PDF Editor FAQ
Is India really intolerant?
I am an Indian Christian and I am from a minority community because we make just 2.5% of India’s population. Now this is the main page of a largest selling News Daily in India “The Times of India” on EASTERThis is Jesus and couple of kids celebrating Easter. Why would the Largest selling English Newspaper daily bother to draw a mini art of Jesus at a place where it could have posted an advertisement which would have fetched more revenue? We have two National Holidays for Christmas and Good Friday. Most of my Hindu brethren don’t know much about Good Friday yet they wish us Happy Good Friday on WhatsApp (Guys, it is a sad day for us). Why would a large section of India who has no idea of Good Friday wish their Christian friends? As far as government is concerned, it tries its best to protect and uplift India’s minorities. For example, all major churches are fortified and heavily guarded during Christmas and Easter to prevent any untoward incident. In 2015 some miscreants broke the window glasses of a church in Delhi. And soon it became the prime time debate. A Union Minister personally visited the place and assured security. Such events happen to temples on regular basis, but I have never seen a visit from any Union Minister. Please don’t get me wrong!Imagine this, instead of Sri Lanka, on Easter’s eve if Indian Churches were attacked by ISIS and if 300+ Indian Christians were killed. Probably this government would have declared war on ISIS and decimated them .My only question is why would a government and its people work so hard to preserve and uplift a very small, scattered section of people that is barely 2.5%.So, No, My India is not intolerant.

What are common scams in India?
I have an MSI GE Apache Gaming Laptop which I bought a few years ago for 1.5 lakhs with all the upgrades. It is an absolute beast, a very sturdy laptop. How do I know? Because I pushed it to the max almost every day for two years. So, last month while I was using it, the laptop suddenly died on me. The screen went black and stopped working. It just refused to boot up, even in safe mode. No BSOD, no beeps, nothing. I checked everything but couldn't turn it on.The next day I had to go out of town for some work so I gave it to my friend to take it to the service centre. At this point, I should tell you that the laptop was out of warranty. It had a warranty for 2.5yrs. So I knew I had to shell out some money to get it fixed. But I never thought the service centre would try to rip me off by this much. The next day when I returned, my friend showed me the estimate which the service centre gave. They told him that the motherboard is fried and a few other components have been damaged also, so they need to replace those as well. Final estimate: A whopping Rs. 44,760.Are you kidding me?So I went to the service centre, paid them Rs. 500 as preliminary testing charges and took back my laptop. While I was leaving, the service centre guys tried hard to convince me that this is the only solution, that I should repair it there and no other computer expert would be able to fix it. I wasn't having any of that so I refused and went home.At home, I thought I should give it a try. I checked on youtube how to dismantle an MSI laptop (there were tons of tutorial) and took the matter in my own hand. I checked the ram, no issues with it. Checked the SSD by plugging it to a different computer, It was working flawlessly. I then Checked the GPU, no issues detected there. No signs of any damage to the motherboard either. So what could be wrong? And then it clicked. The Cmos battery has never been replaced, maybe that died and it is preventing the BIOS from booting up. So I bought a battery for Rs. 40. Replaced the old one with the new. And pushed the power button. It lit up, the RGB keys lit up, the fan started spinning, the HDD lights started flashing and the MSI logo appeared. It's Christmas again. My laptop is working as before. So, the Cmos battery got depleted, which was stopping the system to boot. Changed the battery and it started working again. And for this small issue, the service centre guys tried to scam 44k from me.So if your laptop is out of warranty, before going to the service centre, try to fix it once. There are hundreds of such tutorials available for free. Don't get scammed by greedy technicians.Update: Thank you all for such tremendous response to this answer. Over half a million people have read this and you all have smart devices be it mobile, laptop, tablet etc. Which means you too are susceptible to this ever-growing scam. So, next time when you visit a service centre, be vigilant, be extra cautious and use your better judgement before giving them your hard earned money. This answer was taken down by Quora Moderation on 13th of Aug without stating a reason.
