78 to 65 so 13 routes were absorbed by other routes due to central mark-up. This was ok for the regular carrier of a particular route; it just added a few more blocks to his route and took away some of his b.s.time but for a sub carrier, it was hell. A sub does not know the ins and outs of a regulars route because they change routs day to day. Now where it takes a regular 8 hours to complete his route, it may take a sub-carrier 10 or longer !
