They are not aware and they are not educated on their behaviour patterns so they cannot recognise Red Flags,They exist In much higher numbers than the psychological profession would have you believe. it is a very obvious point but it shouldn’t be overlooked. As often our lack of awareness is the reason why we ended up in our situation and the reason we are all answering questions on Quora today.Illnesses especially auto immune disorders are a consequence of long term interaction with Narcissists e.g. fibromyalgia, Crohns, MS, chronic fatigue etc. Due to your sympathetic nervous system being switched on 24/7.There are many deaths due to relationships with Pathological beings. Suicides are often attributed to mental disorders. They are very good at disguising long term mental abuse as a mental health disorder of their victims. Doctors rarely bother to investigate s suicides background and relationships.They are apex social predators. They evolve into exceptional readers of people. With a tiny piece of information, they gather a huge amount of data. Tell them what you think is a fairly insignificant piece of information e.g. your favourite movie, and they are able to gather huge amounts of information about you.Narcopaths are natural hypnotists. Targets are subconsciously programmed from day 1. You were chosen and groomed. They put a spell on you.They create an addictive bond that is stronger than most drugs. You become addicted to them both physically and mentally, when they leave you, your body and mind go into withdrawal. This sense that you cannot exist without them is extremely difficult to resist. Over time, they have eroded your independence and confidence and now it’s like your sense of self is completely emeshed with theirs. They are your compass. This destruction of your confidence, self esteeem and independence has been carefully implanted through numerous arguments, silent treatments and put downs. (Learned Helplessness). This is emeshment which often mirrors your childhood relationship with your parent(s).They are the most powerful catalyst to personal healing. Melanie Tonia Evans - YouTube talks a lot about this. Most people will never get the deep rooted change that healing from Narcissistic abuse can bring. “In order to get to heaven first, you’re gonna have to walk through hell”.Their behaviour creates a kind of telepathy post relationship. You can sense that they think about you and know you’re struggling. You sense they are wondering when you’re going to contact them. Initially after the final discard, it feels like they have ‘hooks in you’. It’s eery and strange, but you can sense when their claws are finally out of you.You would never have believed this could happen to you. If someone explained the gory details of what you’ve went through during and after the relationship YOU WOULD NEVER HAVE BELEIVED THEM. This is truly an experience that only survivors undetstand.You will never be the same again. NEVER! Most of us probably don’t want to be our former selves - the abused, we’ve changed become wiser, stronger with strong boundaries. We are more happy, confident and assertive than ever. However, you have also lived through your own real life horror movie and this leaves a permanent mental scar! Answer: Narcissists require supply: positive or negative emotions, affection, adulation, affection or resources.In order to get supply they need to be able to read people and read the terrain which is why they build a ‘black book’ of targets and build a database of intel on each and every target:Likes / dislikesWorking pattern / social patternFriends, family / acquaintances / enemiesHabits / interestsInsecurities / anxietiesResources / assetsThings you like to spend money onStrengths / things that give you purposeThey use this intelligence to develop an Indepth understanding of everything you do, how you do it and with whom.They also develop a keen sense of things that trigger a response from you to get supply. This intelligence gathering started from day one….you remember the initial Q&As they asked, the first couple of times they met you.This information makes you predictable, they use it to plot and scheme, they get to know your movements, your habits and idiosyncrasies to plan ahead of time. This is how they manage to gaslight you day by day, triangulate you with their co-workers and friends, how they were able to smear you months and months before the final discard. They were well ahead of the curve and you gave them the ‘key’ the information they needed to plan your destruction.Back to question:Q: What confuses a Narcissist?A: When you are not predictable, when you don’t react, when you are formless, when you have a poker face, when you tear up your old ways and ‘freestyle’ to keep the Narcissist off balance, when you don’t show any physical expression on your face or make any gesture when they try to provoke you or get a reaction. I adopted my old cat from an animal shelter. His former owner had declawed all his four paws and still decided to abandon him at an older age where his chance of getting adopted was close to none. Due to this condition and his age, I would never let my cat go out. I thought he would pass away soon but still wanted to give him a safe home environment until then. Now that I have completely bonded with him I just hope he stays healthy for a few more years. This has been over five years now that he is with me.
