Hotel Renovation: Fill & Download for Free

I am in China now writing this. I travel to China two to three times a month. I feel safe and comfortable. Quality of hotels here are the same or better than those in other countries as most of the hotels here are relatively new. The first time I came to China was more than 45 years ago when I was a kid. It was bad at that time, people were really poor and lack of everything, no food no clothings, no nothing. As a tourist I came to China about 33 years ago, I was mainly in Shanghai Beijing area and I took the train to Moscow. It was an enjoyable trip. I had some good food on the trip but everything was pretty basic at the time. One year later I came back to Shanghai for a business trip, I was supposed to work as a designer for some hotel renovations at the time but I did not take the job eventually. I learned of the corruption and bureaucracy in China. And then 30 years ago I had the chance to look at China from the air, just passed the border from Hong Kong into China at night, it was like going from light into darkness. Shenzhen was totally dark when compared to Hong Kong at night time in those days. Now Shenzhen is brighter than Hong Kong.If you say China was bad years ago, it is the honest truth. But today if you say China is bad, I cannot agree. The way the country is running is probably better than most countries in the world nowadays. Living standard of people in China has improved 100 times or thousand times for some people. People are generally happy in China as the basic needs are fulfilled. The only thing people criticise China is probably lack of democracy. China obviously has certain degree of democracy within groups, just not the universal suffrage type of democracy. I personally do not think universal suffrage type of democracy works for a huge country as the general public simply cannot get all the information of candidates to make reasonable selection of their leaders. And this kind of election for leaders every few years is wasting lots of resources for the country.So I do not agree about the first part of the question that China is bad, for the second part I do not have information to prove do I cannot give an answer.

Update: This is an older question, so an update may be in order. The Old Post Office Building is currently being renovated by Trump into a luxury hotel. Therefore, all of the old offices are gone. The hotel is scheduled to open in 2016. The tower, which has been managed by the National Park Service, will again be open to the public after the hotel renovation is completed.

I don’t agree that this is the first time that Trump has been cornered nor that he’s escaped these problems of his own making without it costing him.After years of business failures Trump found himself with negative net worth and western banks refusing to finance him anymore. It came very close to a fire sale at Trump Organization in 1992. It was his lawyers, loans from his siblings and a deal with the banks which seized parts of Trump’s empire, including the Trump Shuttle, the Regency Hotel in Atlantic City, and his 28% share in the Alexander’s department stores that kept the lights on. Nevertheless, there was the famous quip captured by a Fortune reporter when Trump pointed at a beggar outside Trump Tower and said, “That bum isn’t worth a dime, but at least he’s at zero. That puts him $900 million ahead of me.”I think Trump has been fighting from the corner from the beginning of his professional life starting with his father having to vouch for and underwrite his cost overruns in the Commodore Hotel renovation and his rejection at developing the former Penn Central railroad yard into the current Javits Convention Center.Even after his run of bankruptcies and his casino disasters he went on to accumulate even more failure, like his Television City/Riverside South disaster when his Chinese partners essentially cut him out of the deal completely, leaving him only with licensing rights to his name on the development. And of course Trump Soho, which was the clearest indication yet that Trump’s fortunes had sunk so low that he was in bed with hardcore Russian mobsters like Tevfik Arif and Felix Sater in Bayrock, Trump’s 50/50 partners in the hotel.Since then, Trump has been unable to attract either legitimate financing or partners to build new properties in the west. He was reduced to living off his name and licensing deals that were mostly in places like Panama and Azerbaizan, where dark money financing is the rule rather than the exception.Unlike Nixon, when we actually had a bipartisan government with some semblance of a backbone, ethics and principles, the Republican party has Trump’s back. I think Trump feels the heat but doesn’t necessarily feel cornered because Republicans have ensured that there is no corner. I think he knows that if it gets too tough he can just negotiate a resignation with the senate, his veep and his own DOJ that will let him go back to private life largely unscathed. Trump has been negotiating hold-harmless deals for himself since the 1970s, when he lost two federal Fair Housing Act judgments for racist housing practices.The wild card though is that a lot of states want a piece of him and his family too.
