What are the best menstruation tracking apps?

I have been using this app named flo from about 2 years ..and its great..U furst need to log your basic details and cycle length approximately.... it gives u an approximate ovulation time..And u can log any premenstrual symptoms in the app..Like fever, acne bursts, cramps..It includes a special column about amount and consistency of menstrual blood during menstruationAnd u have an extra column to add about any pills u have been taking all alongAnd a column for ocp's..It includes a column about how your mood is…I was just wondering one day .. y am i feeling this low…And when i checked my dates.. its gonna be menstrual time…So this helps you alot to keep track all your mental disturbances too..The app includes a column about physical activity so u can keep it tracked..And it has great articles and keeps updating everyday..Overall..I would give it a 10/10Check out "Period Tracker Flo, Pregnancy & Ovulation Calendar"Period Tracker Flo, Pregnancy & Ovulation Calendar - Apps on Google Play

Can you combine hormonal birth control and the Fertility Awareness Method?

I think it would be highly unusual to find useful data from the Fertility Awareness Method while on (or sorta on) hormonal contraception. The Calendar/Standard Days method (which assumes that ovulation happens 2 weeks-ish prior to menstruation is out of the question because your bleed on the pill—if you choose to have one—is withdrawal bleeding and not an actual period. That leaves cervical mucus and temperature methods. Cervical mucus might work better than placebo, if you abstained from sex every time your mucus looked “different”, but a correctly applied cervical mucus method is at least somewhat calendar oriented, and you would lose all of that calendar-focused evidence on the pill.Temperature method assumes a chart-able drop in temperature on fertile days. The problem with the temperature method is, in the words of Planned Parenthood:The temperature method is quite good at telling when ovulation has happened. But it can't predict when it will happen. So, you have to make sure that sperm is not waiting in your body when it does happen.Fertility Awareness-Based Methods | (FAMs) Natural Birth ControlDoes that mean that temperature and/or cervical mucus tracking is useless (not statistically significant)? Probably not. You’d likely see at least some benefit over placebo. That being said, it’s a huge amount of effort for something other than a sure shot, and that effort spent tracking and charting things could be better spent remembering really, reaaaally hard to take your pill every day. Which is literally the only way an OCP is likely to fail—operator error. Thanks for the A2A, Claire J. Vannette.

Does the US Army still wear ACUs as part of their winter uniform?

Army Combat Uniform (ACU) is still indeed the primary day to day uniform of the US Army regardless of winter or summer. There is no “winter uniform”.If anything the regular ACU is the “winter uniform” as they just introduced a new “Improved Hot Weather Combat Uniform” variation of the ACU.Plus the Army Combat Shirt that’s been around for a few years now to wear in lieu of the t-shirt and ACU blouse (almost always in field conditions under body armor and other gear though).Regular Army Combat Uniform (ACU):Army Combat Shirt (ACS):And the new Improved Hot Weather Combat Uniform:It still looks like a regular ACU. Though I can tell the lack of the normal chest pockets it’s not right off the bat. Otherwise it’s apparently a lighter more breathable fabric. Similar to back during the 80s and 90s in the old BDU days there was a lighter weight “Summer” version to the normal version. The first ACUs ditched those differences for one single uniform to be worn everywhere. (fortunately they ditched that original “Universal” cammo pattern (universally useless IMO) for the current OCP patterns). For now it appears the new summer weight uniform is an optional purchase item that units may allow (or not) their Soldiers to wear it, so we’ll see how widespread it gets. But beyond specific gear for Cold and Wet Weather there isn’t a special “Winter Uniform” version. Just normal ACUs. Plus appropriate Cold Weather gear worn on top as dictated by the specific weather conditions than the calendar.ECWCS (Extended Cold Weather Clothing System):The first layers are basically long underwear, then there’s the fleece jacket (I forget the official regulations of if its supposed to be worn over or under ACUs, I think over? But I spent some time in some units that decided you should wear it under your regular ACU coat…) I hardly ever wore the wind jacket, and Level V and VI was basically your rain gear. Level VIII is Arctic Parka and Pants… unless you’re in a static defensive position in deep snow, you’re gonna overheat wearing those things. But in all cases, they’re weather dependent addons to your regular ACUs, not a “Winter Uniform” replacement.
