They released this image.And one of Neil’s own family members identified him, leading to his arrest.

I wanted to answer from the perspective of a 14 year old girl who uses Discord. Personally, I'm a very antisocial kid and I don't have any friends at school really, so Discord is where I talk with the only friends I have. Also, I don't know about your daughter, but at my school we were taught very young about being careful online, and it frustrates me to see people saying that your daughter is too young to be aware of the dangers of talking with strangers. I'm very aware of how some people act online, and if she has a phone it's very likely she can see news when bad things happen online. Also, if she's anything like me, cutting off contact with her friends online could be the end of the world. For me, my friends online are my only friends and I trust them a lot, though I'm still very careful to keep my information private online. I don't do bad things either, but I still prefer to keep my conversations private. It's like if she has a friend over and they're talking in her room. Wouldn't they want to be able to talk and gossip in private? Going through her dms would be like eavesdropping on her conversations with physical friends. The only thing I would say you should do is check her photos. Respecting her privacy is important, because otherwise it's very easy to hurt your relationship with her. Sitting her down and having a one on one conversation is important too, and talking to her like an adult, not as a child. Treating her as though she is dumb will only make matters worse. The only things that would be worrying if she's doing are: Sharing her information, sending nudes, or erotic roleplay (sexting). Sharing her information is bad for her safety, and the other two are illegal for both or all parties involved, and make sure she is aware of these facts, although I doubt she is participating in them.I apologize if my answer was a mess, but I had to get my perspective out there. Threatening to cancel her phone or take it away is one thing, but doing it could seriously damage your relationship with your daughter. I don't know what I would do personally if my parents did that (probably cry a lot), but I'm very fortunate that they trust me to stay safe online.
