I'm a libertarian, not a liberal, but since I dislike Mr. Shapiro I feel it's fair for me to answer. Ben Shapiro is smart enough to fool himself and almost everyone else.He has a strong memory of many facts and a great ability to construct logically consistent arguments on the fly. Unlike the vast majority of pundits he recognizes the arguments of the other side. I would guess he's smarter than perhaps 99.9% or possibly 99.99% of people, and very well educated too. And he is an extremely practiced and skilled debater.However, he holds too strongly to his prior beliefs and does not effectively incorporate new evidence. For example, in one video I watched, he cited an earlier edition of the DSM (the official manual of psychiatric diagnoses) as considering gender dysphoria to be a mental illness, then noted derisively that the latest version changed that position. He did not mention that this change was broadly supported within the psychiatric community.Clearly he has not allowed this evidence to influence his perspective on a subject in which he's not an expert. In my experience, believing one's own assessment over the consensus of experts in the field is the hallmark of a very smart person who is fooling themselves - Dunning-Kruger effect in action.He's also smart enough to fool everyone else. He's smarter than basically everyone he gets on stage with, let alone the members of the audience. He also specializes in a format, debate, that most of his audience isn't very familiar with, and at which he's usually more experienced than his opponent. They aren't able to catch or counter some of the tricks he uses to gain an advantage using the format. That's not his fault, but it does mean that he gets more credit for his ideas than he deserves.

Well here in the UK it is perfectly legal with advice on good practise in the Highway Code, the official manual on road use for everyone.Basically do not go fast and watch carefully for anyone doing something stupid. If stuck in the traffic then you are expected to check before openeing a door and getting out. That bike might well be a medic on their way to an accident or the police coming to sort the mess out.It amazes me that this is not allowed in the USA, land of the free etc etc.

I don't know about them, but usually when you don't know something you learn it, and web development is a pretty easy subject to learn considering that you have all of the information you need available online for free.You never used AWS? That's okay, they have a manual. MySQL? Look at the official manual. Frameworks? Each one has a manual at their site.New developers tend to think that making these choices is crucial to the success of the project, but it usually isn't. When just starting a project it's best to choose technologies that help you achieve your goals and are easy for you to use, so you could move as quickly as possible.Only after you have a product and its demands are growing do you start taking into consideration certain optimizations, such as replacing the database, improving configurations etc, and by that time you've probably hired some people who should have more experience with these things than you.You don't start building a billion dollar product from day one, you start from the basics and you get there slowly, in time.
