What ages are your children?What are the reasons for wanting to homeschool them?The reason I ask this, is I am trying to ascertain your drive and commitment to education and at which level you intend to progress to.Teaching children requires passion, a love of learning and an inate sense of curiosity.I applaud your enquiry and would direct you to the following: ( this is based on the British national curriculum but is transferable to a degree and a great place to start from).A copy of the national curriculum for the relevant years you will be teaching (available from the Dept. Of Education ) this will list what would be covered at school.Using the curriculum as a guide, seek out resources from your local library which cover topic areas such as the Vikings and so on. If working at KS3/4 (11years -16/18 years ) there will be exam board specifications and guides which can be obtained through contacting the relevant exam board.For the staple English, Maths,Science, there are excellent resources to enhance the learning experience on something called BBC bitesize. This site covers all ages and is a great way to make learning more interactive with games, quizzes and scores. There are various levels and your child can slowly progress through at their own pace.In your library there will be a reading system in place for younger children. Take advantage of this. Keep a reading record so they can see how many books they have read. Keep a spelling book to include thesaurus.Children are NEVER too old to have their times table drummed into them!!I would suggest monthly excursions to underline the relevance of the topic you are learning. This serves to 'cement' the topic understanding in your child's mind. Whatever age.I would suggest rigorously structuring your day.I would suggest involving physical activity breaks.I would suggest a clear reward system and monitoring must be in place to identify progress for the benefit of you and your child. ( this may be linked to the end of month excursion)I would now sit down, understand the commitment you will have to make and consider whether this is for you!Please feel free to ask anything. It is fair to think that if that is being exactly as one needs to be in that moment.For this being sat here and now, aligned of open heart with centered mind of no mind there is an inate balanced response ability to meet any circumstance with discernment for best for self and others. Intuitively guided in an instant allowing for spontaneity. Being as one is meant to be in the moment. There is no expectation or anticipation of reward being given by any one other then self, aligned with self values, love and worth for the benefit of self and others.
