What document do I need if I want to go back to India from the UK and living here illegally? My passport is expired.

It is only valid for one way travel once. You can renew your passport once you return back to India.Indian High Commission has suspended consular services due to covid restrictions till February 20th 2021. They have provided an email address and phone number on the website for emergency service. You can email them and call them. Which is that one incident that could have ruined your life?

Hi ,This was long back when I traveled to UK. I went alone and my family was expected to join me later. This incident was a miracle, had this not happened, my family would not have joined me that time. My son was minor at that time and for his passport application an affidavit was needed from me stating that his name was not included in my passport and that was to be endorsed by Indian High Commission in UK. I was on training and somehow got permission to go to High Commission at Birmingham. Made the application and then was told to come next day which was next to impossible for me. Was clueless what to do. Then suddenly there was an argument was happening at the counter and the higher official came there. I took the opportunity and explained my position and he agreed to endorse the document and give it to me post lunch. I was saved. Had this not happened, things would have been entirely different. Miracles do happen.

What are the various artifacts that belong to India but are currently in the UK?

There are the ~800,000 Indian passports held by bodies studying, working, or residing in the UK, ditto for the ~300,000 Overseas Citizen of India cards, Indian driving licences, the RBI issued notes and coins, the contents of the London High commission, the Hounslow, Birmingham and Edinburgh consulate, along with the uniforms of the staff, a number of the cars they drive, and the contents of the furnished homes of the senior officials. Ditto for the branches, contents, and assets of the nationalised Indian banks, with UK branches, e.g. Bank of India - United Kingdom - ContactUs. Then there will be the military kit, that was either built by the likes of BAE, MBDA, Airbus, and Rolls Royce, and is waiting delivery, or kit that's in the UK for a mid life tweak.
