What surprised you the most after moving in with someone?

Not just after moving in…we had lived together for 6 years. Married for 4. But this thing that surprised me turned out to be the undoing of our relationship as well as the undoing of my sanity. I'm still picking up the pieces 6 years later.I should have seen it coming when, on our wedding night, she said “we're married now, we're not supposed to have sex as often”…I hoped it was a joke, so I took it that way.Little did I know….So four years later, we have a son and another on the way. I wait on her hand and foot and do everything willingly at her beck and call. She is always snappy about something, nothing is ever right. Now I figure out she was doing this to keep my self-esteem low. By this point, she has started fights with everyone in my family, distancing me from them. She has long since ran off any friends I had from teenage years and early 20s, calling them “no good" and “bad for you". I am completely isolated from any friendly energy that she doesn't provide. And she only provides it when I am visibly and undeniably doing something for her.At some point during this time, the sex conversation comes up again. Her response: “Oh, you're mine now, I don't have to do that anymore…”All the while she knew from the start, I don't believe in divorce. She tells me, “I would probably want it more often if you never mentioned it…”So I stop. I stopped expecting any sort of physical affection after about 6 months later. Our relationship was like indentured servitude…I had to do what she wanted at all times or I was a piece of shit failure of a human who didn't deserve to live, much less be with someone as fantastic as her who could have men lined up around the block wanting to be in my position…I was in school for software engineering (no easy courses, even freshman level. I am great at math and physics, and a solid programmer, but the coursework amounted to a full-time job worth of outside work, plus I had to keep a full time job to keep us afloat). We had a trailer my family had bought for me to stay in while in college, but it was in bad shape. Rent was $200 per month for the lot.She says: “either we are moving out and into a nicer place or I am taking the kids and leaving…”The cheapest rent in auburn for a 2-bedroom place (she wouldn't move into another trailer) was $850. Thus resulting in a need for two jobs, since she couldn't be bothered to work.So that's what I did. I wanted my kids to grow up in a normal home so I did everything I could to keep her appeased so she didn't act like the world was crashing down on us.It was around this time I first read about narcissism. It described her up and down, top to bottom, eerily exacting in every description. She frequently would use her friends or her mother to triangulate me and validate her abuse. But now the world was crashing down on me. I had about 9 classes left before I got my BS in software engineering with a minor in mathematics (had already finished the math minor), and I ran into a class that had major outside projects due every week. The subject was C++ programming, which is easy enough, but it also required the use of Linux systems thru a VM, required detailed and explicit documentation and testing of EVERY SINGLE LINE of code, as well has having quite difficult objectives from the start, with no direction of how to accomplish the task. This means I would spend many hours with paper, building flowcharts, and lots of time staring at a computer screen and thinking. To her, this looked like I wasn't all that busy. She would often interrupt my thought process to ask me to do something, be it major or trivial. I would say I'm busy, but she would retort, “you can come right back to it…” any programmer will tell you, even someone talking to you while you're in the middle of mentally simulating a program can sometimes set you back 30 minutes of thought. If you get up and walk away from the code, it takes another 30 minutes to find the piece of the program you were getting hung up on and then 10 more to figure out where to start back up again. So I fell behind. Being behind in the one course led to me focusing more on that course to no avail, and eventually falling behind in the others. I only passed one class that semester, when up until that point I had maintained a 3.4 GPA. My financial aid eligibility was now gone. I would have to pay back the university for the 3 classes I failed (around $7,000) before I could enroll in another class. I was having to borrow money from family that I would never be able to pay back until graduation (hah!) EVERY SINGLE MONTH even working two jobs just to keep us in our house. So then I got a third job, hoping maybe I could eventually pay the school back and get finished.About this time, Uber came to Auburn. I started driving for them. I kept the app on 24 hours a day, 7 days a week where it let me. (It made you sign off after 12 hours online, but I figured out if I sign off and back on every couple hours or so, it would never make me sign off). I was nearly making enough to save a little bit here and there. Then she decided she needed a new car. She justified it because since I drive for Uber, we could write off 75% of the payments every year on taxes, which I saw as a good point. She wanted a third row, which would make me eligible for UberXL and potentially more money. She somehow convinced me of this… by threatening to take the kids and leave. I told her in a few choice words that this was abuse and she was being a selfish brat.. So she got up and punched me in the face, and yelled “I fucking dare you to hit me back and go to fucking jail" and then she decided she was leaving. I caught her right at the door, tried to hug her, crying. She shoved me, and not wanting to let go I wound up on the floor holding her left leg. She kicked my face with her right foot like she was kicking a field goal. I thought I was going to die there on that floor. I could only see white, and couldn't feel anything from the rest of my body.30 minutes later, she comes back and acts like nothing happened. Three days later I got a half-ass apology. We bought a new Ford explorer, and started tracking the expenses to claim on taxes. Then one day, I got hit by a drunk driver. Totaled the new explorer exactly 6 months after signing the papers. I had to call her to come get me. When she finds out what happened, it was immediately my fault. I got punched in the face four times that night before I pushed her off of me and called the cop who was working my accident to try to have him explain to her what happened and that it wasn't my fault. She told him that if I called him again, he better hurry and come to our house because she was going to kill me. She was not arrested and nothing happened to her. I stayed for the kids.Uber said that since the accident wasn't my fault, there was nothing to worry about and I wouldn't be terminated (deactivated, in uber terminology)…will come back to this.Insurance paid for the Explorer. We were back where we started. Now she wants to go buy another one. This one will have a lower price tag, she says, since they're older now…by 6 months. But my credit is lower than before, so the payments are higher. She promises me in the dealership that she will get a job. Two weeks later, she got a job. Awesome. For two weeks. Then she got fired over an altercation with her manager. This is a woman who was banned from 3 different restaurants in the area for showing her ass. In one she even flipped a tea machine over the counter and onto an employee. I WON'T GO ANYWHERE WITH THIS CRAZY BITCH because she is highly likely to embarrass me with her actions. She doesn't get another job…Then one day, about 6 months after the accident, uber decides that since I have a recent accident on my background check, I'm not allowed to work for them anymore. I dropped off a passenger and a notification came up on the app that “You need to activate your driver account before you can go online.” All of my driver information was gone. They acted like I was never approved to be a driver in the first place. I went to Atlanta, the nearest uber hub, to plead my case. They couldn't find me in the system, so they wouldn't even talk to me.So now I have to find 3 new jobs to make up for that income. My savings depletes over the next 3–4 weeks. I'm back to borrowing money I can never repay from my family that has started to lose respect for me for staying with this woman. Then one day, my wallet disappears. With a money order for our rent inside it.She “knew something like this was going to happen, now we're going to be homeless and it's all your fucking fault". The landlord wasn't too upset or worried, he was going to work with us. But she triangulates me with her mother, and arranges for us to move in with her while we save money to get back on our feet. There is a small problem with that: her mother lives in Clay county, AL. Just go and Google jobs in Clay County AL. There aren't any. There are barely any houses in Clay County. So I go to the only place there to work, a cabinet factory. They pay $11 per hour. $22k per year. She gets a job there too, but with her lesser qualifications they put her on the sanding line for $9 per hour. A combined $40k….if only. After 5 weeks (a new record), the whole factory is abuzz about some girl yelling about discrimination (she's white, BTW, and so was everyone else working there in her department) and cussing out her manager and even the plant supervisor. Of course, she was let go by the company. So now she has nowhere to work. She pissed off the only employer for 40 miles in any direction. Back to $22k, still with a $640/month car payment. We can't save money, even without rent.Eventually, I find a job back in opelika. I have to drive an hour and 15 minutes each way, but it was $15/hour plus commission, and I was REALLY good at the job. I made twice as much in commission as I did in hourly pay. Things were looking up. 6 months into this job, we have enough to move back to Opelika(just outside of Auburn, I'm still goal-oriented on graduating). So she tells me about this guy who has a trailer for rent. I go and meet him, everything looks good except the rent was still a bit higher than I wanted. Whatever, it gets me out of the triangle of abuse between her and her mother. I sign the lease. Two days later, I get a phone call…it's that guy's ex-wife. Come to find out, he doesn't actually own that trailer, she does. So we need a new lease. My wife met with her and signed it, and I thought nothing of it. We move in. Everything starts looking better for a bit. A very short bit. Like a week. Suddenly she won't let me into the bed. She says it's because I smell like a cigarette. (She smokes too). So I start sleeping in the camper. (She got some money from her father passing away, and immediately spent it all on a 4 wheeler (not too mad about that, it was for the kids), an ATV that also had a lawnmower attachment (it wasn't even our lawn, and the landowner cut it every other week, plus the damn thing broke after using it 5 times, which we couldn't afford to fix), and this raggedy ass camper trailer that would start to fall apart if you pulled it down the road. It was too heavy for our truck to even pull safely. Pure stupidity. But she said “That's MY MONEY and I'll do what I want with it.”) Whatever…thats where I sleep at this point. The guy I met to sign the first lease has been in jail since we moved in, the neighbors say it's because he beat the fuck out of his girlfriend, chased her around the yard in an ATV trying to kill her, and then beat the hell out of his mother when she tried to stop him.One day he gets out. I think nothing of it and continue working and trying to avoid conflict around the kids. She tells me one day that he offered her a job working in his office, cleaning and keeping things organized. (He runs a painting company). I'm just happy she wants to contribute. So cool…She's with him very frequently in the following weeks. That's her job, so I think nothing of it. She also is shopping a lot more frequently than I think an office assistant would be…and not contributing much to our situation. One day I come home on lunch break, something I didn't always do. His truck is at the end of the driveway, and she's leaning on the drivers side window. She looks at me and I see a look of fear on her face. When you're with someone for 9 years, you know these looks. So I ignore her. I act like I didn't notice. I walk up on the porch and see her phone. I picked it up and opened her texts.“I can't wait to cuddle up in the bed with you"“Is your husband home?”“No, hurry and come over"“That was fun, we should do that more often"All the while my kids are there watching this. And she knows the stories of how crazy he is and how dangerous he can be.She walks up. I show her the text messages. She tries to tell me “it's not what you think"…yeah fuckin right. She is distraught. Terribly upset and crying. She gets no pity from me. So she says, “I need some alcohol", and leaves me there. I have my stepson, who was 14, watch the two younger boys, and I go out to the motherfucker's office. I see my $640/month truck there (which she never paid a cent on), and her hugging up against him. I take pictures. She comes back pissed: “did you get the picture you wanted?!? I hope you're fucking happy!”All the while I sit there stunned….now she's the victim somehow. She takes off again. I take my two boys, drive 2.5 hours to my dad's house, and block her number. She sends the police there, telling them I have drugs and am going to kill myself and all kinds of crazy shit, but they can't do anything because they're my kids and I'm laughing when they tell me what she told them. But, in order to keep moving forward, I had to keep working. One day at work, I come out and my car is gone. She stole it.The cops can't do anything because we aren't divorced yet, and it's “marital property".Also, come to find out, my name isn't on the lease that she went and signed without me. For the house that I was paying for…Now my kids are 2.5 hours away and I can't get to them. But she didn't think of that…she only thought about herself. So now I have to call her. I have to play her game to get back to them. She wants to talk and figure things out. So I do. She tells me she didn't have sex with him until I had taken the kids and left. She said she got really drunk that night and he took advantage of her. I say bull fucking shit. You are lying thru your teeth. Not having it. She says it doesn't matter, the kids are what's important. And that, I agree with. She keeps telling me I'm trying to take them away from her and this and that, and I said from day one I just want split custody, not to take them from her. But as a man in Alabama, the only way that will happen is if I showed the initiative. So that's why I did what I did. I told her if she wanted to work it out we were going to move out immediately and she would not have a cell phone for the next month. She reluctantly agreed. We took the camper and stayed a week at a campground, never touching or kissing or anything. No peaceful conversation ensued. At the end of the week when it came time to renew the spot, she says, “I'm going home, I miss my bed.” And pulls the camper out to go back there. At this point I am DONE. I'm not living there next to him to be reminded of her disrespect and utter disregard for our family. For her to continue sneaking behind my back and telling me I'm crazy when I see the signs. Not happening. But she got the kids back out of this fucking switcheroo she pulled…so I had to follow. The next day, she tried to kick me out. I was about to leave, and then she pulled the fuses out of my car (the ones under the hood that control everything from the starter to the abs system, everything). So I couldn't go anywhere. Then she pulls out a tazer and tries to take my wallet. I pull out my phone and start filming, and suddenly she starts yelling, “don't touch me, stop trying to hurt me, don't ever put your hands on me again" like I was the aggressor….fucking dirtbag…Then she leaves me and the kids there with no way to go anywhere, nothing for them to drink, and no uber or lyft within range. This was around 11am.She comes back at 3am, screaming. She raises a frying pan at me and tells me to “get the fuck out of my house" (which she never paid a cent of rent for). She puts a couple of the fuses back (still missing 3 or 4 of them) so that I can go. She also puts her Marijuana paraphernalia into my backseat while I was packing up my shit, thinking I wouldn't notice. I threw it out at the end of the driveway. I was pulled over not 3 miles down the road and searched top to bottom. She wanted me to get arrested so she could get full custody. This whole time she had been talking about how I'm going to have to pay her alimony because she didn't work the whole 9 years we were married….yeah, not for a cheating bitch I won't…So I leave. I couldn't get ahold of her to hear about the kids for 5 days. So I went and picked up her prescription (she loves her drugs), since I'm still legally her husband. Suddenly, she wants to talk to me. She calls me with the cops on speakerphone and I tell her yes I got her pills and exactly why. I told her the cops could get them but I didn't want to see her. I didn't want her to figure out some way to have me arrested. But I want to know how the kids are. She tells me they're fine. That hero (my stepson) is upset because he feels like he should have been able to help somehow. Just guilt-tripping all around.I had already filed for divorce and filed a protection from abuse order against her on behalf of the kids. Come to find out, she had done the same against me. She had her mother and her aunt come to court to testify that I was a “drug addict" and “abusive" and a threat to their safety. I was alone in court. So my dad took out a loan to hire the best lawyer we could find….$8,000.The judge didn't like her attitude very much, and I was very quiet and reserved. He dismissed both protection orders and pointedly told my soon-to-be ex-wife that she better figure out a way for me to see those boys or this would not end well for her. She suddenly flips a switch…”I want him to see the boys, they need their daddy and I want them to spend as much time with him as possible…”.W.T.F. ……So that day I get to hang out with my boys. It was awesome. I was ecstatic. But that day I learned that she had put anything that was mine or had pictures of me or my family in, on, or near it, out by the side of the road….two weeks ago. The trash company had picked it up, of course. I lost everything but the bag of clothes I got the night she tried to hit me with the frying pan. Also, every time I went to pick up the kids, the dickhead landlord's car was there. Got plenty of footage for court. She kept her “I want to do what is right” attitude for the rest of the divorce proceedings, resulting in an uncontested divorce, something that could have been done for $200.00 instead of $8,000.Now, she isn't following the divorce agreement. She told me the kids can't come visit me until I sign over full custody to her. She moved to Florida, and signed a paper saying she would do everything reasonable to make coparenting possible…We had agreed to each claim one child on income taxes. She claimed them both. Even though she didn't even support herself for 2019. I paid for everything except her dumb ass camper and those raggedy ATV's. So now if I had E-filed, I would have wound up having to PAY IN to the government instead of getting a roughly $5,000 return. Because I had to file by mail, I still haven't gotten a fucking stimulus check. Meanwhile she gets a $7500 tax return and her stimulus check at the same time, another $2200 because she claimed both.So I sent the IRS my divorce agreement and my paper tax return. God knows when they will look at it, due to COVID.MEANWHILE…My job decides to cut commissions. They veil it as a good thing, since certain types of sales will have more commission. But MOST sales will have less commission. It turns out to lower my pay by almost 90%, since I was making more in commission than in hourly pay. I could no longer afford my rent, even with a new girlfriend who was helping (she worked with me, got a pay cut too…) and before you ask, she was not in the picture until I was divorced. In fact, the first thing I remember her saying to me (other than asking questions in the training class that I was teaching) was, “I heard you were getting divorced… “So now I'm facing being homeless and still have child support due every month. We are moving in with my girlfriend's family in Texas, even further from my boys. I found a job there, and it should work out, I hope. The good news is my girlfriend is studying to be a brain surgeon so she is great at helping me work thru my traumatic experience as it comes and she has been in an abusive relationship also, so just being able to talk to each other about that is very therapeutic.Once we have our own place, I'm going to start taking the legal avenues available to enforce the divorce agreement. Right now, I have nowhere to lay my own head, much less theirs.Update: Dickhead landlord drugged and anal raped her. While my kids were in the house. She told me all about it over a phone call that I have recorded. For now I keep putting my nose to the grindstone, in hopes that one day I can look up and be where I want to be. I am still living in a small room with my girlfriend's parents. Hoping to get out by November.Sorry for the long story, I'll write a book someday…but it would probably be rejected because it's too far out there…

Could somebody explain to me rationally why they support Donald Trump? I want to understand this.

Here you go, here’s why I’m excited about Trump:1. Trump is the Opposite of Racist, a Nationalist. This will rationalize and lower healthcare cost in the US. All the paid hours that go into our labyrinth of hidden pricing and negotiation, and multitudinous paperwork is expensive, and it prevents people from making informed decisions. Can anyone offer a solid argument for voting for Trump that does not involve criticizing Biden or Democrats or the ‘fake news’ media? Genuine answers please.

Here you go, this is why I’m excited about Trump:1. The Opposite of Racist, a Nationalist. The purpose of nationalism to the defeat racism, to unite diverse peoples in a mutually supportive, national identity. Trump is a devout nationalist, while Democrats oddly strive to eliminate racism by focusing on our differences rather than what we have in common as Americans. Bizzare how people who claim to be against racism are so committed to dividing us into identities and preventing Trump from uniting the nation as Americans. Covid. Democrats claim Trump hasn’t handled Covid, yet Trump restricted travel by anyone who had been to China returning citizens Jan. 31. In response, on Feb. 1, Biden calls this xenophobic and fear-mongering, and offers no plan of his own. Then it was too much and now it wasn’t enough.
