Hy,First be sure to have physics and Maths as your majors in Higher Secondary educationHave a good percentage of 75% of above in phy, mat and eng individually and in average(there are flying schools who ask for lower criterias but just to have a wide exposure I am advising 75%).Be good in english(No need for a posh accent just have a simple good command in the language)Go for a class 2 medicals. You can find the DGCA class 2 medical examiners near your locality in the link[1] that I have attached here. Again you dont need a tall and musclar structure to pass these. Nevertheless an healthy body…. simple!!Class 2 Medicals will take max of 3 days for completion. It depends on the examiner. Then he’ll issue a C-35 form(temporary class 2 medical certificate).Scan it and apply to any of the flying school or Indigo Cadet program selection prelims with other certicates and application asked in the cadet program partners’ website (there are three training partners for Indigo viz., CAE Gondia, L3 aviation UK(formerly CTC wings) and FTA Adelaide)After that apply for class 1 medicals. You can get info from DGCA website.Study for the exams from your 12th Mat, phy and gen eng. And also some GK on aviation and pilot knowledge would be useful in final interviews with Indigo Selection panel.Selection process for Indigo with three training partners are all the same upto some level. But they have common phases of selectionFirst phase is prelims: phy, mat and eng(except FTA only Mat and english)Second Phase: Pilot Aptitude and Battery tests and Psychometric tests (You can find online practice tools for these tests specifically designed for Indigo cadet programs for some subscription amount or you can enroll in any tutorial centres, who offer training for cadet program selection process in whole)Third phase: GD and Final Interview.My personal opinion for Indigo cadet program would be FTA.There is also Jet Airways Cadet Program. Whose training Partner is CAE only. Note: In either programs CAE has only International pathway. No dometic pathway is available. (Edit: CAE's Indigo Cadet program has resumed its domestic pathway a couple of months back. Apologies for mis guidance! The training for Indigo happens in Tamworth, Australia and for Jet Airways it is Arizona, USA).L3 aviation bases students in New Zealand and FTA in Adelaide, Australia.FTA charges no fees for selection process and CAE and L3 charges around 28k INR or more.After getting successfully selected you ll be inducted by hosting a ceremony and signing a bond with Indigo to work for them up to a period of 5years after training and placement in line.And you’ll have some basic pilot skill tests before going to respective abroad country of training partners’ base for commencing pilot training phase.You’ll also be asked to gain a computer number from DGCA before going abroad, which is an identity number if you want to apply for DGCA pilot license examination. As you’ll come back to India after training you’ll write conversion exams for which as a time saving process computer number will be asked to be gained before embarking abroad for training.In conversion exams You’ll give two papers namely, Composite paper(Air nav and Av met combined) and Air regs.If you want to go for a modular way of training i.e., individual way of training instead of cadet programs, first complete your pilot license theory papers(5 papers viz., Air Nav, Aviation Meteorology, Air Regulations , Technical General and Technical Specific), RTR(Restricted Radio Telephony Operators license, class 2 and class 1 medical license prior to the start of flying lessons. Note: Ensure you can gain medical license first and after think of flying in both cadet pathway and modular pathway.You can give any papers or any number of papers at a time, anytime you want(meant the four sessions) and n-times till you pass those papers. There re four sessions in a year( jan, apr, july and oct sessions).
