And for the additional offences of sacrificing for those who were unworthy of participating, for accepting gifts from unworthy donors, eating forbidden items, for enjoying forbidden pleasures, drinking forbidden drinks, for the absolution of all these sins, in the presence of all the 33 devas, in the company of Brahmins and Scholars we shall now perform this Upakarma rite consisting of sanctification, and offering of libations to the Rishis and the changing of the sacred thread.
