What are some CBSE class 12 results stories?

It starts from the very best time of my life during may 2014, I was student of one of deadly combination of that time PCMB(preparing for medical Entrance) although for many people it is easy but I took this in the circle of those where everyone was not supporting this idea of taking the subject combination like this but some how ignoring the previous facts i took it and just glanced forward.I took admission in that institute which was completely not doing well but with my own efforts and hardwork. The phase of 11th class went smooth and absolutely perfect. I scored 95.8% in class. Topped school but who ask for 11th? The real exam was yet to come. The days of 12th class in april to july were going like a pleasant breeze. Then life had some irritations & time hard for me came.2014August :- An unexpected neurological head pressure developed and challenge for study started...ha ha someone rightly said that you never know what time wants from you or what it will give you.October:- I began to had tremendous pain and pressure. I ignored it for 2 months but when it didn't fade i decided to to have view of a doctor, i first when to opthamologist(eye specialist) , he gave me some medicine and said me to relax. Ohk i agreed i will do it. I followed it very till one month but not even 0.5% change was there for which i could say relieved. Then doctor itself referred me to consult ENT specialist.I was doing study side by side. I began to attend institute classes very rarely due to this.November:- with my father i searched for best ENT doctor, we found and went to have some look, after looking for matter. he wasn’t properly sure about sinusitis but with 70% probability he gave me medicine. But after x ray i was diagonsed with sinusitis. So that was it???????? I have my medicine and cleared of sinusitis but very sadly to say that my symptoms didn't fade. By looking at this doctor reffered me to a neuropsychtiarist.Ha ha,students at that time spend most of their time with books and institute. I was busy in looking for doctor and having appointment. Even MRI, CT s were not revealing me anything.I used to study with having a tight band rolled over my head.December:- most difficult time came. I went to neuropsychtiarist. He suggested me a test and then considering my problem to be very simple he gave me hard medication dose. 5.5 tablets in morning and 6 in evening, some what most of them were hypnotics...that induced tremendous sleep.I began to sleep 14 to 16 hours/day.Becoming extremely difficult for me study. 24 hours I was in the state of drowsiness and pain. Most difficult time i would say. But with that band on head still gave my best efforts to study. Now I was only focussing on boards not on medical entrance.2015January:- my confidence went so low that I had to go for psychotherapy once in a week. It helped me initially but later it's effects were not seen. I was so frustated to that I left the session of psychotherapy and then started looking for motivation in myself which came and with pain, drowsiness in my head I just ignored it and started doing tremendous hard work..Feburary:- practicals went perfect and even my physics external viva examiner praised me for my answer which i delievered for very tricky questions not from textbook but from her own mind. I developed some confidence...March:- Board came and I gave it with same drowsiness and sleep... expecting for 85 to 90 % to be very frank.April:- gave jee main 2015 scored 155 quiet normal score.May:- aipmt, which was my actual exam went very poor. I didn't prepared due to intensive pain,so i wasn't much expecting from med. Entrance. Some how I gathered more strength prepared for UP CPMT 2015 and cracked the exam. With 152/200. My rank was 419 in general category. So I got the LLRM MEDICAL COLLEGE MERRUT.being very close to Delhi. I was delighted that my hardwork and tough time paid me enough what i needed badly that time.July came with bit of surprises. I missed seat of IPU CET MBBS just by one rank. Second aipmt gave me enough chances but due to ignorance and my slow speed i missed some about 8 or 10 questions which paid me only 465.I was satisfied with that time. I never had my own phone that time, the phone that i had for first time was iphone 4s. Given by my coaching class to me.OMG, I forgot about boards. yeah result was on the day of cpmt paper. I was frankly expecting 85 to 90% midway. The result was going like this:-English :- 90Physics:- 95Chemistry:- 98Maths:- 95Biology:- 92I just can't expressed my satisfaction that time. Although i wasn't the topper of the school but the topper of that hard time which i faced. I scored 94%. All of them were delighted. Especially my father who had spend time with me while taking me to doctors with his favorite Honda shine bike. I used to wear labourer type of helmet while having seat behind thanks for that time which my father gave me...From that i also added one more passion of my life. Becoming Motivational speaker apart from a doctor. It worked as i could save a friend of mine from commiting suicide...Thus, guys life can give unexpected time so always prepare for it. Either you will break yourself or a record. Choice is your's.Because the one who never surrenders to bad time always have confidence and victory in his hand.I learnt this from my life... although that neuro problem is very mild, but now it doesn't matter.Thing that Matters is which you will give in that bad time when everyone will doubt you and latter on how you will shut the mouth of them. Being success your speaker and hardwork your mouth. So just go ahead and hold pen of your life in hand and start writing the best biography of your life by your hardwork and dedication.RegardsSaurav

Why do doctors never tell a patient how long they have to live?

In November 2015,(*) I was told I had a few months left to live. (One said two or three, another said three or four, no one said as many as six.) I was suffering from an exquisitely painful, very aggressive sarcoma.…Spoiler Alert: At the time of this writing, I’m not dead.[1]Although I stopped all treatment in November 2015, in April 2017 a PET/CT showed that I had no cancer left in my body. I am now regaining strength and movement. So, to answer your question:Sometimes doctors do tell a patient how long they have left to live.Sometimes they are right.Sometimes they are wrong.Sometimes doctors don’t tell a patient that they are dying soon:Sometimes they feel the patient is not able to understand.Sometimes they feel the patient is not mentally/emotionally able to handle the knowledge.Sometimes the doctors don’t want to face the reality of their limitations.Sometimes they are afraid they’ll be wrong.Footnotes[1] ‎Claire-Edith de la Croix (קלייר-עדית)‎'s answer to To anyone who has survived metastatic cancer, what is your story?

Pancreatic cancer is said to be the most insidious of all cancers. Is it possible to spot it early? How can one prevent it?

Pancreatic cancer is said to be the most insidious of all cancers. Is it possible to spot it early? How can one prevent it? (Ed. 10 MAR 2020: Added the original question just in case the Quorabots combine it with a newer, similar question.)ED 26 JAN 2021: My oncologist cancelled my usual 6-month follow up this past November. I am now on an annual starting this coming May.Update: 19 May 2020 —- According to the results of the CT scan I had on 12 May, there are no signs of recurrence or metastasis. Oncologist was pleased with the results of the blood work from 5 May. It appears that I am now 5 years post diagnosis, and clear of disease. I now have time to address the other, less worrisome medical issues. :-)I started my journey on 23 March 2015 when I called the doctor because I’d been having abdominal discomfort, dark urine, light stools, unexplained fever, mild jaundice…thought I was having a recurrence of liver trouble that had cropped up in the mid-1990’s. I was drinking a bottle of whiskey most days for the better part of 16 years (was drinking heavy back then, too). Also thought it may have been gall stones from the location of the discomfort. Never had the severe mid torso pain reported by other folks in the survivors group to which I subscribe. 1st appointment of the series was 24 March. After a lot of blood tests, plus x-rays, ultrasounds, ERCPs (basically an endoscopy on steroids, which also entailed bile duct stents and needle biopsies) and CT scans, I was diagnosed at Stage 1B on 14 May 2015.3 weeks later, after having a modified Whipple procedure (I lost none of my stomach), the post surgery pathology report said the tumor had grown to Stage 2B. The surgeon and pathologist were confident that the surgical margins were clear and that only 4 of 29 lymph nodes excised were suspicious.I had chemo from mid-July to mid-December, which I tolerated well. All blood work and CT scans since the surgery have shown no recurrence.I was found early, but only because I went in for symptoms, which in my mind, pointed in a different direction.I was damn lucky.I lost my maternal grandmother, a maternal side uncle and a maternal side 1st cousin to pancreatic cancer. Their symptoms led them to the doctor at too late in the process, all were Stage 4 when the cancer was diagnosed. My grandmother made it 5 months on palliative and hospice care in 1990. My uncle lived 19 days, late Stage 4, inoperable. My cousin made it 9 months, early Stage 4, but inoperable. My Uncle and Cousin’s diagnoses were 8 years apart (2008 and 2016 respectively), and my cousin’s survival was due to better palliative treatment developed over that time, but the more curative treatments had no effect for him.Prevention…I drank as above, smoked 3 packs of cigarettes a day for a long time (mostly quit in 1997, stopped completely in 2009, I am now 60), am overweight, do not eat real healthy, have not exercised regularly since I left the USAF Reserves in late 1992; made a lot of bad lifestyle choices, as did my uncle. My cousin was 180 degrees opposite, lived a very healthy lifestyle. The surgeon told me that pancreatic is 10% genetic, 25% bad lifestyle choices and 65% “lightning strike.” However, I do not counsel inviting disaster by following my bad example. I’m also trying to eat better now, walk for exercise (beside the 16 - 20 hours I work each week), cut back the alcohol to no more than 1 drink a day (most days, none at all), see the doctor regularly for follow up…Upshot of my story, pay attention to your body. If something feels off, get to competent medical help. I have healed well and continue to be cancer free as of this writing. I think it also helps that I have refused to be sick. Here’s a link explaining about the Whipple. it is a bit “dry,” but very informative.(Edit 31 DEC 19: It has been noted in the comments at YouTube, Dr Cameron, who narrated this video, performed over 2,000 Whipples in his career.)Update #1: Never in my wildest imagining did I expect my little essay to reach so many. I am humbled.Update #2: As of today 21 June 2018), I am 3 years, 1 month and 1 week post diagnosis, 3 years, 19 days post-Whipple…I continue to show no evidence of disease.Update #3: As of 14 November 2018, I am 42 months post-diagnosis. As I understand it, median survival is 15 months across all stages. I am doing well enough that my oncologist has adjust my follow up schedule to labs every 6 months and CT scan once a year.Update #4: As of 19 DEC 18, I am 43 months and 5 days post diagnosis. I feel cautiously optimistic that I will be among the small group who makes it to 5 years and beyond. Have a better chance if I do not slip into my bad drinking and eating habits of old again,Update #5: 21 May 2019 - I am now 4 years and 1 week post-diagnosis with no signs of recurrence.Update #6: 25 SEP 19 —- Wow!!! over a 1/4 million views, thank you for the interest. I hope my words have been a good starting point for folks to go on and get solid medical information. 52 months, 11 days post-diagnosis…no sign of recurrence as yet.Update: 11 NOV 19 - Saw the oncologist last week, still no signs of recurrence. Now to address the overweight, high BP and cholesterol issues. Take care all and thank you for your interest in my answer.Early Detection, followed quickly by conventional treatment, was the key.Update: 14 NOV 2019 —- Am now 4 1/2 years post-diagnosis. My primary went over the labs from last week with me. Everything looked good, the primary tumor marker (CA19–9) was barely detectable at 4. He suggested I talk to my GI doctor about getting the hernias fixed, as the primary one is like half a volleyball under the skin of my belly, and not wait the full 5 years clear, as I am doing so well.Update: 22 FEB 2020 —- Insurance company would not authorize the CT I requested so the surgeon would have up to date imaging, was trying for a second opinion on the hernia repair. Will have to wait until May, at least.Update: 15 April 2020 —- Am now 4 years, 11 months and 1 day post-diagnosis. My oncologist ordered the DNA testing, which is now standard protocol with new pancreatic diagnoses. The BRCA1/2 panel showed no variations of significance in cancer formation. The custom panel looked at 86 other genes, all but 1 showed no variations of significance. The one that did have 1 variation, was analyzed as being of uncertain significance. It is a gene that may play a part in developing endocrine tumors. My niece Erica went through a bout with thyroid cancer in her early teens, and is doing well these 20 some years later. Thyroid was mentioned in the report as possibly being affected.Update: 3 May 2020 - 59 months and 1 day post-Whipple, with no known evidence of recurrence thus far.Update 28 March 2021: I reserve the right to delete comments, which seem to be Woo Woo Alternatives that I find are scientifically unsound, no matter the credentials claimed by the author.
