PDF Editor FAQ

What do you think of this article stating over 93% of BLM protests were peaceful?

I think it’s utter bullshit. The problem—which they don’t make it particularly easy to find, because there’s no reference to methodology in the summary report itself—is this:How does ACLED define and code demonstrations?ACLED codes all physical congregations of three or more people (single-person demonstrations are not coded) as a demonstration when they are directed against a political entity, government institution, policy, group or individual, tradition or event, businesses, or other private institutions.—https://acleddata.com/acleddatanew/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/US-Crisis-Monitor_FAQs_August.pdfSo, three people standing on a street corner with a sign counts as a “demonstration”.And the easiest way to drive down any percentage is to drive up the total sample size with items that aren’t within the target category. For instance, let’s say I really want to demonstrate that senior citizens get shafted in the labor market (maybe they do, maybe they don’t—I haven’t actually done this research). But, upon researching, I find (hypothetically) that most seniors get paid a wage/salary that is fairly commensurate with their position, skills, and experience. What to do, what to do?Do I admit that the average senior citizen isn’t getting screwed in the market?Or do I rebase my statistics to include retirees in my average? It’s easy to show that senior citizens are being paid much less on average if the average includes large numbers of those who aren’t being paid. Now, three or four people standing on a corner very clearly is not what anyone is thinking of when they think of “a BLM protest”. It is also very unlikely to result in violence.I’d love to get the raw data that ACLED used and see how the numbers shake out if we put the cutoff at, say, 25+ people, or 50+ people.I’m not saying that I’m certain it would show that a majority are violent (though I’m virtually certain the percentage would be higher than 7% by a large margin). But it would at least be a meaningful result—as opposed to this, which tells us nothing of value but pretends to validate the position of one side of the debate.I don’t call this study bullshit because it disagrees with “my side” of politics—I don’t care about that. I’m calling it bullshit because it’s a bad study—or at least, shamefully distorted presentation of the study’s findings.Seriously though, if someone can find the raw data (and it includes rough counts of participants at each demonstration), I’d love to dig into it—I’m sure there’s something useful there.Original Question:“What do you think of this article stating over 93% of BLM protests were peaceful?“

What do you think of the BLM statue being put up? It was done without official permission, and now replaced the Colston they took down. Should it be taken down, too?

Alot has happened in the past to get where we are. Britain and the UK as a whole has a very long and very storied history that in many ways makes us who we are.Britain is one of the least racist and most tolerant countries on the planet. After the second world war we invited thousands of Black people to come live here and rebuilt the country. Millions of people in this country, no less British than I am are Black because of that piece of history. We have very deep, rich and strong links with the African sub-continent. In the 19th century we banned slavery and played a huge part in obstructing other imperial powers practices in the transportation of human beings.David Livingstone traversed the sub-continent bringing commerce and economic rationale to civilisations who for millennia had sourced wealth from selling human beings.Of course before these things less rosy pictures of history exist. David Livingstone was a tool of empire and in many respects simply filled the map in so we had more places to invade. We were very active in the trans-atlantic trade, trading bronze for flesh and flesh for weapons. Britain mistreated its windrush generation for some years and communities were not always accepting. Only recently a pretty unpleasant incident occurred when they were falsely designated illegals. Which the whole country condemned. We have just offered oppressed Hong Kong citizens an escape route to our Island. Why we did that can be studied in our past actions and behaviour. Opium wars, boxer rebellions and tea bags present an unpleasant business taking place. My point is that history is who we are. How we became what we are. It does not require the consent of deeply ill-informed angry bampots to exist. If we did not practice slavery then we could not have abolished it. Millions of black people working in prestige positions descended from slaves would not be there. History has created them. To tear down history because its uncomfortable to listen to and replace it with a different history that people like is no different than destroying who we are. Slavery happened, people did it. People who were not evil or wicked but merely men of their time. Those men’s children and their children became us today.History is to be sampled with balance and account given to context and facts. BLM is not apart of Britains history. Whether they like it or not there is no need for them to have any place in British culture. It is a deeply unpleasant, extremist neo-marxian movement which demands submission to their altruism. That is dangerous and certainly not in need of iconography.

Why is the California virus trending?

I can spell it out in three letters. BLM. You cannot march about throwing riots and expect not to get sick. These people are at war against the USA that is obvious. In a war the germs always win every battle. Throwing a war in the middle of an epidemic is the height of insanity. It is asking for disaster. This is the unsung history of the 1918 flu epidemic. There was a war going on.But there is another reason. It is the standard belief that COVID-19 is airborne. This is related to the mask issue and Antifa and BLM because these people use masks to hide their identity so as to avoid arrest for their criminal acts. In realty no data exists for the airborne infections. COVID-19 is only fecal/oral in transmission. This means no masks and no secret asymptomatic carriers. It also means riots are profoundly good at infecting people. ‘Earlier signs of coronavirus’ in sewage samples in BrazilNow the issue is very simple:In Hong Kong the they did a study of RT-PCR tests and found the data in over 10,000 known positive persons. In Nasal swab testing they found viral titers were so low that that only 60% of swabs which can respond to a single virus went positive. This means the respiratory tract had almost no virus at all.In blood samples they found 80% which is quite low.In Stool sample the found 100% positives. It was saturated with virus. This means the route of infection is fecal/oral.As long as our epidemic controls focus on useless actions and gestures and virtue signalling no value will come from efforts against the disease.Spare me any comments supposing to defend the mythology around COVID-19. There are no facts behind the claims of airborne transmission. There are no facts supporting the use of masks. I am not being mean here. I am just telling the facts. I am trying to save lives.
