After 2 weeks, read again, share with friends. Edit and Revise.6) Letter Of RecommendationUS Universities give high importance to recommendations from faculty who has previously taught/worked with you. Most universities ask for 3 recommendations.Make sure to give your recommender enough time. Choose someone who knows you well and is ready to give you a strong letter. If you get more than 1 offer, decide the college and accept the offer before the deadline (April 15).2) Get i20 from the Universityi20 is the form given by Universities that shows their intend to take you.To get i20, you need to show the university your proof of your funding. This can be a bank statement/ loan letter etc.3) Complete DS160After you get i20, complete DS 160 form from US Department of state website. The DS160 confirmation number is necessary to schedule visa interview.4) Pay SEVIS FeeThis needs to be paid at least 2 days before your visa interview.5) Schedule Visa appointmentIt is better to book your appointment at the earliest to get your desired date and place as May, June is peak months for student visa appointments.Make sure to bring all required documents as mentioned in website, stay calm and confident during the interview.All the best and wish you success in your application!

OK, the reason I want to answer this Q is because I was in your position few months ago, I did not even know what a WES was or i20 or DS-160 was!*A lengthy read, so don't tell me I did't warn you! lol!First off, You need to know why you are doing this! There is no right or wrong, just have one and stick to it!First steps: You need to take 2 exams one exam to prove your english proficiency, either IELTS or TOEFL and another one, GRE for proving your Quantitative and Vocabulary in English. So If you are planning for an admission for the Semister starting Jan of 2016, you need to Hurry up! You should be booking your date right this very minute.All the shitty procedure involved in Applying for Universities:Step One: Getting the necessary Documents:1-> 3 letter of Recommendations aka LORs from a HOD/Director of your dept/college and 2 other faculty. For format you can google and find it easily or you can message me, I'll provide you mine you can use as a model.2-> A Bank statement and an Affidavit of Support (on a 20rs Bond paper.) The former showing that your dad/mom or your sponsor has so and so amount in their savings and the latter a declaration that he/she is supporting you and assumes full financial responsibility for your education abroad.3-> Get all semister wise transcripts and a Consolidated Marks Memo/Provisional Certificate.4-> Prepare a RESUME/CV5-> Prepare an SOP Statement of Purpose, it must convey to the admission councellers why you are pursuing MS, whats your main reason, what you want to achieve, what you are expecting from the masters program.6-> Get a xerox of your Xth standard and XII standaard and get them attested by your College principal or school principal or any gazetted officer.These are all the documents you need to get.Applying online:Based on your Profile, (profile= Your Graduation %, Stream, Your Test scores, your Experience(if any)) you must identify 3-5 universities which are likely to accept your application.After having a list, you need to pay an online application fee which range from 75$-100$ depending on the University/College you apply. After applying online, courier all the above mentioned documents to the address mentioned in the university website. Donot forget to include a colour xerox of your passport in the documents along with a photo signed in the back.So apply online, and ship the documents.Now, wait until you recieve your Admin aka i20! Getting an admit means that College/Univ is ready to accept you as a student and that you have secured a seat, The only thing is getting a VISA and going to US.After getting i20, you fill a DS-160 form before booking a VISA slot. Then schedule a VISA slot and so on....*WES evaluation: its a evaluation required by very few colleges/univs which will convert your % score into american grading system. Just costs around 300$ extra and u need to ship a set of all your graduation documents to the WES address.* All students are required to pay for SEVIS.
