As a background, as a template for the “real” battle between good and evil.But that’s not what the individual rebel knew of. That’s not the war the rebels, nor the stormtroopers fought.The rebels fought a brutal death-match where they actively felt defeat.They fought battles where they felt dread.…I love the nitty gritty of Star Wars Legends. Frankly, I stopped liking the fact that the series insisted on following the space gurus a while ago.The latest trilogy is a hodge podge of seeing which side can out-stupid the other. Dameron is stupid. Holdo is stupid. Hell, even Leia is a bit of an idiot. The nameless rebel soldiers die. Hundreds are lost without so much as a sad recollection.The movie ends with the survivors hugging and smiling. After all, no one important died.Meanwhile, a character of great meme, who became a favorite to the point where The Clone Wars made an entire story arc including him, died unceremoniously from a lucky shot… from a mother-f*cking space guru.I want a war. I want an operation in which men and women fight for their freedom, or for their order. Where soldiers take on the impossible, and without bullshit, without fairy tales, and without space whales,They F*cking win for once!I want a stormtrooper corps that could wipe out the Alderaan royal guard on Tantive IV with minimum casualties. I want farmers’ sons who don’t have magic space cooties to learn to be soldiers, to learn to be masters of their craft.And no, I don’t want a guy with a Doom-esque machine gun pack and a guy with a quarter staff beating up stormtroopers.The Rebellion wasn’t all suicide missions and magic the gathering. I’d like to see a movie or tv show reflecting that.We need grunts. Without grunts, it’s just a pretty, nonsensical light show.

Listen! If you don’t want your infographics to be mediocre you need to get one thing straight first.If you want to learn how to create beautiful infographics, you need to learn how to practice storytelling.That is the essence of all great infographics (or any presentation whatsoever). It’s the information you portray through a story, be it an analysis of a certain market or a certain progression path. The audience should feel that they have it clearer at the end of the infographics and they should think “hmm, I believe this should happen next.” They are inspired to continue the story, maybe even their own separate story if the information displayed was related to another matter.Infographics should encourage people to think laterally instead of vertically. That’s why you have this overview of all these connecting elements.I’ve seen so many bad infographics out there (I’m not going to post them here) with all these fancy arrows, perfectly designed shapes, forms with great colors that just confused my brains out and made me think“Ah well, this was a big pile of… uhm, nothing”And the worst part was that you could see that those artists and designers where seriously talented with a keen eye for details, but the overall infographic was missing that flow that made the whole presentation immersive and clear.Remember, first thing learn how to create a engaging story. One of the many methods out there for you to practice this is watching Simon’s Sinek Golden Circle video. Or you could check Anna Vital’s work to get the idea, she really creates some great infographics.Believe me, you can make the most boring finance data or the most average presentation seem so awesome.Once you mastered this, basically you could use any tool to create great work. MS Paint anyone? But, I will provide you here with some great tips I collected along the way when I was making presentations for corporate groups or event audiences in order to have great visuals that stand out.a) ColorsLearn what a color palette is and how to use it properly.You need to have a limited range of colors that although might seem different, they actually complement one another.Bellow you can see an example of different awesome pallets. *Credits hereColor pallets are created from a combination of HSV (Hue, Saturation and Value).Hue represents the color, the wavelength inside the color spectrum.Saturation represents how alive a certain color feels. Ranging from simple grey to eye popping color.Value represents the light intensity, ranging from completely black to completely white.Any combination of these 3 elements can help you create stunning visuals.Other great examples of color pallets can be found here and here, although my main advice is experiment and get a feel of what works for you.Check out these 3 great tool that can really help you experiment with different sets.PalletonColeureCollorb) FontsYou want to limit yourself to 1–3 font types in a presentation. Even 3 sounds too much but for example you could use one for the tile, one for the storytelling and description of data and one for footnotes etc. Depends on the work, lately I just use the same font everywhere, because I really like it.Here are some of my favorite classic font types.Roboto, Sans Serif, Bebas Neue, Helvetica NeueYou have to find a font that works with the theme.For example, an infographic describing art would be better suited with a font that could be handwritten instead of a font that is more techy (this might go for computer infographics)Great resources for free fonts can be found here:TypeGenius -> shows recommended fonts based on an exampleFontSquirell -> free fontsFontFaceNinja -> a browser extension that shows the name of fonts used on a pagec) GraphicsIf you plan on having drawings in your presentation, make sure you have them as vector drawings. Use Adobe Illustrator or Inkscape for any shapes, faces or environments that you need to draw. You need to match a certain color pallete, with a certain type of font, and a certain type of graphics.Take the following two examples for creating an infographic about plants and tree types:Predominantly red color pallete, Bauhaus font, abstract shapes and geometry, maybe an 8-pixel block theme that displays pixelated plants.Predominantly green and light brown pallete, Sans Serif font (you are always safe with this option), and soft vector graphics of trees maybe with some natural leaf-like spirals that connect everything together.If you chose option number 2, then you understand the idea. Everything needs to come together and this is what will capture and engage your audience.Any of these separate options might be good and innovative, but a great infographic displays all these elements in a harmonious way.These are the main 4 elements that you need to keep an eye on in order to create great visuals in your infographics. Great presentations take some time and planning out and getting to choose the tools that best work for you.If you are looking for online infographic tools I honestly do not recommend them that much, because they are limiting the four elements I defined above. But if you need something quick ’n dirty these are the ones that have helped me the most in the past.Easel.ly, free templates to start you off, which are easily customizable.Piktochart, upload basic shapes and images. It has grid lined templates for easy alignment of the graphical elements.Infogr.am, you can upload data from an excel and it will generate different templates for you.Venngage, simple and easy to use. You can also insert animations.Canva, not that flexible but has a huge library of elements to at least get you inspired.Visme, haven’t really used this one but I keep seeing it pop up everywhere.Remember, the tools in the end are not important.Colors, fonts, graphics, context and harmony all wrapped in a well crafted story is what will transform boring data into beautiful visual content.If you found my answer useful leave a comment with some of your suggestions.I’m an engineer that loves deconstructing how humans perceive and relate to the world. Why, I do believe it’s POWERGAMING TIME!1: The God-Emperor of Mankind as He was during the Great Crusade (Warhammer 40,000) (You play as various people serving Him in many 40k video games, that’s enough for me to count it.)Godlike psychic powers. Superior genetics. Ludicrously massive intellect. Fabulous hair. With Him alone, we’ve got somebody with the power to engineer a cloning program to repopulate mankind, and the help He’ll get will only make things so much better. He also comes with memories of much of the technology humanity had during the Great Crusade and even a lot of memories of the wonders of the Dark Age of Technology. He can also make me into a Living Saint a la Celestine (plus additional upgrades from others on this list, of course) so that I’ll both be around for all of what’s going to go down and actually be useful in the process. Naturally, He’s also my pick for the head of state.2: The Librarian (Halo 4 Forerunner terminal cutscenes)Remember the Emperor-based new humanity? The leader of the Forerunner Lifeworkers and the cool gadgets she’ll come with will make that task an absolute breeze. She’ll also have access to the schematics for most if not all Forerunner tech, even more potent than most of the technological knowledge that the God-Emperor will bring to bear.3: Thanos with the completed Infinity Gauntlet (MCU) (He shows up in Fortnite, that’s enough for it to count as far as I care.)Nigh-unlimited power due to the Gauntlet, which with help from others on this list he’ll be better able to utilize and withstand. He’ll also finally have the opportunity to help build a perfectly-balanced species from the ground up, one whose supply of resources will always well outpace its demand for resources. No omnicidal snaps needed this time. Speaking of which, he can simply snap away our troubles as a last-ditch measure, although this seems to damage the irreplaceable Gauntlet (to say nothing of the fabric of reality itself) so it’s not a preferable option at all.4: Trazyn the Infinite (with access to Solemance and his various forces) (Warhammer 40,000, specifically Battlefleet Gothic Armada 2 in this case)Necron technology (at least at full capacity as it was during the War in Heaven), as well as the various examples of knowledge, gadgets, tech, etc. that Trazyn has collected over the years, is at the very least on par with that of the peak-power Forerunners. With Trazyn, we also have access to a hyper-advanced starfleet (which will only get more advanced as we start grafting in additional upgrades) and a sizeable army to keep our operation well-protected in its vulnerable early phases, as well as a bolt-hole in the form of Solemnance. In addition, Thanos’ Infinity Gauntlet can create perfect replicas of anything Trazyn might fancy featuring in his archives.5: Master Chief (after receiving whatever super-evolution upgrades the Librarian gave him in Halo 4) (Halo series)The Chief’s here to serve as the male half of the initial material for the genetic template upon which our new, superior humanity will be rebuilt.6: Samus Aran (Metroid series)The female half of the aforementioned genetic template starting material.7: Isha (free of Nurgle, of course) (Warhammer 40,000) (Her Eldar children show up plenty of times, ergo she is or at least was around too - good enough for me.)The effectively-abandoned (in canon, at least - she’ll have a new home with us) Eldar goddess of life and fertility will be able to craft a beautiful new ecosystem for her new kids, and will make said kids much healthier as well. Also spirit stones to trap the souls of the dying. Thereafter, those souls can possibly be reincarnated given Isha’s powers, or at least used in an Infinity Circuit of some kind.8: Kratos (God of War)You thought he was scary before? Now he’s got access to all the tech and upgrades available from the dream team I’ve assembled here. We’ll need someone to lead our armies on the frontline once we get to expanding our domain, and he’s my chosen field marshal.9: Batman (Batman/DC/Justice League/etc.)With Batman involved, any would-be-unassailable difficulties can simply be handwaved away by his sheer amount of plot armor.10: Dog (Fable 2)He’s a good boy. Even Trazyn will be fine - in case you didn’t see where I edited this into the answer earlier, Trazyn can just point out things he wants in his collection to Thanos and have a perfect, completely faithful copy of it ready for his archives moments later.3: For those wondering why I don’t summon a harem or at least a lover, it just doesn’t sit well with me on a fundamental level. Potential moral concerns aside, I’ve never been able to escape the fact that on some intrinsic level I’m hardwired as a hopeless romantic. Time and experience have done much to remove this trait from me but it still remains an albeit diminished part of my personality. As such, if I summoned someone in as a designated spouse, not only would I feel like a heel but I’d constantly be wondering if she genuinely loved me. This would eat me away from the inside in very short order. Besides, I don’t need that in this scenario! I’m going to be a supernaturally beautiful and immortal/reincarnating/perpetual winged cybernetic wizard angel with a very important and prestigious position in society. The women, given that they’re based off of Samus Aran and only improved and diversified from there, will be drop-dead gorgeous. Furthermore, with everything advancing so far so fast, they’ll live a wide variety of fascinating lives and have fascinating personalities to go with them. As such, I’ll just put myself out on the market as it were once I feel ready, fall in love naturally with one of these women, and settle down with her. I’ve got an eternity to wait if I so choose and another eternity to spend with my future beloved once I find her, I’ll be just fine.4: Some Quorans are concerned about inbreeding considering that I’m rebuilding humanity off the genetic material of just two people. Fear not! I’ve got multiple genetic wizards (literally in some cases) on this list to both diversify the new human genome and head off any genetic deformities caused by inbreeding before they can take hold.5: Fable 2’s dog will also be getting Imperial Sainthood to stay by my side forever - he can be brought back from the dead, surely his soul is strong enough. Many more Saint Dogs will be given out to the population ASAP to increase morale. I’ll also turn him into a golden retriever because I love those dogs most of all (remember you can change his breed, golden retriever isn’t in the canonical list but surely it can be arranged). I think I’ll name him Shadow after the golden retriever from Homeward Bound.
