If you’re into flavor and value, for you. Sushi isn’t local? This one is.Fish and the Pig, Waimea. Local beef, local bacon, Local fish. Do not leave without trying the banana creme pie.Earl’s Bento, Waimea. Spam musubi and Korean chicken musubi. You will not find better food wrapped in cellophane. Come early, it sells out.Da Poke Shack, Kona. The best poke I’ve eaten is made by A. Tamasese, but he only works for friends. 2nd best is Da Poke Shack.Lau Lau’s from back of truck near Costco entrance, Kona. Seriously. No name, no restaurant, no food health permit, no problem. If you see, buy more than you think you’ll eat.Honorable mention:Original Thai, Kona. Authentic and amazing.Sam Choys, Kona. Delicious.Kona Brew Pub, Kona. Pizza. Beer.Merriman’s, Waimea. To answer the question directly - I dispute the assumption that people's liking for this type of song is recent - I know personally it goes back at least 60 years, and I strongly suspect that novelty songs have been very popular since music began.With regard to the role social networking plays, well, it is really just re-imagined radio and TV, which were just re-imagined public performance. German youth, by and large, are taught great respect for the alcoholic beverages that are woven into their culture.That said, I warn everyone that U.S. Federal Laws are so byzantine and regulatory in nature that a motivated prosecutor could find some criminal charges in just about any kind of conduct.A wise adult who is charged with accompanying said 16 year old American will make sure that they have the informed consent of parents before they allow the drinking to take place. Absent parents could be upset by this kind of conduct if they expect their 16-year old to be prevented from drinking alcohol while in the UK.I also wouldn’t allow it if I was a teacher or someone in loco parentis as far as U.S. Law goes—meaning, if the U.S. law could reach out and make me responsible for the kids in any group I was leading, I would be more careful. In loco parentis - WikipediaFrankly, I’d be more worried about some kid cracking a “bomb” joke in the airport or making fun of the security process somehow.Americans really need to chill out and respect the laws and cultures of other countries. Young people in these countries are often more carefully prepared to engage with alcohol in a way that most U.S. teenagers are not—they have somewhat more respect for the dangers of alcohol.
