Should Joe Biden volunteer to have his cognitive skills evaluated by a professional skilled in dealing with the elderly before the DNC convention to give the party and voters time to assess the situation?I would like to know where is Biden's Doctor. Obama Doctor came out and said Joe has dementia. You know who else needs to be evaluated. Whitless governor of Michigan. She said Biden has been counseling her on how to handle the covid in her state. She praised him. She said she has a “good relationship” with Biden. She said she talks to him often about how to communicate with people about the pandemic. This is frightening. Boy she sure wants the Veep position. Kiss my arse.💋

Having professional level understanding of human behavior. Empathy, good listening & observing skills, ability to get client to open up, form alliance with counselor against their problem (addiction, grief, ASPD, etc.). Understanding different types of interviews - evaluation vs. support, etc. Ability to get beyond defense mechanisms, adhere to treatment plans, agency goals, professional standards. Openness to clinical supervision, work with team, keep up with paperwork. Grief counselors, drug counselors, those working with sex offenders, wife beaters, children, etc. have different skill sets. Group, individual, family settings require different skills.

ADHD is usually diagnosed after much observation by parents and/or the school. It is a long process on the school’s part. It starts off with the teacher(s) sharing their concerns with the Student Study Team (SST), and scheduling one or more meetings with school staff and eventually the parent when necessary. The immediate goal is to come up with strategies to try in the classroom, and then determine their effectiveness. If these strategies are working, then, except for monitoring, the SST has done its job. However, if the strategies in place are not effective, the team will schedule what in my state is called the PPT (Planning and Placement Team) meeting. At this meeting, the team will determine whether the school needs to complete a psychological evaluation which might include an intellectual evaluation, a social/emotional evaluation and observations and auditory/visual/motor processing skills evaluation to rule out learning disabilities. The Special Ed. teacher will complete individual education achievement assessments and also processing skills evaluation. When all the results are in, the team reconvenes and reports on all the results of the testing and observations, and the parents can choose to take all the results to the child’s physician. The physician usually gives the parents checklists for the student’s teachers and perhaps the social worker and/or psychologist to complete. When the physician gets all the observations and checklists returned, he/she can diagnose (or not) ADHD. One thing that cannot happen in many school systems: SST and PPT teams cannot even discuss ADHD or medication. But the PPT will remeet and may determine whether the child’s needs can be met with a 504 Accommodation Plan, or if severe the PPT can determine whether the child qualifies for Special Education services under the label of Other Health Impaired and determine what services he will receive in the school (Special Ed. services, counseling by the school social worker/psychologist.The parents can decide to just take their child to the physician without the SST process, but the doctor will more than likely follow the procedures above to determine whether to diagnose that child with ADHD.
