Apart from poly, bopp and cpp are also used in this industry. In some cases packaging manufacturers also use aluminium. As a cheap option, the polyester is metalized using a chemical to form a chemical coated high barrier metalized polyester film.All layers (as per the requirements of product) are then joined together using an industrial adhesive.So when you see a packaged food bag/pouch...the outermost layer which you see is printed polyester that generally has design and info about the product. The inside of the pouch shows you the innermost layer of silver color but it is not actually the silver one. The outermost layer on the inner side is of polyethylene which helps in pouching or sealing of the plastic lamination.
