Tricky question.There are landlord/tenant laws in place. These laws are designed to ensure equal housing opportunities for all.However, would you as a applicant know why they rejected your rental application? Usually the answer is no. They're not going to purposely tell you they violated law.For example, when I lived in Florida, a lot of apartment complexes had signs posted, section 8 was not accepted. So low income families receiving section 8 (housing assistance).Not that they would deny you because of section 8, but at that low of an income, you wouldn't qualify to rent in that complex.So is that equal housing? Doesn't seem like it but I can understand why section 8 would be denied.
