Pediatric Study Plan: Fill & Download for Free

I am a final year student. I dont know whether I am the right person to answer this or not…but still..I can atleast share my strategy…So subject wise books and strategy:MEDICINE:As a textbook, I only have harrison, Read it as much as I can…still hv few months left…hope it will be finished…In parallel m solving mcqs from deepak marwah latest book…For clinics I follow mc leod & arup kundu…I prepare my own notes as well as have DAMS classroom notes…For prof exam purpose…I have matthews and also myself written 10 years university paper…I guess this is enough for medicine..Surgery:Though i have bailey n love but read only selected topics from it…mostly breast n thyroid…rest all I have done from Arif naseem and Manipal..They are good books for prof..Also in parallel solve surgery essence..its a really good book…for clinics: only makhan lal saha…for few topis s.das.I have prepared my own notes as well as DAMS classroom notes…and have solved last 10years university paper..GYNE & OBS:For obs: I have only read Jb sharma…its a great book…i would suggest everyone to read it..in parallel solve mcqs for sakshi arora…for clinics arup majhi is really good…For gyne: I have read shaw as well as essentials of gynecology and prepared my own notes and solve mcqs from sakshi arora…fr clinics j mukherji book is good but not required…I have prepared my own notes in gyne also…Pediatrics:It is the most ignored subject by me…havent read it well yet…To be very honest…hardly open ghai…only dams class room notes i am reading…will read ghai soon…never solved mcq book by arvind arora..But I would suggest everyone to read Ghai…as Watever I have read…its written good there…Also kindly help me in pedia…Ortho:would suggest everyone to read maheshwari by heart…that is more than enough…but it is my subject of interest read it a lot..given it thrice the time it needed. Responsible for my poor pedia… Everyone should solve mcq from apurva mehra..Short subjects:Arvind arora review is enough for prof and mcqs. Nothing more required.But for reference you can have these books.KEY STRATEGY FOR ALL SUBJECTS:READ STANDARD TEXTBOOKSMAKE YOUR OWN NOTE, IF POSSIBLEDAMS CLASSROOM NOTESSOLVE MCQ BOOKS IN PARALLEL FOR ALL SUBJECTS.ATTEND CLINICS, READ CLINICAL BOOKS IN WARD OR AFTER WARD.Hope this will help.

First of all,congratulations for getting into Medical College. It is a proud & privileged moment for you.Enjoy it as long as it lasts and get ready for a lengthy haul.Every year of MBBS is important. As for first year.First year is all about basics and getting a hang of medicine.A strong foundation is very important.Anatomy is all about physical structure of human body.Biochemistry is all about the various organic chemistries happening inside of the body. (Biochem was very boring & difficult for me).Physiology is/was very interesting is about the various life processes going in the normal healthy body. It is very important to get a good grip on Physiology to understand general medicine, pediatrics or rather any clinical subject which will be the core of final year. Anatomy is additively helpful later for general surgery and gynecology & obstetrics.Anatomy & Biochemistry need some mugging& memorization talent(which I was very poor at). Although physio doesn't need lot of mugging, understanding of the concepts is more important.Anatomy also comprises of Histology, Embryology & neuroanatomy. Embryology is interesting although somewhat complicated to understand.A good teacher can help understand Embryology.Histology is simple.Don't miss histology lab.Neuroanatomy is little dry & volatile subject.When read with lot of interest & curiosity,it kinda becomes easy.(when studying combine it with physiology of nervous system,it is helpful).Keep in touch with the books EVERYDAY EVERY SINGLE DAY. MAY IT BE JUST 2 PAPERS OF EACH SUBJECT BUT JUST BE IN TOUCH. FOLLOW THIS RELIGIOUSLY AND IM SURE YOU'LL HAVE THAT CURIOSITY TO KNOW WHATS NEXT. THAT WILL KEEP YOU GOING EVERYDAY. EFFORTLESS MOTIVATION.Dont take the idea of passing in each subject lightly. It takes HARD WORK AND MORE IMPORTANTLY SMART WORK TO CLEAR THE CONCEPTS AS WELL AS YOUR EXAM PAPERS.Make friends with people who study they'll keep the desire to learn burning in your heart. And more importantly Engage in other extra curricular activities whenever youre free with your studies.. Dont be a book worm. If you follow that everyday studyday plan you wont be piling up syllabus for your exams, because usually we students have the habit of studying just before the exam. Write hand written note while reading under disease header. That also work as writing practice. The notes from clinical classes are very important. Compile them with those notes. Make list of Long cases, Short cases & read the 10 years theory questions. Make note for the Long Questions, Short notes, Long cases, Short cases, Spot cases.For example, appendicitis asked as clinical problem in viva. Actually we need to recall few points.Appendicitisfever, pain, nausea, vomiting, anorexia,leucocytosisMcBurney's point tenderness, rebound tenderness, psoas sign, Rovsing's sign,Alvarado scoreappendix can be retrocaecal, there can be accessory appendicular artery,differentiate with Meckel's diverticulitis & intussusception (in children), ruptured ectopic (in young adult female), testicular torsion (in male),emergency appendicectomy (open or lap what is performed at your hospital utter it) performed under general anaesthesia — external oblique aponeurosis is split, then internal oblique muscle, peritoneum is opened, appendix ligated at its base with scalpel, abdomen closed in layers.Visit ER, surgery EOT at least once a month else you may start to forget. Arbitrarily give 2 months for each subjects.These are usually books which we read :Davidson - theory plus respiratory from Kumar & ClarkManipal Surgery book - theory, Bailey & Love REALLY risky at last momentPediatrics — Dr. OP GhaiRead only theoretical questions in Psychiatry.Orthopaedics - Dr. Maheshwari. Make note from Apley's Concise System on Perthes disease.Dr. A.K Kundu is good for clinics. Very important book.Dr. M.L Saha Surgery book - indispensable to pass surgeryDermatology - few cases
