I just want a script.She hadn't brought a list of her medications; neither she nor her husband knew the name or address of her clinic; and she said she just sees any doctor in the clinic, so I couldn't google the doctor’s name.She said the clinic was on the corner a large intersection; the pharmacy was near the clinic and she didn't know why I was being so difficult because the doctors in her clinic just opened her file and printed a script.I explained that there are many different types of blood pressure medication and I needed to make sure I gave her the right tablets and the right dose.She thought I was wasting her time and being difficult.Eventually I managed to track down the name of her Pharmacist, and from him I got the name of her clinic and her medication.I wrote a letter “"to whom it may concern” with her medication list and the name of her Pharmacist and clinic and gave it to her. I advised her to take it with her every time she sees a doctor.She thanked me but said that her usual doctors weren't as stupid as me - they just gave her the right script first time.No I don't think she or her husband have dementia.They just think all little white blood pressure tablets are the same, and they attend a great big anonymous superclinic where they see a different doctor every time ..

It is not uncommon for the person sitting at the desk in the doctors office to have more than one role, such as fielding requests for medication refills. This would require them to access your medication list, for example.
