Orthopedic Doctor Prescription Format: Fill & Download for Free

Voltaren, a topical pain ointment which is an NSAID (equal to motrin), costs $65 for a prescription at the pharmacy, after paying to see my orthopedic doctor ($40). It is $7 over the counter in canada.Update: as of 2020, Voltaren is over the counter in the US. It costs about $12 a tube.

Dear sir,My Left FEMUR lower side got multifractured in a critical way on 7th Dec2017 while I was in Laos(abroad). I am now 60 years old(Male)Was operated within 4 days there in govt hospital there. A 9″ long plate with 9 screws fixed the pieces somehow 3″ above the knee.But it got loosened within 3 days and my Femur was operated again 10 days after the first operation . This time A 12″long plate along with 14 screws upto the knee including 3 long screws at knee.For 3 months I was not allowed to walk with Cratch. I was allowed to put partial pressure on that leg after six months. There were many gaps which are taking too much time to get filled up. Two of the major gaps got filled up but still I am feeling pain in those joints.I am succumbed to two types of pains, one at knee and another at middle of the FEMUR where one of the major gaps (which seems to be filled up 90%. The knee pain has again two types . One is bone related, about which I feel due to long screw getting friction with my bone. Another is tissue or muscle related, feeling when I try to start folding my leg from straight condition or if I try to start straightened the leg from fold condition.I want to consult a good experienced ortho surgeon who will be able to tell me for what reasons I am not getting cured. There are a few schools of thought in Pennsylvania. First one, you have a doctor who trusts you. You will get the prescription. Now he might dole them out like they were made of gold, so be prepared for that.Second one, just plain NO! They will recommend aspirin, Ibuprofen, Tylenol, Naproxen. (Wow, thanks Doc! I never knew about those!) He might even set you up with a “chronic pain doctor” even though it is not chronic pain. Boy do I know about palming someone off, right out of his door so you are no longer his problem. Oh, by the way, pain management doctors have a ridiculously long waiting list.Third, he might recommend you go to an orthopedic doctor. And they will probably prescribe rest, ice, heat first while they schedule you for more testing.Fourth, doctor might tell you, “Well of course it hurts! You fell down and hurt yourself!”Fifth option is to try CBD or medical marijuana. Another case of hurry up and wait.Sixth, he might give you an antidepressant, which will take at least a month to take effect, even though the problem is not depression.Welcome to the opioid crisis! You missed out on the most interesting times, when real chronic pain patients were cut off. Cold turkey. Just cut off.
