It is not “one election” the US Presidential election is 51 separate 50 state & one District of Columbia elections.SCOTUS can and has ruled in the past that some aspects of state elections can be unlawful. Twenty years ago in the 2000 election SCOTUS ruled (7 to 2) that having different standards of counting ballots in the same state violated the equal protection clause of the 14th amendment.In a separate 5 to 4 decision on the same case SCOTUS let a Florida Supreme Court ruling stand that the deadline for counting ballots was a specific day that had already passed by then. It ought be noted that the federal deadline by law was a very few days away and estimated time to recount again, exceeded that limit too.In the current election in several states serious constitutional issues some based on the same equal protection clause, some based on other issues have been raised.If SCOTUS rules on each of these cases to the effect that many more Biden ballots were unlawful than Trump ballots, that could either cause the EC vote totals to flip, or decertify several state results, punting the election to congress as has happened a couple of times before.If as has been claimed by some a deliberate effort to cheat in multiple states elections using a specific brand (dominion) of election machine and specific software for that machine was used which was alleged to be used in Venezuela to steal elections, and that is proven well enough in court, it is LIKELY many state elections where that machine & software were used will be thrown out as suspect, and the presidential election goes to congress which is our constitutional fail-safe procedure if the EC fails.

Several years ago there was a problem with the state’s computers on tax day and the state filing deadline was extended for 48 hours or something like that.However, it’s also quite possible that your state would issue a blanket rule that “state and federal returns are due the same day.”Your state’s Revenue Department’s website would be the best place to start.

Oklahoma has been very slow to implement Real ID compliant driver’s licenses. They finally passed a law in 2017 to start issuing Real ID licenses and ID cards. They planned to have it ready by April of 2020 (in advance of the October federal deadline), but then the coronavirus struck and the Federal mandate was postponed until October of 2021.
